I was beyond pleased with the complete process of Dr. Kunkel and his entire staff. He did a fleur de lis 360 tummy tuck with an abdominal lift on me and was able to remove 13lbs of excess skin. After almost 100lb weightloss, I was ready to finally feel comfortable in my skin. I’ve visited with other surgeons before, but had no luck finding someone that I was confident could fix my very deflated breast. I was referred to Dr. Kunkel by a coworker. My experience with Dr. Kunkel and his staff was amazing from start to finish. Their office is very welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. Amy was so kind and professional. Dr. Kunkel and his staff are so amazing. I went in for a breast reduction and they made the process so easy and non-stressful. They were all very supportive and I was in the best care I could have asked for. I would do it all over again with Dr. Kunkel!

If I could give Dr. Kunkel 10 stars, I would (in fact, he deserves more in my opinion). I was a breast cancer patient diagnosed in August of 2017. I was treated aggressively across my team of doctors given I was young and had a more aggressive form. When it came time to choose my plastic surgeon, I met with a couple of them locally in Fort Worth before meeting with and deciding on Dr. Kunkel. In my first meeting with Dr. Kunkel, he gave me hope and proposed a surgery option that was the best case in what I was hoping to achieve through reconstructive surgery. Of course, surgery options depend on a person's given situation, diagnosis, etc. Dr. Kunkel does cutting edge techniques and has great options for reconstruction patients, among others. When all was said and done with my 10 hour surgery (with my breast surgeon and then Dr. Kunkel coming in to do reconstruction), I had the BEST result, way better than I ever could have imagined. EVER. I had several friends tell me that my reconstruction looked way better than breast implant surgeries they had seen. Unfortunately, I had complications from radiation therapy creating wounds which resulted in more surgeries with Dr. Kunkel (3 more to be exact) and through it all, he and his office staff (Kirstin, Amy, Julie, Gena, and Donna) were amazing and all so supportive and compassionate. On one hand, I knew they felt bad for me, I was exhausted from what I was going through, but on the other hand (and more importantly), they are genuine people who really cared about me and my outcome. Dr. Kunkel has the best bedside manner, I could not have asked for a better surgeon, nor would I ever recommend anyone other than him for plastic surgery in DFW (just look at the results on his site)! I fully trusted him and his recommendations through every surgery and was never disappointed in the result. I am pregnant with my first child and can't wait to go back to him for future surgeries! I would be amiss if I didn't mention how amazing the office staff is at Dr. Kunkel's. This is the best group of office staff I have ever worked with, scheduling appointments is easy, insurance follow up has always been easy, but most of all these women feel like family to me. It should also go to show the loyalty they all have to Dr. Kunkel by their tenure there with him. Exceptional care, service, comfort, and the best results are what you will find with Dr. Kunkel and his staff. While it was difficult to go through the journey I did, I am so happy I came into contact with this office and feel as though I have forever friends here. From my first appointment to discuss the surgery, to working with Dr. Kunkels team to schedule, and all of my post-surgical care, I can't say enough about how much I appreciate this practice. I am so thankful for Dr. Kunkel and his staff. I had a double mastectomy and suffered from repetitive capsular contracture post operatively and Dr. Kunkel was able to surgically correct this issue. Through research, I discovered that capsular contracture was extremely difficult to conquer, but Dr. Kunkel was able to do what other surgeons were not able to do. When we discovered my wife had breast cancer, we both felt frightened and overwhelmed. Kirsten, Amy, Julie and all the staff were wonderful, professional, and empathetic before we consulted with Dr. Kunkel to discuss reconstruction options. The first visit lasted two plus hours as staff and Dr. Kunkel explained in detail various options, pros and cons, and what to expect overall. We did not feel pressured at any time during the 18-month process – my wife made her decisions and choices – and I along with Dr. Kunkel and his staff were there to honor and support her. I've been waiting almost 20 years just to go to Dr. Kunkel. Yes, 20 years! My best friend went to him and got a breast augmentation and I was sold! I never had to interview any other doctors. I chose him! It didn't matter if I never met him but his work was amazing. I knew of more friends that went to him and so finally for my 40th bday and after having 3 kids I finally got my wish. He is very professional, his office staff is wonderful. I had some complications due to some allergies but he took calls and checked up on me and truly cared. Dr Kunkel is brilliant, an absolutely brilliant Doctor. I am so grateful I was referred to him. He is the most organized, meticulous, and thorough doctor I have ever met. Dr Kunkel did a breast revision and reconstruction on my previous mastectomy that over the years has caused me so much pain getting through the day was exhausting. The fear that i was going to have to accept that this would be my life was approaching, and then I met Dr Kunkel. I am 3 days post op and already feel like a brand new woman and in no pain! I am not a fan of narcotics, and thankfully Dr Kunkel has a unique approach when it comes to medicine and post op pain. He uses a combination of meds that research has shown to help decrease the need and/or frequency of narcotics after surgery and it works! I have pain medication if I need it but have only used it twice. Unbelievable! Dr Kunkel is a Godsend, and I am so grateful for him. He (better than any of the many doctors I was seeing) knew the feelings of a newly diagnosed cancer patient. He is really a very caring and funny guy but he tries not to show the humorous side of him. Dr Kunkel treated me for suspected implant leak from implants I had placed over 30 years ago. He did a bilateral explant on me and I had opted at the time not to have them replaced. He was kind and listened to me and my concerns. The office staff was great and made the whole process easy and comfortable. Dr. Kunkel is a perfectionist, and as a patient, I am the beneficiary of that. I was advised by more than one surgical nurse, that Dr. Kunkel is top gun among his peers. He cares deeply about his patients, and, being a difficult patient, I have tested that belief to the limit! We are not finished with the reconstruction process after breast cancer, but I know that I am in the best possible hands, and so far, my outcome has been amazing!

I was simply not impressed. The office environment and exam room seemed cold and uninviting. I felt judged by the nurse, as if my insecurities were unjustified or I was stupid to think there was something wrong with me. Dr Kelly Kunkel, in my strong opinion is the best plastic surgeon in the DFW area. He is extremely professional and informative. He is patient and will listen to any and all of your questions, and concerns. Not only is he wonderful, but all of his office staff are quite wonderful and extremely friendly. Not one moment are you ever uncomfortable or left feeling awkward. The consultation process is definitely one to write about. It is what sold me and I scheduled my surgery that very day. Most places will let you wear a bra with different size and types of implants. He has a sort of simulation factor. The ladies will take photos of your breasts and then load them into the system and you can actually virtually see what you would look like with different sizes and types of implants. The day of the surgery is just as easy as well, everything runs very smoothly and you do also meet with Dr Kunkel before the surgery. Prior to surgery Dr Kunkel and his staff will prepare you for all you need to know before, during and after the surgery. Everyone is very informative and makes sure that you are comfortable and left with no unanswered questions. From my first contact with Jennifer in the office, my experience was pleasant and I was guided each step of the way from insurance approval to great aftercare. I would recommend Dr. Kunkel to anyone. He was friendly at every visit, patient, gentle, and took his time to answer all of my questions. Anytime I had a concern he was always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. His office staff is so friendly and helpful. I had a breast reduction and they turned out amazing! I feel like a teenager again with no back pain from my breast being so large. If I ever bring myself to have a tummy tuck Dr. Kunkel will be the doctor to do it!

Dr Kunkel has done major reconstructive surgery on me following a breast cancer diagnosis. I have been thrilled with the results. I had fears of horrible disfigurement after surgery but to my astonishment and delight, it was as if Dr Kunkel read my mind and created what I had hoped for. His surgical talents are truly a gift and I feel blessed to be under his care. He is very thorough and honest with what he believes will be both the healing process and surgical outcome. EXCELLENT SURGEON.
