I moved here 3 years ago and was fortunate to find Housel Dermatology. I have only dealt with Dr. Housel for 3 mohs surgeries. The rest of the time I have had the good fortune to be in the care of his staff. Everyone from the office staff to physicians assistants have been friendly, helpful and warm as well as professional. From top to bottom this is a great practice.

I have been seeing Dr Housel For many years. I find him to be very professional and thorough with his examination.

My husband was referred to Dr. Housel by his dermatologist in Utica because he needed MOHS surgery for basal cell cancer. The entire experience has been stellar from start to finish. Dr. Housel is incredibly personable, skilled and caring. He actually called my husband the evening of the surgery to check on him! Incredible in this day and age. The facility is gorgeous and all the personnel were upbeat and interested in my husband’s comfort and understanding of exactly what was happening. Brittany was exceptional. Would we both recommend Dr. Housel? Absolutely without a doubt. I should add that I was welcomed warmly as well. The outcome of the surgery is excellent and we could not be more pleased.

Went to my first visit at Housel Dermatology and all I can say is “WOW”. Everyone from the minute I walked in the door made me feel welcome and we genuinely concerned about my issues. I had gone to other Dermatologists but none ever took the time with me that Dr Housel and his staff did. They went above and beyond the call to help get me the prescription medications that other dermatologists said would not be covered by insurance. They promptly reported to me the results of blood test and biopsies. I am thankful for finally finding a practice that cares for their patients. You all ROCK. Thank you ??

Dr Housel has done Mohs surgery on me with excellent results. Also, the PA Elizabeth Johnson is excellent as both myself and my husband use her for annual checks and these are done professionally and with excellent results.

I first came to Dr. Housel to have a Pilar cyst removed from my head. Both he and the staff are very professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable and at ease. I was so pleased with this practice that I returned for my skincare needs and am currently doing chemical peels to renew my skin and give it a healthy glow. I plan to continue an anti-aging regimen using their skincare line after I’m done with the peels. I highly recommend this practice for any of your skincare needs or concerns.

I cant not say enough good things about Dr. Housel and his office!!! Ever since the first time I walked into his office to have surgery done on my FACE I felt like I was in great hands! I run a physician office myself and know how one should be run. Dr. Housel and his staff exceeded my expectations!!!! Even-though I have to drive an hour to get to his office I changed to him for all of my dermatology needs!!!

Finally found an office with excellent reputation...I Have seen Dr. Housel and Elizabeth Johnson....both are excellent. The office is run like the Swiss Train system...efficient, professional, courteous, cheerful and ALWAYS on time...you can set a watch! Over the years, I have been to many dermatogists and no one can compare to this office. Extemely knowlegeable and you never feel rushed!

I had a biopsy done for genetic testing. Two nurses handled this beautifully. Very clean room and cheerful, efficient staff. I have had several squamous and basal spots surgically removed in the past by Dr Housel. He is proficient in Mohs surgery. I have never experienced pain except for the small sting of anesthetic. The nurse practioners check me every six months. They know what they are doing!

My husband and I had a great visit today with Dr. Housel. We were very pleased that we were seen by the doctor and had a very helpful and informative appointment. There is a nice clean waiting room and the appointment ran on time. We had a pleasant check in experience.

I was referred to this office by a coworker. The thought of someone checking every inch of your body is not pleasant. The staff could not have been more non-intrusive and polite. They easily took my mind off of their assessment. Unfortunately, I did require a surgical intervention for one area on my arm and I can not praise this practice enough. Professional, kind, and so attentive. Dr. Housel is fantastic! His keen sense of humor and obvious awesome rapport with his staff was so impressive! Having the lab right on the premises made it very easy for him to assure he got it all, not requiring me to have to come back! Hands down, the best office experience I’ve had in years!

Dr . Housel and staff were the best. They were friendly, courtesy, answered any questions and knowledgeable of their positions. One of the best experience I ever had with any doctor and staff. The waiting time was very good also. High recommend Dr Housel and staff.

After going to another dermatologist in the area, who neglected to listen to my concerns about a spot on my leg for 2 years, a biopsy was finally done. When I received a diagnosis that it was a carcinoma, I was shocked and I knew that I had to go to another dermatologist. I called the office of Dr. Joseph Housel, (Housel Dermatology) and asked if they were taking new patients. The office said "yes", and I told them my story and that I was scared. I had never met Dr. Housel and within two weeks of that phone call, surgery was scheduled right before Christmas. I met this wonderful doctor and his awesome staff the day of my surgery. Dr. Housel performed the surgery and got all of the carcinoma. It was the best Christmas present I could ever received. I would recommend Dr. Housel and his awesome caring and professional staff to everyone. I thank God my friend told me about Housel Dermatology. Dr. Housel saved my life!!!!!

Dr Housel and his staff are excellent providers. Treat you with respect and caring. I had a large basel cell on my nose, it was a process but I can't tell you how amazing the results, were. Would recommend Dr Housel to anyone.

I have been going to this practice for a few years. I have had Mohs surgery twice. Dr Housel is gifted and kind. Elizabeth does my skin checks and is awesome. I could not be more please with this practice.

He is highly proficient and skilled in the Mohs procedure, as well as in other Dermatological procedures and advancements! The NP was wonderful, fast and well versed. The office is always so efficient and well run.

Dr Housel and his staff were caring and very professional. Nurse Gabby was very attentive to all my needs and Med Assistant Riley explained everything very thoroughly. My only concern was not having any way to get the staff when I needed help due to excessive bleeding. I highly recommend Dr. Housel for any dermatology needs.

This dermatology practice is very organized and well run. Everyone I have met along the way keeps me well informed as to what is happening or going to happen next. I had Mohs surgery to remove Basal Cell Carcinoma from my chest.

Dr Housel removed a cyst from my eyebrow. His staff was excellent, they explained everything and answered my questions. Dr Housel himself is also excellent. I felt very comfortable with him. Would highly recommend !

I would recommend Dr. Housel to my friends and family. The Office is clean, organized and well designed. The staff is courteous, respectful and professional. I saw Breanna Gallagher PA. She explained what she was doing and why, and she listened to my questions and concerns. It led to a very productive dialogue and a pleasant experience. I also saw Dr Housel. Dr. Housel again explained what he was doing and why. He answered my questions in language that was easily understandable to a lay person, and he was very forthright. Dr Housel was very professional, but also tried to put the patient at ease. We discussed this visit, and a future action plan.

I could not be more pleased with my visit. Jennifer was extremely thorough and explained everything as she went along . Everything for aftercare explained.

Dr. Housel has an awesome bedside manner, caring and listens. He has team that has everything moving smooth from check in, in room process, new staff working with him and learning. My visits are quick and I am in an out.

I went in for a simply yearly checkup and Dr. Housel right away pinpointed a suspicious spot and identified it as basal cell carcinoma. Which the pathology report came back as such. He really cares and spends time with his patients. I feel very confident going to him. I would recommend him to anyone (and I have and I do).

Have yearly check-ups with Liz Johnson. Very friendly and professional. Have taken care of some skin issues promptly and successfully. Would not go any where else.

I recently had a Mohs Surgery, to remove a cancer from the my face very close to my eye. Dr Housel and those who assisted him made this experience literary a breeze. I can’t say enough about this team. No issues after the surgery, and mending well.

Dr. Housel removed a basal cell on my leg. I have never in my life of 86 years experienced such a caring doctor and his staff. He talks to you and treats you like a human being. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Definitely a top rate doctor.

Had my first Mohs Surgery done yesterday and was very pleased with how it all went and the personal treatment I received from the entire staff. I was particularly happy with the care I received from Kassy and the great conversation while she was applying pressure to stop my bleeding.

I visited today to have a check on a cancer surgery done by Dr. Housel on May 12. Kelsey was the nurse and Nancy assisted with bandaging. As there was a concern about possible infection Kelsey did a culture. I find these women extremely helpful and always answering questions I have. The whole staff is excellent and so is the doctor.

Dr. Housel removed a basal cell cancer between my eye and nose this past June. He was articulate, direct, and cautious. My scar is practically invisible because I followed his patient care directions and product recommendations. I highly recommend him and believe he is very professional, talented, and honest.

Dr. Housel and his staff are all extremely professional and courteous. The office is beautiful. I would recommend Housel Dermatology to everyone I know. Overall great experience.

General environment feels more like a spa/salon than a medical office. Scheduling error resulted in 25.00 fee which office manager refused to waive and immediately submitted to collection agency - the most unapologetically greedy "profits over patients" business practice I have ever hear of or experienced.

The staff was wonderful and very professional. Dr. Housel made me feel very much at ease and explain every step of the surgery and answered every question i asked. The most friendly and professional medical personals that i have ever meet. I would highly recommend Housel Dermatology, P.C.

Dr.Housel and his staff are actually saving my dads life. And I can not thank them enough. The staff have move so quickly to schelude and have removed very aggressive cancerous lesions from his head and neck. They can not do enough for us! Dad is 85 years old and we have been chasing these lesions for over a year. Multiple procedures with Dr. Housel. The entire staff has become like family to us. God has sent us an army of angels. From the first day we walked in!

Worse place ever, staff was a joke, laughable. I recommend this place for entertainment only .

A word of warning: If Dr. Housel diagnoses you with a melanoma, insist on seeing the pathology report yourself. While what you have may require removal, it may not be a melanoma. It will prevent you from having to declare on all future medical records that you had a melanoma. As an aside, his office staff is completely unprofessional and the wait times in his office are ridiculous. If you can't accommodate your patients in a timely manner, but back on your patient load.

I arrived at his surgery at 12.45 pm for a 1.15pm appointment. At 1.45pm I left with little likelihood of my appointment being fulfilled. His office staff are rude ,ignorant,unhelpful,unintelligent and totally inefficient about what they are doing . They also make comments about patients behind their glass screen that can easily be heard .. one woman in particular needs to be fired !!!! I would never go back there to receive third world quality treatment or service ,

The best dermatologist I have been to and having had over 50 cases of skin cancer, I can speak from experience. He has the best skills and bedside manner possible. You will not find better doctor. I trust him completely. I am so gIad I moved o Syracuse and found him.

Excellent surgeon. I am so impressed with Dr. Housel after having Mohs surgery. He is truly amazing. I had one surgery at another office for skin cancer in Syracuse and still have a terrible scar. No one can tell that I just had surgery on my face two months ago.

I had a 6m follow up appt, I never recv'd a confirm. call, After receiving a bill for a no show fee I called the office to ask if they still make confirm. calls they said it was an automated system I asked to speak to supervisor since I had never rcv'd a call, & stated I will provide phone records to prove so. When a "supervisor" got on she never gave her name her exact words were "We can waive this fee for you, but you will need to find another dermatologist." Just unbelievable/unprofessional.
