Dr Lodrick and his team are excellent. They have advanced technology and are very knowledgeable about all your vision correction needs. The phoropter (the machine that gets the prescription) is all digital and works much better than the old ones. Dr Lodrick was able to answer our questions about dental Loupes, retinal scans and detachments, and helped guide my decision between glasses and contacts. Highly recommend! In the 21st century, finding a doctor who both actively listens and explains is rare. However, Dr. Joseph Lodrick is one such rare doctor. My eyes are creating extra havoc in my life—from shingles in one eye; difficult stigmatisms and eyes that are used to contacts (having worn them 40+ years). I found Dr. Lodrick—an exceptional optometrist who actually takes the time to listen to your concerns, and in turn takes the time to explain in detail possible solutions and what can be accomplished. He is an excellent communicator, makes eye contact, and makes certain you understand what he is saying and suggesting for your eyes. My appointment was amazing! I’ve never had a eye doctor take as much time and care before. He was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and made sure to let me know if I needed anything they were there to help. We took my son for glasses and the doctor acted like he needed to go as fast as possible to complete the appointment. It was like it was an assembly line and he had a number of patients to get through, so he didn’t take any time to really make sure all questions were answered or even that the prescription was accurate. Friendly, fast and accurate. We love our Costco optometrist and office!! Our regular ophthalmologist has been wonderful for the past several years. However, this year we had a few hiccups. For some reason my son couldn’t see clear and our Dr. wouldn’t listen to our concerns and said he couldn’t go any stronger in my son’s prescription. After going back and forth to this Dr.’s office more times than I care to count we left feeling unheard again. My husband told me to forget our Dr. and take my son to Dr. Lodrick’s office at Costco. I was able to get an appointment the very next day. They were so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Castleton listened to our concerns and gave my son a thorough exam. He then gave my son contacts to try. They were perfect on the FIRST TRY!!! My son said “finally I can see clearly and everything is crisp.” We totally should have come to Costco in the first place. We have been trying to get my son’s prescription right since mid-August at the other Dr.’s office. Dr. Castleton took care of us in a professional and accurate way all within about 30 minutes. We then purchased a year supply of contacts right there at the Costco optical department. We would definitely recommend this office if you want convenient, friendly and accurate service. Before my first visit to Dr. Lodrick’s office, I had to have a few different types of contact lenses and a few pairs of glasses for different uses. I wasn’t very happy with any of them. And I had to switch eyewear all the time. After seeing Dr. Lodrick’s, I realized I didn’t need so many different eyewear if my prescription is good. Dr. Lodrick is very generous with his time and knowledge. He always carefully explains what’s happening with my eyes and why he recommends certain types and brands of eyewear. Dr. Lodrick’s prescription reflects his deep knowledge and superior judgement. I definitely recommend Dr. Lodrick to anybody who desires a wonderful vision. I have been going to Dr Lodrick for years. I am a commercial pilot, so having my glasses properly fit with an accurate prescription is very important to me. Dr. Lodrick always goes above and beyond to make sure that I get the best fit possible. He is knowledgeable, capable, very friendly, and remember me by name when I come in. I'm so glad I went to Dr. Lodrick for a contact prescription. He took the time to let me try and test different brands until I was completely happy and made sure the prescription was just right. More importantly, he went above and beyond by becoming my advocate to get answers for something he didn't think matched a previous diagnosis. I went to Dr Lodrick as I finally had vision insurance and he came highly recommended. He took his time with me, listened to me and in fact helped me deal with some eye problems I was having. About a month later I took my kids and my husband there. One of my children is autistic and he was very patient with her as she asked questions and attempted contacts and as she decided she didn’t want them. She felt very comfortable with him and he was very kind as she had a little panic attack about it being in her eye. I have opinions about eye doctors and liked our previous doctor but I am glad our insurance led us to Dr Lodrick as I feel very happy with his work. I had previously spent a ridiculous amount for an eye exam and a pair of glasses that I could not see clearly out of. It was frustrating to have an eye Dr. tell me that my vision was "hard to correct." On a whim I scheduled an eye appointment with Dr. Lodrick hoping he could help me. The results are amazing. He took extra time to explain to me the challenges that come with correcting my vision. He assured me that he would work with me to get the correction right, no matter how many times I might need to come back. On the first try, he gave me a prescription that has helped me to see better than any other Dr. I've ever gone to. This guy is REALLY GOOD. I was skeptical about seeing a Dr. that has his office in Costco but boy was I wrong! I can't recommend him highly enough! I really appreciated Dr. Lodrick’s retina imaging for my diabetic eye health check up. He is very professional and very good. He was also great with my kids. I would highly recommend Dr. Lodrick to every one. Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Lodrick.

Dr. Lodrick saved my ability to see clearly, literally. I had a botched eye surgery from an opthamologist in Bountiful. He sent me on to the Moran Eye Center, and that doctor sent me on to a "world renowned" eye surgeon at the Utah Eye Center in SLC and he did surgery. It didn't turn out well. He sent me to a colleague known for his accuracy in writing prescriptions for glasses. I got my glasses at Costco in Bountiful. I couldn't see well. I went back to the doctor and he revised my prescription. I got my second pair of glasses and they were better but not good enough. I was discouraged and thought this must be as good as it gets. Thankfully the glasses technician, Josh, suggested I see Dr. Lodrick before I decided to give up. Dr. Lodrick was wonderful, to say the least. His exam was very thorough and he quickly and efficiently corrected my prescription, and when I got my third pair of glasses I could see perfectly. That really says it all. Dr. Lodrick is outstanding. I have gone to another Optometrist for over 10 years. My eye sight has changed and the past couple of times my previous doctor made adjustments my vision was not as crisp as I wanted it. I decided to try Dr. Lodrick, as I have been purchasing both eyeglasses and contacts through Costco. He was able to tweak my prescription so that I have that crisp, clear vision again. I went to Dr Lodrick at Bountiful Costco a few years ago and enjoyed my visit. This year for my check up I went to the Costco vision SLC location because it was closer. I had a terrible experience at SLC and went running back to Dr Lodrick. I couldn't have had a better experience. I honestly just wish I had just gone to him to begin with! From now on I'll be getting my vision tests from him and I've already sent a few friends his way. He is worth the drive for sure! Dr. Lodrick has been my optometrist for about 5 years now, and he has been great. I drive up from Lehi because I trust him. I have gone to him since before my lasik eye surgery, and he was able to consult with me on where i should go. He is well plugged into the latest technology we have access to here in Utah.
