Dr. Joseph Todd Martins

My husband and me started seeing Dr Martins 7/2020 ~ my husband died 10/2021 ~ We were told his medical problem was mild and would probably never have to be treated. We saw This Doctor every 4 months for blood work and visit with Dr Martins ~ we had new symptoms but were told they were not related to his condition! Even as he became weaker and had to be rolled into Dr Martin office we were told that had nothing told - this had nothing to do with that! Finally an ER doctor at UTHEALTH ATHENS asked if he’d ever been tested for chronic leukemia ~ I said no and we followed up at HOPE Cancer Center and Dr Martin for that test Turned out to be very bad AML leukemia and Dr Martins said we should take him home and make him comfortable and that he would not treat him for that because it would be unethical ????I feel like I failed to save my husband and I also feel like Dr Martin didn’t even try! We saw This Doctor every 4 months for blood work and visit with Dr Martins ~ we had new symptoms but were told they were not related to his condition! I was a patient of Dr Martens four years ago. Brea's cancer came back. His staff is unbelievably incompetent and incredibly rude. I was treated as if I were a drug seeker! I was so let down by his care, without an oz of empathy. Very embarrassing to tell my friends and family what an amazing Dr he was. He proved me wrong and my family and friends were highly disappointed in my care! I will not return to him as a patient and will never recommend him to anyone! He's a fantastic Oncologist, I'm so happy & lucky to have had him. Not only was he highly recommended by my MD Anderson Oncologist I loved when I moved, I've been with him for three yrs & love Dr Martins just as much and I'm Now Cancer FREE! ❤️

No one wants to hear they have cancer. I was referred to Dr. Martins who is in Athens once a week. His staff put me at ease quickly. I was told prior my visit he is a no nonsense straight to the point Doctor. I found him willing to explain his plan quickly and thoroughly, allowing me to absorb what he was saying. I have a plan and now I have hope, if you are in need of this Doctor do not hesitate to call and make an appointment, he is positive and caring.
