Very nice and spent time with me going over my issues. I have also had friends who have had surgery and rave about him. I highly recommend.

I saw Dr Abrams and he was so great. He showed me on the MRI where my problems were. After further x-rays he made recommends to me for treatment. Definitely would recommend him to anyone.

Joshua was very professional. He also came highly recommended. Nurses also said he was the best. So far less pain than I was expecting.

Excellent staff and everybody was very helpful.They did not keep me waiting and were very informative.

Previous post: Professional straightforward services. Two days after surgery and I'm feeling good! 03/23/2023 update: Had my eight week check-up yesterday at DISC. Dr. Abrams PA Carla Fricke is thorough, genuine, and in a good mood! Dr Abrams is also thorough and willing to address whatever concerns the patient (me) might have. I am cautiously good to start exercising and getting my life back! Best decision I've made, no more sciatica, hip, or lower back pain. I would recomend DISC and more specifically Dr. Joshua Abrams to anyone seeking relief from lower back problems. I am not a robot but an actual grateful patient. My experience was as pleasant as as a surgical procedure can be.

A blocked nerve in my spine, C3 and C4 of the cervical in my neck was causing ongoing pain like a migraine for months. Dr.Abrams performed a decompression procedure and I was free of pain within 24 hours. He kept me informed at all times and listened to my concerns.

I’ve putting off back surgery for many years due to all the horror stories associated with surgery. I got to a point where it was very painful and hard to walk. I went to DISC and had a consultation with Dr. Abrams and scheduled my surgery. Dr. Abrams did a phenomenal job with my surgery and I couldn’t be happier! I highly recommend DISC and Dr. Abrams.

Dr. Abrams & and Dr. Frick along with their whole team were excellent! Hospital team was very responsive to all my needs and pain levels were managed well. I had many surgeries in the past but this one exceeded my expectations!!

5 stars isn't enough. Once again, Dr. Abrams, has fixed me. I do these reviews for 2 reasons. 1. I believe others should know what they're up against if they're looking for care. 2. Dr. Abrams did my surgery and from admission to my post-op, 2 weeks after, the experience was great. Abrazo Scottsdale hospital has some of the best staff I've ever encountered. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Abrams. He's kind, compassionate and very skilled as a surgeon.

Mr Adams was very professional listen to my problems showed me what he seen on the MRI and x-ray that he had me to perform listen to my concerns ask me if I could get a newer MRI he offered the local place here in Phoenix they could not perform before and after x-ray of my shunt so I am forced to go to Yuma to get him this MRI but I am having problems getting see before and after x-ray of my shunt so that I can have an MRI done at this time I've called the office but I don't have a direct telephone number to his office and I keep leaving messages for the nurse on call and so far I'm not received anything but as far as Mr our Dr Adams goes I would like to see him more often and I would refer him to all my friends that is needing this type of operation thank you for the opportunity to give my results to you

Dr Abrams is the best don’t go anywhere else. His magic hands made the hardest part of surgery not doing to much afterwards because you will feel great!

I've been seeing Dr. Abrams for a couple of years, monitoring my low back pain. It progressed to needing surgery and the entire experience was so wonderful. I can sleep through the night for the first time in years and I'm so excited for my future. I couldn't have expected better care than I have received.

Dr. Abrams and his staff, particularly Karla, were throughly professional in explaining my L4-L5 S1 fusion which he performed on January 18th. The surgery was very successful, so even at age 73, I was able to go back to teaching my Modern Ninjutsu martial arts classes, with some modifications, within a couple of weeks post op. I fully expect to be 100% within a month! I highly recommend Dr. Abrams if you want your back surgery done right!

My appointment with Dr. Abrams was very helpful. I have been living with pain in my right leg, and he diagnosed that my S/I joint was the problem. He referred me back to my pain management doctor. It was a relief to hear I didn’t need surgery. DISC is an upstanding medical group. All staff were caring professionals. It was a very positive appointment.

Dr Abrams has been great! Explained the issues and procedure to be done very detailed before surgery, answered all our questions and expressed great confidence in the success . Dr Abrams assistant Carla is fantastic. Very thorough and thoughtful. She listened and showed me all my results. Great job Carla. Dr Abrams did a very complicated surgery on 4 levels of my spine. He fused from S1-L3-4-5. I was walking in the hospital the night after surgery. I have a ways to go to fully recover. He did an excellent job and his knowledge is excellent. Made me fell confident and answered every concern I had. He Did not rush into surgery only when we were both confident in doing it. If your need something similar done I would definitely recommend seeing him.

The entire staff that we’ve interacted with have been pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable. Post surgery, I can say Dr Abrams is a delightfully refreshing doctor as he never talked with us from a “doctor pedestal,” he cares, is concerned that I get the best results possible, and very easy to talk with. Can’t say how many times he drew on the white board explaining any questions away. Comparing him to the two other spine surgeons I’ve consulted, I can really appreciate his less invasive surgical procedures. The other two surgeons both recommended different approaches with 1-2 day of surgeries, and 5-7 days hospitalized. With Dr Abrams, I had a 4 hour surgery with one overnight hospital stay. I believe Dr Abrams has wicked good surgical skills.

Extremely disappointed with the side effects from my recent cervical spine fusion surgery. My esophagus became very constricted and I couldn’t eat anything for four days and could barely swallow liquids. I regurgitated my medications. Large amounts of phlegm constantly kept getting coughed up. A friend of mine had the same surgery and had a sore throat for two days. It’s been two weeks and I’m just beginning to swallow normally. I had no warning this might happen. I can’t really being so miserable. He had done except lower back surgery before. He’s a great doc though.

Doctor seem to b a little busy

Dr Abrams was very efficient in explaining the procedure that I needed done. Of course anything is scary when it comes to spine surgery but he assured me that I would be fine! He is a very capable surgeon and I highly recommend him!

My recent surgery was in May, 2022, was my second surgery with Dr. Abrams. The previous one was 3 years ago. All aspects of my experience were extremely positive, from the diagnosis of my current condition, through the pre-op process, during the surgery, the in-hospital recovery and the post-op follow up. I have the highest opinion of Dr. Abrams because of the results of both my surgeries and the care I received from him personally and his assistants. He has been very patient answering my questions and he ensures I have a solid understanding of our discussions. I highly recommend him. November, 2022 Update - I just had my six-month post-op meeting with Dr. Abrams. He and I are both very pleased with my progress. I have healed well from the surgery to insert a spacer and to install 2 screws with rod to bring the vertebrae back into alignment. I had no complications from the surgery and as a result I healed quickly. Of course there was significant pain from the surgery, but it was managed with medication and passed quickly. I credit Dr. Abrams skill and management of the procedure for my excellent result. I continue to recommend him highly. January, 2023 Update - I managed to somehow strain or injure myself in mid-December, 2022, but not in the area of my last surgery. I couldn't stand upright very long, typically less than 5 minutes, and walking more than a few hundred steps became very painful, as was lying flat on my back. I convinced myself that I was going to need surgery in a different place because of another stenosis. After new X-rays and a new MRI, Dr. Abrams concluded that surgery wasn't necessary and that my condition could be treated with a short course of oral steroids. I am about half way through the steroids and my back is feeling very good. I haven't tested how strong I've become because I want to finish the steroids and gradually ease into more normal activities without risking another injury. I am very thankful that Dr. Abrams accurately diagnosed my condition and I was able to avoid another surgery. I also want to recommend Dr. Abrams assistant, Karla Frick. She is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Both are excellent in helping me understand my diagnosis and recommending appropriate treatment and medication.

I was in crisis with extreme sciatica from my L5/SI left side. I called to get an appointment and told them my situation. I got an appt in 2 days. Met Joshua and he was kind, thorough and answered all my questions. We were blessed with getting in to see him during this emergenecy situation

Dr Abrams and his staff are as awesome as people say! I was referred by my primary physician and at first meeting with Dr Abrams, it felt right. To be sure, I reached out to a dear friend who is also a highly respected orthopedic surgeon in the Phoenix area and he said, "Kellie, if I were going to have back surgery, Dr Abrams would be my choice." I also have a friend who owns a Physical Therapy company and he reached out to a few of his PT's and also received great reviews on Dr Abrams. I was satisfied that not only my intuition was on point, but my friends were too. Two weeks ago Dr Abrams fused my L4 to L5 and replaced a disc. I was walking the same day (very little, but I was on my feet). Two weeks later, I'm walking 3/4 of a mile and increasing gradually and got my driving privileges back! No more back pain or nerve pain in my glutes!! Prior to surgery, I was in constant pain and had stopped my nightly walks altogether. I just couldn't do it anymore. It has been easy dealing with all of the staff. Dr Abrams is one of the best surgeons and has the best bed side matter. He takes time to talk to and show what he will be doing. He explains the procedures in a manner to be under understood. Highly recommend them.

Dr Abrams approached my spinal issues with refreshing minimally invasive procedures. Two other spinal surgeons had radically different approaches. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was a bit of a wait before Dr.Abrams came in. He listened to my issue and l left with two recommendations for treatment. A referral to begin one right away. I would refer others to him.

I had my 1st visit with DISC practice in the West Valley with Dr. Abrams and he is the most kind, caring, extremely compassionate and understanding doctor I have ever been too! He took the time to completely listen to me, answered my questions honestly, is very knowledgeable, and sincere doctor. He made me feel extremely comfortable and didn’t force his opinions on me and I truly believe I have finally found a lumbar and cervical spine doctor who will help me with my spine pain and will do everything possible too solve my back and neck problems. Came to DISC to see Dr Abrams for a second opinion my options to get rid of the pain in my lower back and right leg. I have visited a couple of Dr's in Houston Texas where we live but I was not impressed or confident in what they were telling me. Called DISC, made and appointment and flew to Phoenix to me with the Dr's here face to face.
