I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. He took away one pain, but left me with another that has steadily gotten worse. I feel like my back is breaking up. I can no longer walk steadily.

Great doctor, highly recommended

Horrible surgeon that left me with severe nerve damage. Beware. It's not worth it when you have to spend the rest of your life struggling to walk.

Dr LEE WHO I THOUGHT WAS THE BEST AT FIRST HE DID 2 SURGERYS ON ME MY LEG IS SO MESSED UP AND FOOT FOR THREE YEARS NOW........ Short wait times, great lobby. Dr. Lee was very engaging and descriptive when explaining current diagnosis and what it might look like going forward.

As of right now I am not happy with this dr. At all, He preformed a surgery on my wife's back and we are back at the er 2 weeks later because she is in pain and can barely walk and he won't even show up to see what the problem is let alone fix it . Anybody have recommendations on a new spinal dr ?

Loves to operate, very strange Hospital, doesn’t understand pain management, doesn’t care for you after surgery. You are on your own to deal with whatever issues his surgery has left u with! Forgets major things even when u still can’t walk months after your back fusion. I still can’t work

Dr. Lee is a horrible surgeon. He does not care about his patients after surgery. He does not return patients phone calls. I think he is a quack litigation surgeon that make a patient worst for attorneys' cases. My wife had surgery from him and is worst off before the surgery. This quack when into my wife 3 times in 3 weeks. This guy license needs to be taken away from him. She had to go another doctor after being in constant pain. Please go to another surgeon for a second opinion before you allow this guy to cut on you. Please, please,please!

My visit with the doctor was so rushed and the staff is HORRIBLE ! Wendy will not get the mri orders to the imaging place. I've called twice and went in person on my lunch hour last week. Its been over a week and she still hasn't gotten the imaging place what they need. She has a horrible attitude to me. The imaging place said she also has an attitude with her. I've tried calling the office to speak directly to the doctor and also asked to see him the day I went in person and they refuse to let me. He needs to know how bad his staff is. The other staff members are covering for Wendy and will not let me talk to the doctor. I have seen this doctor before and his staff was different.

Older people are too "risky" and are not worthy of care or relief of pain. It's the system, not the individual doctor. Should you be over 65 , I'll bet my life that you'll agree with me. The die is cast;there is no hope .

Dr Lee operated on me 11/13/2019. He is an excellent Dr. He cares about his patients,. I am finally pain free. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I’ve had.

Everyone there was very friendly and easy to talk to. Made me feel right at home. The PA and Dr. Lee were very thorough in the questions they asked and explained everything so I could understand what was going on.

Love this place and this whole group of professionals! Great environment. Everyone is very patient and kind.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CHOOSE DR. LEE- I WANT TO PROTECT YOUR INTERESTS My mother worked for her school district for 15 years and saw him for severe lumbar stenosis. He recommended fusion surgery and we trusted him, but she came out exponentially worse than before. We later learned that she did not need it to begin with. The day after her release (two days after the surgery), she was rushed to the ER and was hospitalized for almost a MONTH with multiple infections, a psoas abscess, sepsis, a blood clot in a dangerous spot, and- here's the kicker- her brand new hardware was crushing her spinal cord. I have never seen a person cry in pain the way she was- I hadn’t even seen her cry from pain before. She was rendered disabled for the rest of her life and now exists in a constant state of agony. We returned to Dr. Lee, dumbfounded and heartbroken, and he denied everything. He denied that anything was even wrong and that she was in any pain! The fact of the matter is that he messed up during the procedure and it is undeniable. He denied, told her and her insurance companies that she was fine when she clearly was NOT, lied to us, strung us along and abused our trust while refusing to do ANYTHING for her, gaslighted every complaint, swept her under the rug, and then stopped seeing her altogether. He would not give us the name of the surgeon who he worked with on her procedure. Every doctor to see her since has said, "WOAH, who did this to you!?" and apparently no surgeon wants to try to clean up another surgeon's mess here (that is what we were told). Dr. Lee lied on the record about her state- yes, LIED, we have copies of the records- and REFUSED to write a letter or provide any documentation detailing her horrible condition because he knew it would mean ADMITTING TO HIS MISTAKE. He even went so far as to say that she was fine due to his "great" work when asked by her disability company! Because of this, the disability benefits that she paid into for 15 years (who had asked him for the documentation) dropped her completely, leaving her destitute, in horrendous pain, with no healthcare or income, while I was trying to work through college and then having to take care of her. Every avenue that she tried failed because of him lying to protect his ego and reputation. She now showers with a walker, does not (cannot) even leave the house unless she has to... and more, so much more, that I won't detail here because I am crying too hard writing this. Kenneth Lee robbed her of her liveliness and me of precious memories with my mother. My memories are instead of me sponge-bathing her and helping her with the bedpan in the hospital, and then helping her do virtually everything for months afterward. We have not been able to pick berries in the springtime together, or go fishing, or go on vacation, and more because the pain is unbearable. Now she is fighting aggressive cancer, and you know what? Sometimes she is relieved that she isn't doomed to be in this pain that he caused her for much longer. Dr. Kenneth Lee is a disgrace to the Hippocratic Oath and the medical community. He ruined my momma’s life and prevented her from getting any help or support just to protect his name. HE DOES NOT CARE. He only has whatever reputation and awards because he lies and casts off the patients that he does not help (or hurts). Please, listen to me- spinal health is so complicated that you need a surgeon who genuinely cares about your well being, would admit to a mistake and try to ameliorate it, would not recommend unnecessary or more complicated procedures for monetary benefit, would not lie on the record, will care for you until you are better-- need I go on? I was involved in August of 2017 in a serious car accident and suffered injuries to my neck and back. After visiting and being dissatisfied with several surgeons my girlfriend decided to look for one and came across Dr. Lee and said to see him. From his front end personel to the nurses and to the doctor himself I felt very comfortable start to finish. I'm very happy with the surgery that was performed and when I'm ready to have my lower back operated on I will be coming back here. Dr. Lee has perform 2 surgeries (lower back n neck) on me. I do have to say that dr. lee is a good doctor who knows what he is doing. For all them people who are trying to spread false rumours about dr. lee are wrong. Everyone who has had surgery know the consequence of having surgery. I was severely injured in a car accident. Instead of properly diagnosing me, Dr Kenneth Lee sent me straight in to receive ESI injections to dampen the pain. Later, I received an MRI that led to a diagnosis of 6 severely herniated discs. Dr Kenneth Lee just made my spine worse than it was to begin with AND was only after the insurance money. Kenneth Lee totally screwed my back up. I can not walk without horrible pain in my leg and foot. I did not have this pain before my back surgery and the pain continues to get worst. Modern Spine and Dr Lee seem to have many interests but patient care is not one of them. I can not even express to you how completely dangerous it is to go to this office. No one ever returns phone calls whether it is about increasing pain, questions about an MRI on which you were never notified of results, to wanting to complain about the lack of care and compassion to the office manager. From the front office not even making eye contact with me to Dr Lee's cocky assistant who spent ten minutes telling me about his less than stellar credentials, to his office manager who repeatedly (more than once) blamed her voice mail for not receiving my voice messages. Dr Lee ordered an MRI with contrast to see if my severe leg pain was caused by scar tissue at my past surgical site. I never received a call about the results and finally went in to pick up all of my records and reports plus the CDs. Guess what? The MRI shows scar tissue encasing my L-5/S1 spinal nerve!! Perhaps he didn't ever see the report? Or rushed through it and missed it? Regardless...I am now being treated by another spine surgeon. I gave them more than one chance and explained each time I was disappointed with their inefficiency or lack of caring. The fact is...no one cares at Modern Spine. My surgery was scheduled and then cancelled because my insurance would not approve it. They wanted more X-rays and op reports from my previous surgery. Within 24 hours I got them everything they wanted. But no one called. I left messages. Still, no one called. I found out from the hospital that my surgery was cancelled. They weren't going to waste any more of their time fighting for me with my insurance. It's really very sad that $$$ is a priority for them and not their patients. OH! And I am a nurse and a medical practice consultant. They absolutely and unequivocally get an "F" in my book. When the ancillary staff make he Dr look inept, then it's time to clean house. Dr. Lee did some extensive repair front and back - a fusion and two microdiscectomies (sp) in back - I am healing nicely. He is very compassionate, and shows you the problems on the computer so you know what is up.

I have had 2 surgical procedures that Dr Lee Did. L4L5-L5S1Fused in 2010 and C5-C6 in 2017 Fused. He is a Great Surgeon. His Assistant Sara, very Sweet. The entire office very caring. He’s not a Pain Management Doctor, but they will work diligently to find you one. I would refer anyone to Modern Spine.

Dr. Lee is a horrible doctor. He operated on my back and screwed up my foot and my leg. And he would not take responsibility for the obvious botched surgery he had formed.

A butcher! Told me I'd have a one and one-half in scar and laughed when I was horrified that I had a more than TWELVE INCH SCAR. I am in a wheelchair because of this incompetent doctor and his assistant. No followup and office staff does not relay messages or return calls.

He messed up my lamenectomy. Sewed me up while bleeding. Dismissed me immediately. Had to be readmitted for additional surgery. Have severe nerve damage . Rude and arrogant during post op visit said things go wrong sometimes. I did not sue, I think hospitals should monotor their doctors.

I suffered from leg pain for many years. Following a spinal fusion in 2003 with another doctor, the pain moved from my right leg to my left leg. I had pain for another 13 years. Christmas 2016 I met with DR Lee once and decided to go for it. We set up a surgery for a 360° fusion late December. The days of post op were tough, but the pain in my leg was gone! Doctor Kenneth Lee, and the folks at Modern Spine are ROCK STARS… Such Wonderful People. SIMPLY THE BEST THERE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Lee fixed my wife spine. Staff is great and all the cost was cover by my insurance.. he take his time to explain and care for his patients.... we are grateful to Moder Spine and Dr Kenneth Lee.

I had terrible pressure on my legs because of a spine problem. All other surgeons wanted to do a MAJOR BACK SURGERY to correct where my spine was pushing against my nerves. Dr Lee did about a 4 inch incesion and ground off the bone pushing against my nerves. Minor Surgery. No pain, no problems. I stayed over night a a precaution. I was walking the same day. Had lamanectony couldn't get over the surgery called his office every other day and told them how much pain I was in. His PA told I was addicted to drugs ended up at TMH WITH SPINAL LEAK BRAIN PUSHING DOWN IN NECK. I went thru hell for 6 weeks even ended up in hospital with him and still did not find spinal leak came to office and sent in PA WHICH WAS RUDE AND DID ANSWER MY QUESTIONS BEFORE TMH. I wanted to die! After Dr Yay repaired leak and found right diagnoses life is better. M Grotts

I've left a review before, but I don't see it here...I guess because it was not 'glowing'. Dr. Lee is an excellent physician, but he is hardly in the office anymore - off at conferences I guess. You will see him at your first appointment, but probably not much after that (you'll be seen by his PA instead) . Oh, make sure to verify your own insurance benefits they tried to charge me $125.00 up front when I was not due to pay anything. I also don't recommend for older patients/seniors.

Dr. Lee performed a disc fusion of C 3 through C 7 in November 2014. It has been 2 years and I have Enjoyed increased mobility and minimal pain compared to my discomfort prior to Dr. Lee's surgery.

I would not trust any other doctor for spinal care over Dr. Lee. During the course of my care I ran into multiple issues that needed followup hospital visits & surgeries (no fault off Dr. Lee, just my own bad luck) and was able to reach him after hours and he was able to come to the hospital and perform the surgeries no matter time of day or weekend. Dr. Lee treats you like family and is very thorough in his assessment and treatment plan. Best spinal DR in Houston by far!

Do not use this office. The Dr. Lee, requires you to take a drug test via urine and says the cost is on him and not the patients responsibility. This is a lie! Even after 18 months I'm still fighting him, his staff and the lab in South Carolina for over $950.00 for a drug screening. His office person Lisa does not know what she is doing. Beware of this entire outfit!! Run away as fast as you can. Do not use this office.
