Dr. Joshua I Vogel

Dr. Vogel, his medical assistant, and his staff have been excellent so far. They were wonderful to get me in quickly for an appointment when other offices were booking all the way out in June. Dr. Vogel has sat with me, gone over all my questions with me, and clearly explained what the next steps in my care will be. He has a great bedside manner and made me feel that I was a person, not another appointment slot on the calendar or a chart number :)

I have been a patient of Dr. Vogel's since my son was born. My Son is 26 My last visit was in 2019. Cancelled visit in 2020 due to COVID. Tried to schedule an appointment and was told I was considered a new patient and they could not accept me. So disappointed Dr. Vogel as you were always my go to DR told I had to find a new provider,

He was on time, extremely kind, listened and worked with me to develop a medical plan!

I just had my first visit with Dr. Vogel and he was nothing short of fantastic! I felt like my voice was heard and was respected. I've had so many gynos deny tubal ligation since I don't have children but, Dr. Vogel acknowledged that I'm an adult and can make my own decisions...what a breath of fresh air! SO happy to be a patient of his.

I have been seeing him for about a year for postmenopausal bleeding. I recently had to have a hysteroscopy D&C for polyps and cancer biopsy. Not sure if it was him or the office staff, but both my pre-op and surgery appt were not scheduled appropriately: on arrival, I was told the office visit was scheduled during OR time so, I had to take another day from work to reschedule and my surgery was scheduled during office hours so, it was delayed by 2 hours. Delays are a minor annoyance, but it tells me their office is not well organized. The procedure went well. He explained everything to my husband and he said he would call before my 4 week follow up, if there was cancer. Both he and his nurse called to check on me the next day. Both very caring interactions. I can see how the more sensitive folks might be put off by his socially awkward/shy demeanor. I work with surgeons so, I understand their typical personalities and can look past that. I felt that he took good care of me.

Dr Vogel is impeccable with every aspect of his treatment. I am so appreciate of his care and guidance. I leave there every time knowing that I received the best care.

Dr. Joshua Vogel is a kind, compassionate, and incredibly skilled doctor who made me feel safe, and made sure that I felt comfortable. He took the time to personally call me back and even checked on me multiple times the days following my hysterectomy. He is a rock-star surgeon! Love you Dr. Vogel- thank you!

He is a fantastic listener and explains in great detail. I really felt heard!

Dr Vogel, while I hadn’t seen him prior to delivering, came in and did a great job. He’s very personable, friendly, knowledgeable and his humor is icing on the cake!

Dr. Vogel is a wonderful doctor. I appreciate the way he explains things and how thorough he is, even when he is busy with other patients. He made my medical induction a smooth experience and eased a lot of worries that my husband and I had about our preemie. Thank you, Dr. Vogel.

Always a pleasant experience. Dr Vogel has delivered all of my kids. Only male ob I'm comfortable with.

Dr. Vogel delivered my second child. Being that I have always had dr. Parker as my primary doctor I was a bit hesitant to see someone else. However, Dr. Vogel was calm, caring and communicated throughout my labor process. He made everyone in the room feel extremely comfortable.

Dr. Vogel is very thorough and kind. You can tell that he really cares about his patients. I know many women hesitate to have a male OBGYN, but Dr. Vogel is a cut above. He delivered my son and I have been seeing him for many years since. I feel very comfortable and confident in his care.

We had an excellent experience with the entire Wilmington Health staff. We visited for our 20 week ultrasound. Our Ultrasound technician, Becky was amazing. She went above and beyond in making our experience one that was comfortable, reassuring, and memorable. We have had her for multiple visits and is always a pleasure. It was the first time I’ve felt as though a doctor actually listened to me and made sure to address my concerns without making me feel guilty or an inconvenience. He was phenomenal, as was Becky who did our anatomy scan. Don’t let the cranky receptionist fool you, the rest of the staff is wonderful.

Wife went in to see Dr.Vogel and he was awful. Extremely rude to her and didn't want to be there. I should have read the previous reviews. We will not be back to see him no matter what.

Terrible bedside manner. Was unbelievably rude to my sister, a brand new mother. Wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy.

Please listen to my warning and do not see this man. I was diagnosed without Endometriosis and had a lap with Dr. Woodfill. When my symptoms came back, Dr. Woodfill told me to go get the robotic lap with Dr. Vogel as the robotic surgery would benefit me more. At the consult with Dr. Vogel, he told me I didn’t have Endometriosis and that he didn’t want to do the surgery. He said he wanted to refer me to the Pelvic Pain Specalist in Chapel Hill and that there I would receive a lot of phsycological testing. He said my brain is probably making me think the pain is a lot worse than it is. So I called Dr. Woodfill who said yes I do have endo and needed the surgery so it was scheduled. On surgery day Dr. Vogel came in to talk to me and my family and said that he will go in and do what he can but when he finds nothing I should feel better from a phsycological standpoint. After surgery he told my mom that he did find endometriosis but it couldn’t possibly have caused all of the pain I was declscribing. If you know anything about endo then you know that even the smallest amounts can hurt drastically. He said he didn’t recommend I get any more surgery and when my mom asked what I was supposed to do about the pain, he said “deal with it”. Then when my mom got upset he said he didn’t have to talk to her and that he was doing it out of a curtesy. DO NOT GO SEE THIS INSENSITIVE MAN! Go see Dr. Gore or Dr. Woodfill. I never leave reviews, however after my experience today I feel it is necessary. I went to see Dr. Vogel on what should have been one of the most exciting days of my adulthood... my husband and I are expecting our first child and this was my very first appointment. After leaving Dr. Vogel’s office appointment, I not only felt humiliated, but belittled. His bedside manner is poor, to say the least, and he had absolutely no tact or compassion in delivering information to me as a patient. He was brash and in my opinion, unprofessional in the way he addressed pregnancy topics. Would not recommend to anyone else expecting, and after reading further reviews wouldn’t recommend him as a practitioner in general. He is compassionate, attentive and answered all of my questions and helped put me at ease. He is great!

Dr. Vogel is a very considerate and kind man! I was having painful periods which was assumed to be endometriosis; he gave me all my options and was very clear and concise. I decided to have a laparoscopy to confirm, little did I know he'd also be my surgeon! Like I said, considerate, kind, concise, and, of course, very talented!

Dr. Vogel has always been incredibly compassionate and kind. I have never felt rushed by him and have always been impressed with his expertise and his approachability. I feel valued by him and safe with him as my OBGYN. I trust his advice and am confident he genuinely cares for me and my baby.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Vogel. At a time when we should have been over the moon ecstatic, due to previous medical issues, a delivery via c-section was risky for my daughter and grandson, it was news we didn't want to hear. When we did we were stressed, emotional and scared to death. My daughter had only seen Dr. Vogel a few times through the whole pregnancy so she was nervous at first. Daughter’s first pregnancy visit ended in tears due to Dr. Vogel’s mean and insensitive behavior. Never seeing him again. He is a detriment to this practice.

I have been a patient of his for over ten years. He delivered my child. He is a wonderful doctor. i am very thankful I found him.

Dr. Vogel is very knowledgeable and professional. He explains very precisely everything you need to understand with simple and respectful language. His diagnosis are accurate, he takes the time to listen to your needs and is always inviting you to ask more. I trust his advice and diagnosis, after visiting other providers I didn’t have any doubt, him and his staff are always kind and their human quality is outstanding.

Came in to be checked for dialation in my last weeks of pregnancy. I was already a few days overdue. Frustrated and hormonal Dr. Vogel did make me feel better after talking to me for a bit. However, his examinations aren't what you would call gentle. With a comparison of the same procedure performed by another doctor only a few days later, the membrane sweep Dr. Vogel performed was aggressive and jarring. I had to ask the second doctor if she had indeed done it, that's how gentle it was.

dr Vogel was the dr on call when I went into labor with my son. I had only seen him once for a prenatal appointment, so I wasn't thrilled. However, he is very dedicated to his job and in the hospital environment he's very considerate of you. I went in and out of labor throughout the week and was too dilated to be sent home, so I was there for almost a week. Dr Vogel checked on me a few times, and even though he didn't deliver my son, he came to check on both of us after delivery. it was so sweet
