Dr. Karl E Bolstad

This has been the Ortho from the start for me and my older brother, this dr won’t respond or talk to you it’s like having to drag words out of him, what is wrong with him I’ve asked myself more than once At 14yrs old, a pin in knee h Im sick over this surgery he done a year ago this month. The morning after surgery, I knew something waS Wrong. in follow ups, I tried to tell him it wasnt right, he would look at me, shrug his shoulders and say, I dont know what to tell you and instead of giving a few scripts of gabapentin, refers me to the pain clinic I was already going to for years. I wasnt asking for pain meds, I had those, I wanted HELP knowing and finding what went wrong. this made my 3rd knee surgery, so I was sure something wassnt right. after total healing, I was right, the knee is ruined It wont bend and stiff, and the 3 krispy boys are at work daily, Snap, Crackle, and Pop ! when i try to get up, i cant hardly, for the crunching and pain, butand when laying, i cannot bend knee leg out without having to take the other leg foot to push it out straight. only way to fix this is have a 4th knee surgery by another ortho, to fix the problem, replace it, only if that can be done ! my brother as well, at 10 had 40 sone stitches in both knees with plates, same dr. bolstad, years later he removed those plates and has yet to have newer parts installed, he is on special meds, which the dr was told and knew by our mother, what pain meds wouldnt go with, lithium, haldol, well it left his thinking, health risks, messed up for sometime, now my brother dont trust to go get the rest of it c ompleted, he cant hardly walk without problems umtil the procedure is completed. and is in horrif pain as well. there has been negligence here I feel, its as though once a surgery is done, the money is made , it stops there, wheres the care at after the fact, in finding the problem or solution? my 80 yr old mother can attest to this. i hope this helps somebody out there. stuck with the affter effects ! Dr. Bolstad and his staff provided eccellent care. Dr. Bolstad was very through and had very caring manner. Also, I had very short wait time.

My husband is in Baptist hospital fighting for his life. Dr. Bolstad operated on his elbow in Dec. 2018. He sees Dr. Bolstad once a week, nurse twice a week .It's now March 2019. While under his care he has gotten an infection that has gotten into his bloodstream. He's in ICU on a ventilator, dialysis, feeding tube, all because Dr. Bolstad did not do his job. Second operation on elbow pending at Baptist. Dr. Bolstad should retire.

This office has the best staff of any Dr. office I have ever been to in Lexington. They are very kind and treat you as they would want to be treated. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and the nurses are very caring. My mom's nurse was Rhonda and she was awesome. Dr.Bolstad took his time in talking with us about the surgery and took the time to think everything through before making any decisions. I would recommend this office to anyone who asked. I would give Dr Bolstadca ten for my uncles surgery in two weeks his arm was mobile after rotor cuff surgery!

Dr. Bolstad is an excellent surgeon. He is always interested in what I have to report in way of my condition and progress, takes time and never rushed, and very thorough in explaining. He performed surgeries for my Dad over the years, has performed one surgery for me and I plan a second in the very near future. Definitely a '5 star' physician.

This is honestly the WORST set of doctors you can possibly find. If you want to be treated unfairly, talked down upon, and almost forgotten if you don't have insurance this is your place. Bolstad is the worse of the set so beware! Spend your money elsewhere!

Dr Bolstad was very courteous and up front about my current condition and situation. He did not beat around the bush and answered all of my wife's and mine's questions promptly and truthfully. I came in as a work comp case for a split tendon in my ankle. Dr. Bolstad's first question to me was, 'Why are you here?' Keep in mind I've had a boot on for the past 2 months, which was still on my foot at the time. I didn't appreciate his lack of empathy and outright rudeness towards me. I just wanted to say, I'm in pain and in your professional help as I can't fix it! He dismissed me promptly and referred me to Wake, which I'm hoping to get a better response. It will be in my (and everyone else's) best interest to stay away from this doctor as one of the key statements that made me want to run for the hills was, 'I don't know how to fix that, let me do some research'...no thanks doc I'm out of there!

Would highly recommend Dr. Bolstad or any other doctor in this practice. Never had to wait a long time after sign in and he always takes his time in explaining things and listening to concerns.

This doctor needs to find another profession! Do not go to him if you value your health and body. He is ruining peoples lives left and right. I know believe me! Run ...Run ...Run..find another doctor!

I would not recommend anyone to Dr Bolstad. I know several people that have used him. He did them no good, only harm. He's not that concern about you. And let's things get out of hand, until you have to see another doctor to fix what he has let get out of control.
