Dr. Joseph Samuel Montgomery III

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. I went to dr Montgomery for 2 of my pregnancies I’m high risk I have high risk pregnancies and my pregnancy’s ended in miscarriages. I recommend going to someone else especially if your high risk bc this Dr will NOT take you seriously. I came in at my 2nd pregnancy bleeding and I came in for a ultrasound he had to go to surgery so he told me to come back at 4 knowing that they close at 5 I came in and he wouldn’t even do my ultrasound bc “he wanted to go home” I never got to even seee my second baby because “he wanted to go home” if you are high risk at all I promise he is NOT the ob you want for your child.

Friendly staff, the Dr.Joseph answered all my questions and he pays attention to you, I recommend them.

Don’t come here. You deserve to be communicated with, you deserve to be listened to, and you deserve to be in control of your health and pregnancy. This is not the place where you get any of those things. There are many OBGYNs in Houston. Find a different one. I went through and entire pregnancy and delivery with Dr Montgomery. Don’t come here.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Dr. Montgomery’s clinical and office staff is disgusting to say the least. They are cold, rude and transactional. They put zero warmth into the patients that pay their salaries and keep their office open. As a first time mom I expected a thorough approach to my questions and my health updates (ex. telling me my blood pressure, baby’s heart rate, going over labs, reading my chart) I don’t feel like that’s too much to ask for. His nurses bed side manner is about as gentle as a train wreck and his front desk asked if I was there for a pregnancy exam on my fourth appointment? It’s unsettling that they call themselves medical providers and they don’t even take the time to review their patient files prior to their appointment. I left MULTIPLE appointments in tears because I was rushed, didn’t get any questions answered and felt extremely overwhelmed that my baby was not in the best care. When I asked to cancel my most recent appointment and get my money refunded after a clear display of disorganization. The OFFICE MANAGER (his wife) was running around whispering to other employees about me loud enough to where I could hear?! I’ve worked in a clinical setting and I’m sorry but that’s not how anyone especially management should behave. If you are looking for a new OBGYN provider take this as your sign to not walk but run in the opposite direction. This group is an EXTREME waste of time and money. They don’t care about you as a patient just that you pay them on time. It’s gross.

Great experience! It was an extremely long wait, frankly I think they forgot about me. This was going to be a review about that. BUT then I met Dr. Montgomery, he first met with me in his office to discuss any questions I may have and go over my chart. I thought this was a practice that only happened in old movies. As a new patient I found it thoughtful and it put me at ease prior to my examination. My exam was both thorough and the Dr. Communicated everything he was doing. He was kind and friendly throughout my entire visit. I went from being annoyed to grateful I had found Dr. Montgomery to be my new gyn. A Dr. that takes the time to visit with his patients like that is worth the wait! I will definitely bring a book for my next appointment. ????

Dr. Montgomery is very thorough and attentive. He's personable and knowledgeable. I've been a patient of his for over a year now. The wait times are average when compared to all doctor offices. He does see preop patients in his actual office within the practice office, which might account for any "additional" wait someone in his waiting room someone might experience. But, again - He is very thorough with every patient and devotes 100% of his time to his patients once he's with them. His staff members are efficient and friendly. They DO occasionally have an issue with their phone system, but I've found that to be sporadic. Workaround is to email them to the email listed on their website. Always in a hurry, doesn’t care about patients, don’t want to listen or answer any condition related questions, patients have to sit in a robe and wait for him forever. Overall bad, don’t recommend.

Dr. Montgomery is awesome. He excepted me as a patient late in my pregnancy. He took everything I said into consideration. My delivery was quick and easy.

This place is just Okay nothing else. The staff takes a 2 hour lunch and never respond to emails or pick up the phone. It’s extremely difficult to get information about your results, it’s frustrating. If you can, go somewhere else.

Dr.Montgomery is great but his medical assistant is very rude and it is concerning that they always seem to have phone issues.

Dr.Montgomery is professional and has been helpful during my tough missed miscarriage. The majority of the staff is friendly and professional. There is only one individual who is kind of a nasty mean individual. This older woman who is one of the receptionist and has dark hair and olive tone skin is sarcastic and rude. Maybe I caught her on an off day but with the heat and circumstances of my personal situation made it really difficult to not completely go off on her. Other than that, I would recommend this place and I am sorry for anyone who is going through or that has been through a miscarriage. I love Dr. Montgomery and his wife and staff. I’ve been going to him for over 20 years. He’s great! I trust him a lot and value his opinions on other concerns. He delivered both my daughter and son. My daughter now visits Dr. Montgomery for her yearly exam and when she was pregnant with my granddaughter.

Dr. Montgomery delivered my 3rd and 4th children in the early 1990's and he's been my ob/gen ever since. There are reasons that I continue going to him after 30+ years - he listens and he knows his stuff. My own two adult daughters are patients of his as well.

Looking at all Dr Montgomery’s reviews, I’m sharing mine. I started going to him in 2000 for my first pregnancy and my second in 2003. He’s performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy for me in 2016. This is what I’ll tell you. He’s more than experienced. He’s old school which I have the upmost respect for and does not do things in his office as you would see today with technology with patient portals and iPads. He writes everything down in my chart/file and reads his own notes. He tends to have long waits because he occasionally gets called out unexpectedly to perform deliveries, which I’ve experienced with one of my appointments. He spends amiable time with his patients and discusses any issues or concerns in detail. He doesn’t heard you in and out of his office. I’ve recommended friends to him and they have been pleased with him as well and have thanked me for doing so. When he decides to retire, I hope I can find a doctor as great as him to replace.

Horrible, if I could give zero stars I would. His patient went into preterm labor twice with each of her last 2 babies while under dr Montgomery’s care. Not once did he perform full exams when necessary, or listen to any concerns expresssed to him, nor did he answer questions in full detail. Even went as far as to threaten his patient. Wait times for the doctor vary from 30 minutes to over an hour without fail. Chairs in every room are worn out and sag. The entire office is very dark and dated. The front staff is very unfriendly and rude. They close the office for lunch two hours every day and you can’t even leave a message! I had a hysterectomy that required two follow-up surgeries and each surgery Dr. Montgomery was one to over two hours late showing up for. Even when releasing me from the hospital he showed up over an hour late and for each and every time he waltzed in he never once apologized or felt bad for it or explained why. First visit, yes he went over family history if any medical issues. I went to prenatal checkup. He didn't even bother to look around over the ultrasound and send me to get blood work. Just by the blood work he said I will miscarried right away. Didn't even bother to do an ultrasound again or anything but again wants to see me on Monday. Not sure for what. Just left me hanging. I like dr Montgomery however I just hate the phones NEVER work so I have to go to the location when I need to get in touch with someone which is very inconvenient.

Great doctor! Delivered 2 out of my 3 children. Super knowledgeable and confident. Helped my delivery based on his confidence and guidance.

Dr. Montgomery is the best Doctor I have been to in awhile. He has a wonderful bedside manner, easy to talk to and answered all my questions. When I had to wait for over an hour, to get test result, everyone kept me informed and was very polite. When called back he explained why and apologized for my wait. Although I’m late writing this review (my baby was born 11 months ago) my husband and I could not have been more thrilled with how wonderful Dr. Montgomery was during all of my visits and during birth. I found Dr. Montgomery to be A thorough clinician. Did a more conservative procedure that kept me without pain and I was able to return to life quicker. Would definitely recommend and wish I knew him when I had my children.

I have been seeing Dr. Montgomery for many year and find very positive and thorough.

Dr. Montgomery III saw my wife and told her that 'in general' "people" (he says he was generalizing and not referring specifically to her) don't need to take psychiatric medications. He told her that "people" could be on a desert island and be just fine. Dr. Montgomery is not a psychiatrist and acknowledged that he was not familiar with any of the psychiatric medications my wife was taking. Shamed, my wife came home in tears. I called the doctor to discuss this incident and he continued to express his sentiment that "some people" are better off without "certain medications". Dr. Montgomery told my wife to research the side-effects of the medications she takes herself to as to a symptom she was having. He was also not aware of a newer medication that is being advertised on tv for this symptom and claimed there were no such medications on the market. Go elsewhere, this doctor is not staying current and has poor communication skills.

His office manager is really rude and unprofessional.

Dr. Montgomery seemed pleasant however both times I went for my visits he was too busy to examine me after waiting over an hour. I think the real problem was how unorganized the office was. I was given wrong information and did not receive calls on important test results I was waiting for. It added a lot of unnecessary stress.

My first apointment here, it was an hour wait, understandably as it is a busy office at the end of a Monday. When i was called back, Dr Montgomery sat down with me in his office and we spoke about health history and different choices for birth control at my age (40) He answered all my questions patiently and candidly, he has a very good bedside manner. The exam itself was as comfortable as one of these could be, I felt confident in him and his nurse, they were both efficient and kind. I would only suggest that the check in process be better, it's just a slip of paper you fill out and leave next to a closed window with a sign that says don't knock on the window. Yesterday was my first prenatal visit! I was extremely excited for my first ultrasound I’m just 7 weeks so there wasn’t much to see just yet, nonetheless Dr. Montgemory did everything in his power to ensure me that everything is up to par! After telling me what was wrong I had many questions he would not answer, he answered his cell phone and proceeded to tell me he needs to go deliver a baby. I am not paying this mass amount of money to not get what I paid for.

He has delivered 2 of my children and I am very grateful for him. 1 of my children would not be here today if it wasn't for the fast acting decisions Dr.Montgomery made that saved my sons life. He listens to my concerns and cares about not just my concerns with my health but with my employment and life. He's all around a great Dr. I would recommend him to everyone especially if you don't accept blood or have religious preferences. Dr Montgomery is so sweet and very calm, I saw him with my pregnancy and he always reassured me that everything would be okay and always answered my questions. His staff is professional and friendly. I will go back to him when I decide to have another baby even though I currently live in Humble. He is definitely worth the drive!

I love Dr. Montgomery and his staff. He delivered my daughter in 2015 and just delivered my son in January 2018. Through both pregnancies I had high anxiety and he (and the staff) always helped me through it. He answers all my questions and is just a very kind and caring man. I recommend him to anyone I can.

I have been his patient for over 30 years. I had fertility problems, which he corrected with major surgery and follow up s to clear scar tissue. I conceived and he delivered my baby within the next year. He also delivered my second child 4 years afterwards. I value his advice and dont mind waiting my turn, because when he is with you, he listens to your concerns and explains whatever is necessary. I hope he doesn't retire soon!

I absolutely love him and his staff. They are awesome always make me feel comfortable. He is the only doctor in the Houston area i trust to deliver my children. Everyone is very friendly.

Dr. Montgomery has delivered all three of my babies via c-section over the last 6 years. He is an expert in the hospital and really put my mind at ease before, during, and after the surgeries. In the office he and his staff are friendly and professional.

As long as you dont deal with Denise(the RN) it is a pleasant experience. She picks and chooses who she wants to be nice too. Everyone there is so nice and she sits there and dictates. Those poor girls cant do anything right in her eyes and she's not professional about it at all (Several times she has interrupted them talking to me about insurance and been rude to them) She tells patients how she knows more than the Dr because she has done it longer. More worried about her title than anything.

I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery, he is professional and personable. Dr. Montgomery delivered my twins back in March 2007, they were 9 weeks early and Dr.Montgomery was out of town. Needless to say he was in constant contact with the hospital and actually left his family function to drive back to Houston to deliver my babies. His staff is great and it's never a problem getting an appointment! Highly recommend!

EXCELLENT DOCTOR. Highly recommend! Highly intelligent, decisive, informative, trustworthy - great beside manner. He was present and gave me the time I needed during my appointments. I had 2 surgeries with Dr. Montgomery and felt very cared for; he even called my daughter, personally, after each surgery to provide her with surgical outcome/comfort/assurance. Lastly, Dr. Montgomery's staff is wonderful as well!

Had unusal vaginal Bleeding. Got office appointment fast for evaluation and ultra sound. Had surgery with in that same week. Wonderful staff and excellent very experienced Doctor. So glad I found him to help me! I highly recommend!
