I had the most unprofessional experience of my life. The billing rep Tara (it may have been Kat) told me there's no way to know whether my insurance will cover my treatment, which is incorrect according to my insurance company and defies common sense. She told me that they just play games and you can’t trust whatever they say. She explicitly confirmed that I would need to pay the first $2,000 of the $5,000 bill out-of-pocket before they could even determine if the rest would be covered. I analogized it to placing a $2,000 ante for a $3,000 bet and she confirmed it. Whether any of this information is true, they could have told me over the phone before I took half a day off work to come in. When I left they asked me how it was. I simply said, "Bad."
