Dr Gupta is an amazing doctor. I have complete faith in him. He has a great bedside manner and explained my procedure to where I knew what to expect. He took as much time as he needed to make me feel comfortable and important. As busy as he was, he didn’t rush our visit.

Dr. Gupta and his staff went above and beyond to meet my expected and unexpected optical needs, even on a busy day. They are kind, careful, considerate and competent.

Dr. Gupta is a wonderful and caring person. He has been my ophthalmologist for at least 25 years. He answers any questions or concerns with the patient. I highly recommend Dr. Gupta.

Poor availability, Dr. Gupta only had appointments on Wednesdays, I had to take time off work to make the appointment and the day of my appointment, his unprofessional office staff called me to ask if I can come to the appointment earlier as he has had cancellations throughout the day and would like to leave the office early. I told them I was planning to leave my work early to come to my scheduled appointment and I would not be able to come earlier then my scheduled appointment. I was then told that I will "have to" reschedule since the doctor wants to leave early due to earlier cancellations in his offie schedule.

Front desk staff is loud. Sharing PHI loudly for all in the waiting room to hear. The staff member that took my mom in the back was rude, acted like she didn’t like her job. Didn’t introduce herself, just called my mom’s name and turned her back and walked back to the exam room. My mom has been coming here for years and has never encountered this at this office before. Everyone, everywhere is short staffed. We are all sick of hearing people say that. I’m a nurse and even before COVID we were short staffed at my job but did we let it make us rude or disrespectful, no we didn’t. Find a new job if you don’t like it here. Dr. Gupta & his staff were amazing with my grandmother. They treated her with such respect for being such a fiesty 95 year old, I am very happy & would recommend them.

Great doctor! He was very caring and takes time to make sure you understand diagnosis.

The staff is awesome I wouldn't trust another eye doctor other then Dr Gupta I have to get injections every two wks and he's very good at it can't thank him enough for helping me be where I am today with my eye sight he's a blessing to me

Dr.Gupta and his staff are friendly, kind and caring and yet professional. Questions are answered appropriately and time is taken to explain when the answer is not understood.

Friendly staff and knowledgeable doctor.

Came there with my 91 yr old mother who was in a wheelchair. Crowded waiting room, long wait and rude, inattentive staff. Front desk staff didn't even acknowledge us when we came to the front desk. They ignored us. Received sarcastic comments from a woman named Laurie. She worked there but didn't introduce herself and what her role was there. I asked her if my mom should sit in the exam chair and she said sarcastically "If she wants to get her eyes examined." She clearly was not happy and seemed to hate her job. They don't answer their phones indian drs = longwaiting and awful service only in it for money ...

We are here currently. Waited until 11:40 for a 10:15 appt. There are far too many people in here. No one is enforcing the protocols they supposedly have in place. The staff is being rude about my frustration with the wait. Appt at 10:15, we weren’t finished there until 12:20. Unacceptable

Avoid like the plague. Most dishonest period.

I might be weird about my eyes. I've never had any problems with them or needed anyone for them. I have a sty and have never had one before. I told the blonde I didn't want anything to touch my eyes and asked questions about what she was doing and what her thoughts were. She evaded answering questions like, what does that tool do and how does it work. She said she needed to measure my pupils, gave me some eyedrops, then used a tool that rested on my forehead. Afterwards she turned around and said, there i touched your eye and you didn't even feel it. I feel very disrespected and feel deeply taken advantage of and upset. AVOID !!! This place is scary. I went in for a simple eye exam because I had been referred by LensCrafters. First the nurse dilated my eyes without telling me what she was doing which completely shot the rest of my workday ..then I was told I could drive home but upon leaving could barely see. The doctor did a full exam without ever noticing I was wearing contacts which I told the nurse I had in and was not told I needed to take out . But when I told them they were in again everyone was visibly upset and they needed to do the exam over . How the doctor didn’t notice I was wearing contacts while looking at my eyes through microscope I have no idea .The doctor then told me I needed laser surgery Which he wanted to do immediately but when I told him I needed to check with my insurance he repeatedly said “doesn’t matter if your insurance covers it you just need to get it done don’t worry about insurance”. They would not give me the pricing of the surgery and were visibly upset with me wanting to contact my insurance agency. While calling my insurance agency the doctor came and checked on me and repeatedly stated if there was insurance problem to get it (the surgery) done anyway which I would understand if I had vision problems or if there was an emergency need but there was not I left and will never return. Am sorry to say but the staff that makes the appointments at both Brownstown and Wayne office is nasty. The only dates they have are like three months away. Can u imagine i made appointment in June 2017 to Visit dr. Gupta in August 2017, they setup an appointment for August 2018, I get a call that dr. Gupta will be on vacation I should move my appointment to September. I moved it September 19 but had to reschedule it and now the receptionist says that dr Gupta will be on vacation and will be available after October 8th and that too at 12 like in the middle of the workday...... this is so fked up....... I recently had laser surgery on both eyes for cataracts. The surgery was very easy and quick as well as a total success. I was very happy with both the surgery and with all of the medical personnel I encountered at the Brownstown facility. I also received explicit instructions to follow before and after the surgery from all the staff and the doctors. I would recommend Dr. Gupta and Eye Clinics of Michigan to anyone needing any type of eye care. I recently had laser surgery on both eyes for cataracts. Office staff is extremely rude,can not get billing straight, they call you day before appt.to verify and when I got there they said I have to reschedule because they did not do the billing correctly.very unprofessional and RUDE staff!! Would have given 0 stars!

Dr Gupta is a good doctor however his office staff is ruining his reputation. Over booked all the time, waiting in the waiting room for 2 hours when you have one of the first appointments of the day. It’s just unacceptable. Very interested when you are emergent but not so much when the emergency is over and you are in maintenance mode. Save yourself the stress and find a different doctor.

BILLING!! My father got a $300 bill for a so called treatment that took place in 2015 and this is 2018. The BIG PROBLEM is my father passed away in 2013. Also, they billed the same treatment twice. This is a comment regarding staff @ Brownstown office. I thought I was receiving my annual exam. Only had a glaucoma exam by a technician that fell asleep. Front desk staff was loud & rude to 2 patients that had referral issues. I paid $35 for a 15” test, after waiting 50”. I was informed I must return in a few weeks for my actual physician exam. I needed to wait for glaucoma test results?? I have never had 2 separate appointments & of course 2 co- pays.

after waiting 6 weeks for the appointment for my 10-year-old daughter, we were waiting in the office for more than 3 hours to finally see the Dr. only to be told that they don't normally see pediatric patients and to book with a pediatric ophthalmologist and/or a cornea specialist. Now not only do we need to find another Dr. she'll have to miss a day of school. The staff should have known this upon scheduling the appointment. I'm extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I'm sure, however, they'll bill my insurance for a new patient visit even though we left with nothing, not even a referral to someone else or a prescription for her glasses. Excellent care, very friendly and professional! I received top notch care and service!

Dr. Kamal Gupta is definitely not one of the better ophthalmologists. I had cataract surgery from this guy. Surgery staff is good, but dr is not. I had a complication after surgery, called him, and he dismissed me saying I just had surgery. No advice. BAD DOCTOR! Luckily I did not trust him and went to another doctor who promptly found extremely high eye pressure and treated it with other meds. Other issues with the Dr too but out of space to type. Evasive, lawyerish, office staff...stay away!

My grandma waited 1 HOUR and 10 minutes past her appointment time until she got called back. When I asked when she was being seen, I was continuously told "we're busy today, we're busy today." Multiple other patients were complaining about the wait and other family members who were complaining were told by patients that "it's always like this here." There is really no excuse. It is unacceptable for any doctor to make a patient wait that amount of time past their appointment. I see another ophthalmologist and have never waited more than 10 minutes. Great Staff Does Good Work

Most unorganized office anyone will ever encounter. I have had frequent eye treatments at the clinic and have been in every procedure room and they lack an autoclave which is mandatory to steralize surgical tools, and that's not all they lack. They lack the concern to organize the office, schedule, and patient flow. Dont make an appointment there because if you have a 9 am appointment he doesn't show up until 10, and then the whole day is pushed back an hour, wait time 1.5-2 hrs MINIMUM!

I have no complaints about the doctors, but the staff is the worst I ever encountered. I know health care (Director of Data Processing for Midwest Home Health Care for 5 years) and this is staff is the worst there is, especially the billing. They overbilled me and I had to get the insurance to intervene. I paid for everything and my check clears, then they send me another invoice for the same thing threatening to refer it to a collection agency.

I recently had cataract laser surgery on both of my eyes and the surgery was performed b Dr. Gupta. My recovery time on both eyes has been quick and pain free! Dr. Gupta is a wonderful man and very personable. His staff is very nice also. I would highly recommend Dr. Gupta for any of your vision needs.

The worst office staff I have ever encountered. Not only did I wait for what felt like a lifetime, I also got to listen to the staff talk about drinking, how she can't because she has community service and I watched another look up monster jam tickets on the office computer. Wait there's more.....when I called to make the appt the staff didn't know if they were open on friday. How is it you work in a place and not know what days your open? The rest of the staff does not have any personality
