Came for a consult when my som was 3 months for his flat head. He said he’ll be fine and it’ll go back to normal with tummy time. I suggested a helmet. He said they don’t do any better than “tummy time”. I trusted him against my better judgment and did as instructed. My baby lived on this tummy. He’s almost 2 years old now and has the same exact flat head. Won’t blindly trust another MD again.
This doctor is Very dismissive and showed little cared in parents concerns. Even smiled and smirked thought the app when asked questions. No matter what questions I asked him he replied with the same answer. " You don't have anything to worry about" Acted like he did not wanted to be there. The app lasted 4 min. He also Refused to do a follow up MRI as well.. He also insisted my child's headaches, nausea and not sleeping had nothing to do with the brain cyst..
I saw Dr. Piatt when he was practicing at OHSU in the 90’s. I always loved going to see him; especially to see what bow tie he was wearing. He was very dedicated, to the point he came in to perform an emergency shunt revision while on vacation. He always listened and took time with myself and my parents to talk about concerns. I wish as an adult I could still see him.
He saved our son's life when he came in with a brain tumor on his MRI. Came in early morning to preform next day surgery. We are forever grateful!! He is skilled, knowledgeable and kind. DuPont is amazing !

We took our son to see Dr Piatt to get a second opinion after another pediatric neurosurgeon didn't take our son or his symptoms seriously. With in 3 hours of being seen by Dr. Piatt our son was then seen by a neurologist (also at DuPont), scheduled for more testing and had blood work done. With in 2 days we finally had the answers that we had spent 2 months and thousands of dollars looking for with other doctors.
