Where's the zero star option? Karen (a total Karen) Sundby performed what was supposed to be Moh's TISSUE SAVING surgery on my face for a teeny tiny squamous cell cancer that was the size of a pin head. I chose a female surgeon thinking she'd have more compassion and really go layer by layer. I could not have been anymore wrong about this assumption. She completely hacked my face and didn't exercise tissue saving whatsoever. After her first (and ONLY) biopsy, I asked for a mirror to see what it looked like and almost vomited. She took an area about the size and depth of a nickel. After the first pass she proudly came back and said, "we got clean margins!!!". Oh really?!? Of course you got clean margins with that shovel sized scoop you took. As she was stitching my face back up and I was holding back tears she quips, "oh, btw, your face may have a permanent pinch in this area because of the way I had to stitch it together but maybe not, only time will tell as your skin stretches over time." Needless to say, I was devastated. Devastated that I thought finding a female Moh's surgeon was the right thing to do to avoid further damage. As I was checking out I overheard Karen discuss how she was running late to a meeting and that's when it all made sense. She was rushing my procedure because she had plans. In no way did she perform Moh's surgery on me but rather a wide local excision on my face because she couldn't be bothered going layer by layer and checking it under the microscope. HORRIBLE and NEGLIGENT to the core. Patient BEWARE!!!

I recently had Moh's surgery on my leg. paperwork, preparation, and the office visit itself were all professional. The staff obviously loves working in that office... BTW the artwork and office are all lovely

I MOHS surgery with Dr Sundby yesterday. My entire experience from calling to inquire about scheduling with her through being stitched up was as positive as it could be. All of my questions were answered along the way with every interaction with staff members being both professional and compassionate. Dr. Sundby is an exceptional surgeon and her RN, Annie, is outstanding. She performed a Mohs surgery on my nose and she really did a wonderful job. She expertly excised a carcinoma from my nose and masterfully closed and stitched the wound. You can hardly tells I had this procedure and my nose looks great! I highly, highly recommend her to anyone needing a Mohs' procedure. Dr. Sundby is busy, but absolutely worth the wait!

Caring and kind staff and lovely facility.

Called to for a appointment for Mohs. They made an appointment and said that they would call one to two business days to let me know my cost. I called back the next day because I wanted to budget. They told me I needed $3,000 upfront. They don't take payment plans. Who has that kind of money laying round, especially during a pandemic??? I told her I didn't have $3,000 upfront and she basically blew me off. She treated me as if it was an elective surgery for a nose job and not for melanoma! They don't care about the patients. Just getting their money is how they made me feel! I don't recommend them at all!

I required Mohs surgery on my face. After “fighting” with UC health Mohs department trying to get an appointment and an estimate for 4 months, a neighbor told me about Dr. Sundby. I called her office and within an hour I had an appointment for the following week and a general estimate. The whole experience has been lovely. I had the surgery yesterday and not only did they do a great job, but they clearly care a lot about patient comfort. I highly recommend the practice.

Dr. Sunby and staff are always punctual and courteous. Her work is t I totally professional.

The staff here and doctor are so friendly and kind. They make you feel like you are the most important person that they will see today. Knowledgeable and informative.

Dr. Johnson is when compassionate physician that makes you extremely comfortable at one of your most vulnerable time. To much time in the sun during my younger days are now taking their toll. She will not judge. She’ll just address and fix the problem.

Punctual, prepared, professional, personal. This rating extends to the entire office and medical staff. Had Mohs surgery today and was treated with respect, reflection and with all pertinent information and guidance for aftercare. Clearly this reflects the attitude and leadership of Dr. Johnson.

Don't waste your time!! Unless you have hours to wait for a scheduled appointment. It's unprofessional and RUDE to make someone wait an hour and 45 minutes for a 5 minute appointment. I politely said I'd be going to a different dermatologist because this is the THIRD time I've waited for an hour + for a scheduled appointment. Dr. Sundby had the nerve to tell me I was late...when in fact I arrived on time. She was confrontational and demonstrated POOR bedside manners. Helpful, friendly and fast front desk experience. Dr. Sundby focuses upon the details and is very thorough. I thank you for providing top-notch quality care to my loved one.

I have nothing but praise and thanks to give to Dr. Sundby. Your staff are wonderful and you are a consummate professional. The fact I was scheduled, seen and treated within a 72-hour window is awe-inspiring. I encourage everyone to ignore the 1-Star reviews of the atrabilious malcontents as SPAM.

I have had Mohs surgery twice by Dr. Karen Sundby, now going in for my 3rd. I have had to reschedule 2x now, and her staff is very helpful. The two previous procedures were on my face, and there is not a trace of a scar. 5+ stars.

Doctor Sundby has always been very professional and pleasant.

I have seen Dr. Sundby for three Mohs surgeries over the past 5 years. I could not be more pleased with the outcomes of the surgeries or her staff. My regular Dermatologist told me that Dr. Sundby is better than most of the Plastic Surgeons she knows and I believe it. My wife has also had a couple of Mohs procedures with Dr. Sundby and neither of has visible scarring.

Dr. Sundby needs some help with her scheduling. She only has 1 day to see patients in the office and its obvious she over schedules. It's unfair to make patients wait 1 hour and 45 minutes for a scheduled appointment that took 5 minutes. This is the 3 time I have waited for an hour+ for a quick check up. When I politely asked for other doctor referrals, she got defense and blamed me for being late. I arrived on time and didn't appreciate her poor bedside manner.

Highly competent, extremely conscientious and hard-working, and extremely friendly, respectful and courteous, as is her entire staff. One of her nurses confided to me once that "Dr. Sundby's (Johnson's) patients always come first." After many visits with her, I can attest to that as true. Never liked a physician more than I like her. I'd give her and her staff ten stars if that were an option.

While Dr. Sundby gets good reviews for her work, she and her staff are utterly incapable of scheduling their services. On my first visit, I waited two and a half hours for a ten minute procedure. I raised the issue with them at that time. The post-procedure follow-up was scheduled for 10:00 AM some weeks later. I held out hope but what promised to be a two-minute inspection of the wound became a fifty-minute history lesson in the waiting room. By all means, if you have all of the time in the world and don't mind showing up at 7:15 AM to be seen at 10 AM, she's your gal. Outstanding!!!!! The staff was A+ and extremely professional!!!! Dr Sundby herself is excellent in chairside manner and treatment.

Dr Sundby-Johnson and her staff were outstanding. Her bedside manners are awesome, the staff is friendly, I honestly had fun joking around with the entire team. The surgery went well and I have no scarring at all. You cannot tell I had surgery on my face.

I had a Mohs procedure performed to remove basal cell carcinoma when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. Dr. Sundby and her staff were all very knowledgeable and courteous. Their friendly and professional demeanor put me at ease. Everyone was thorough and instructions were detailed for both the procedure and follow-up appointments.

Dr. Sundby and her staff are unable to maintain any kind of schedule. You wait hours for a simple consult and procedure. Two and a half hours for a ten minute procedure. I held out hope that the follow-up exam a month later would be a reasonable wait. Fifty minutes later I left, unseen, and the staff looked at me like cattle grazing along a highway. Now, I have to reverse the credit card charge that paid for the appointment in advance. When it comes to payments, they insist on promptness.

Wonderful Mohs surgeon. Explains the process very well so it is not so overwhelming. Gave great, detailed post op instructions.

Rather rude front office. I called to schedule an appointment to have a mole looked at and removed. I was told that the doctor will only look at me if it's skin cancer or I have a history of skin cancer, otherwise I'd need to have it evaluated elsewhere. REALLY? Wow.

I found her staff and Dr. Sundby very friendly ,courteous and professional. I was very upset when i arrived and they helped to put me at ease.Her staff is by far more that 5 stars! When Dr.Sundby came in I could feel she was truly concerned about me. My first procedure went well and feel that my next procedure she will do her best work on me. Highly recommend this group of true professionals.

I was referred to her for Mohs, made appt, office didn't provide much information. I asked for a consult first, was told that it would take longer to get a consult than the actual procedure. Schedule the procedure. I called the day before to find if preauth was made. Was told to expect to pay $400-$950 on day of procedure. No payment plan options. They could have called me prior with this information. No compassion, no faith in going there at all. Rescheduled with a better provider.

Dr Sundby is thorough, friendly and very matter-of-fact. Her office is run like a machine - super efficient, yet not at all cold. She is often able to do small treatments on the spot. She's a great listener and is always upbeat and happy to see you!

This was my second visit with Dr. Johnson and can not say enough good things about her and her staff. She has removed basil cell cancer from both sides of my nose and unless you knew that my nose had been worked on you could never know it.

Her nurses, medical assistants are the best. Everyone in the office is so friendly and capable at what they do. If you need Mohs surgery in the Denver metro area, she is the one doctor that you want to see. The office is extremely clean including each of the surgical suites. I've had over a dozen moles removed (mostly large moles) and her incision was far more extensive and done in a direction that caused it to split open while tying my shoes (an activity that I asked her staff about when the incision felt a little tight and her staff said, "It won't be a problem.") -Then, she charged me to fix the split stitch even though a friend that is a surgeon and looked at pictures said that she should have used a different closing technique given the location. -Doctor sent me to collections, because (per the insurance company that I tried to blame first) her staff didn't do the paperwork submission properly.
