Dr. Kathleen Brigid Trainor

Very similar to the previous respondent. Dr. Trainor did primarily "joint sessions" with my son and I which mostly consisted of asking him how his day was and how he was feeling, etc. She offered very basic suggestions like setting a reward. She often double-spoke and went back on things she previously said (e.g., said he would need medication, said he did not need medication). She was not available on a regular basis when needed for consultation. Her affect was flat and she was not effective in teaching CBT techniques or promoting psychoeducation regarding the symptoms of treatment needs for ADHD. Extremely disappointing

She overcharged us. Stating that she was not in Network. What a shame.

After 8 months of therapy with Dr. Trainor, our child's OCD worsened, and she never provided the gold standard treatment of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).

She was very nice and likable. Just never did figure out in the 8 months she saw my son what exactly was the Trainor method and how it worked. There were many sessions of her telling us to set goals and buy rewards for my son for achieving them. No real therapy or support or CBT. I am not sure what we were expecting but both my child and I were just kind of lost as to what the magic was here and when it was going to start.
