Dr Wong has been our doctor for about 5 years and I always appreciate her commitment and concerns while doing our eye exam. She truly cares about her patients.

Dr Wong has been our optometrist for years now, we are a family of 5 and are all in glasses and contacts. She has been the best we’ve ever seen and we will continue to see her. She can answer any question we ask and is very knowledgeable in all types lenses whether they be contacts or glasses

My wife went a couple of weeks ago. To get yearly contact order placed. She placed her order and they told her that in order to receive the rebate she had to get another exam. She wasn’t due for one until the end of the year. So I don’t know why she needed another one just for the rebate. The male staff member there was acting very childish and was on his phone. Called months ago and asked if they take Aetna Vision insurance. The front desk said yes, so I made an appointment for 2 months out. The day prior, they asked me to register online, and Aetna was not an option, so I called. They then informed me that they do not take Aetna insurance, so I wasted 2 months.

The staff at Dr. Wong's were awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The attention I received from Dr. Wong was very thorough answering my questions in a very friendly manner. Thank you all very much it was a great experience

BEWARE the hidden fees! Gave this place two chances both times I got hit with hidden fees. Dr. Seemed unconnected and not at full attention. Also waited to the end to tell me about the new machine that took some photos at the beginning of the appointment that of course came with additional cost. This wasn’t the case the first time around. I am so impressed with Dr. Wong and her staff! They have been nothing but kind and helpful! You do not get customer service like this anymore!! I hope they are around for a long time bcause I can't imagine going anywhere else.

In June, 2021 I purchased an annual supply of Contacts and was given a Rebate Coupon from Dr. Joyce Wong's office. I had 60 days to submit the Coupon and within 2 days I mailed the required Rebate Documents. After 60 days I realized that I had not received the Rebate so I called Dr. Wong's office and asked for their assistance. They quickly called the Contact Lense Rep and were informed that I had not registered on-line before I mailed in the Rebate and therefore I would not be receiving the Rebate because the Deadline of 60 days had passed. Me not receiving the Rebate was 100% my error however, Dr. Wong offered to write me a check for the full amount of the Rebate even though Dr. Wong's office had done nothing wrong as it was my error. I declined the check offer from Dr. Wong's office because it was my error. This generosity and caring from Dr. Wong and her Staff goes way beyond Excellent Customer Service . 100% Love this staff. I have been coming here for years and no matter what is going on or how busy; Jackie, Mia, Breanna and Evonne always look like they are having fun and enjoy their job. That is hard to find sometimes. Keep up the great work

The staff is helpful and attentive and Dr. Wong herself is thorough and professional. The office was clean and neat and the process was streamlined with little wait time. They have a great selection of glasses too! 10/10 recommend.

This was my first visit to a new Dr. after my Dr. retired. From the first phone call to her office I felt welcomed. Dr. Wong was very kind and spent plenty time of time with me. I am so happy to have found someone to take care of my gift of sight.

I just moved to El Paso when I had an accident that needed medical attention. I found Dr Wong's number online and saw that her office was open on a Saturday. I called and they took me right in. Dr. Wong was amazing. She went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. She discovered that I had 4 corneal abrasions and they were severe. To make sure I was healing well and had no further issues, Dr. Wong had me follow up with her the next day on Sunday. She made a special trip for me, to open and come in on her day off. I don't recommend this place for eye exams and for buying frames. They have the worst customer service and they mixed up my prescription.

Avoid this place!!!!!!! Look for another doctor! I sat in their waiting room for 30 minutes and was never seen. I asked to reschedule my appointment and they don’t have any until next month. I wish I had listened to the WARNINGS from previous reviews before going back. Based on my experience they are not wrong. "Knowledge" does not equal empathy or professionalism. It's been about a year since I went. A bit longer. But man I made the wrong choice. I may have caught her on a bad day, but man she was impatient. Obviously for a vision test they give you options. "Which is better, 1 or 2?" She was so impatient, rushing me, god forbid I asked to go back to compare it she acted like I was taking forever. And it shows. Went here for a contact exam and got charged for contact and glasses exam. I told the receptionist they I ONLY wanted contact and age said both had to be done. I have never heard of such a thing with other optometrist. Additionally, I left the office with contacts that were not my right prescription. I made my first appointment as a new patient on 01/13 at 4pm. I arrived at 3:45 and called from my car to check in as instructed. By 4:30 I hadn’t been called in yet so I called back. The lady told me that the tech had just taken someone back and I was next in line. She then tells me it should be about 30 minutes. I tell her that my appointment was at 4pm and now she is telling me I won’t get in until 5pm?? She get’s snarky and said well we did get behind today. That far behind?? You can’t call me and reschedule? You can’t ask me to come at 5pm? No respect for a patient’s time to have them sitting in their car for an hour. I tell her I am canceling because I’m not waiting an hour past my appointment time, I’ve got other things to get done this evening. She says ok call us back when you want to reschedule. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. This was my 4th year coming to this place. I understand that due to Covid there has to be changes but it’s still poor service. I showed up early to my appointment, the nurse saw me standing and just kept saying “I’ll be right with you” didn’t bother to take my name. Finally after 3 check ins while I’m standing outside another nurse takes my name. 15 min to by and I see another person walk in. When I call to see how much longer they say 25 min that the dr had just brought in a patient a few minutes ago. Unbelievable. I have never had a worse experience at an eye doctors in my life. I was in tears of frustration after my initial visit, but since they already had my money I had to go back for a follow up. I waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen all three times I was there. The staff was surly and rude. They did not want to explain my benefits or help me find the best use of my money. Dr Wong is the WORST optometrist I've ever been too. After being forced to like what I was given for a prescription, I knew it wasn't right. I went to another optometrist for a 2nd opinion and now can see better than I've seen in the last 10 years. I kept saying I can read the small letters but they are not sharp. That didn't seem to matter as long as I could mostly read them. Dr Wong don't care to listen and find other alternatives to get you the best eye sight possible. I used up all of my insurance with total cost close to $1000 and my out of pocket being $600. My 2nd opinion cost me another $500 for to me was worth it to have something very important to anyone to be able to see perfectly. STAY AWAY. Would give negative stars if I could. Appointment started almost 2 hours late because they "couldn't find my number" even though I called them when I arrived on time at 10AM and they have caller ID. The doctor was rude and condescending throughout the eye exam. Then to top it off, the desk staff were completely useless in verifying my coverage. I had had to call my insurance to verify (isn't that their job?) even though I had checked online before scheduling. Even after letting them talk directly to an insurance rep who verified my coverage levels and that they are in-network, they kept acting like I was trying to pull a fast one on them or something. How do they not know which insurance companies they work with?! I used to go to Dr. Wong years back and recently decided to go back with her this year. Words can’t express how shocked I was to see how much she has changed. She was very rude, almost looked annoyed the minute she walked in. I was so hurt to be treated the way I was. Dr. Wong made comments regarding my eye makeup and looked disgusted by it. She also rushed through my exam and then spoke to me in a passive aggressive way when I failed to read the letters at the end of my exam. My son also told me after we left that he saw her roll her eyes during my exam when she turned around. I was so close to telling her how uncomfortable she was making me feel, and the only reason I didn’t was because of the relationship I have developed with the staff from the previous years. I'm always impressed how quickly they can schedule you in for an appointment and they treat each patient like a priority. However, I wish they would have you wait in your car until they are ready for you, during this Covid 19 time.

Lots of COVID precautions: cleaning of doors, pens, and equipment. There was an air cleaner in the lobby. They had lots of hand sanitizer. Everyone was masled up. From the front desk to the doctor we were impressed with the service.

Great Doctor! My daughter has been wearing glasses since she was 4 and no one has ever taken the time to explain her condition and how to possibly improve it. Other reviewers complain about wait times without realizing this is a medical practice; a great one at that.

After struggling for a couple of weeks to get contacts without an updated prescription from her office; Dr Wong was able to provide us with 6 months worth of daily contacts :) he is military and overseas. This will hopefully hold him until he can get to an eye doctor for an updated prescription.Due to Covid-19 and being out in the field this has been a struggle for him. I had an eye injury after small pieces of PVC went into my eye. I stopped by Dr. Wong's office but they were closed. I knocked on the door and Dr. Wong was waiting for a package. Did she turn me away? Not a chance, she walked me in and performed emergency eye exam removing a large chunk that could have caused further injury. Staff is friendly, Dr. Wong is not. This is not my first time at her office, but it certainly will be my last after this most recent visit. She’s extremely condescending and passive aggressive. When I explained my financial situation didn’t allow me to afford daily contact lenses, she suggested I eat out less? Who says things like that? She’s clearly a very knowledgeable doctor, but that knowledge seems to have come at a cost to her bedside manner (or lack thereof). Won’t bother returning to a place where the physician lets out a very audible sigh every time I have trouble picking between “number 1 and number 2”. Do yourself a favor and find a more friendly eye doctor. Unfortunately, money makes the world go round— so maybe a lack of patients (and their payments) might be the thing she needs to be nicer to her patients.

Worst experience ever. They double bill me twice.

I was a new patient who set up an appointment for 10 am yesterday morning. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was brought into a room for preliminary check up within 10 minutes that I was there. I thought “great, this is going according to schedule”. Then I was asked to go back to the waiting room until a room was available to see the doctor. I waited for 45 minutes and asked the front receptionist how many patients were ahead of me. She responded 2 and that the doctor took about 20-25 minutes with each person. Meaning, after an hour of waiting I was still expected to wait another 40-50 minutes? Then she stated they were running late with their appointments and that normally it doesn’t take that long. As a new patient, I would like to suggest that if you know that your appointments are running behind schedule, let your patients know. Be mindful of other people’s time. Maybe suggest they return in half an hour so they can have the option to leave or reschedule instead of just sitting there aimlessly waiting for something to happen. I made an appointment at Dr. Wong's office as my previous eye doctor was no longer in El Paso. It took about a week to get me in. I arrived about 5-10 minutes early and only waited for about 15 minutes before one of the many very friendly staff members took me in for the pre exam work up. Once done there I was taken to the room where I met Dr. Wong for the first time. She is kind, considerate and knowledgable and I found her to be delightful. She was very patient with me going through the different settings for vision correction. You know the old, "which is better, one or two, three or four?" By far, one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at the eye doctor! Dr. Wong and her entire staff were extremely kind and so helpful. I went in for my yearly exam, and to have a prescription corrected. Dr. Wong in particular made my visit very personable and I am incredibly pleased with my corrected script on my glasses! As a difficult patient, I have an extreme myopic prescription with an astigmatism, I made an appointment with Dr. Wong. I had been trying to see via a mono-eye where one eye sees near and one far. I never could see that well. Dr. Wong suggested that I switch the dominant eye and voila, I could see perfectly. Now a couple years later I need more depth perception and once again she made the changes for me to see perfectly. Dr. Wong does not have an flashy, glitzy office but one that is genuine and knowledgeable. I would recommend Dr. Wong to anyone who needs care.

Incredibly condescending and rude. Obviously, she’s knowledgeable, but she made sarcastic remarks the entire time regarding my contact habits and then started making jokes about our family’s finances because I save money by wearing contacts for 3 weeks at a time when it should be 2 weeks at a time. Kept saying I would go blind and it wasn’t her fault. I would have loved for her to educate me politely, and I guess I would have listened and not just seen her ugly personality. Nasty woman.
