Dr. Joseph Steven Casaly

Hi Dr. Casaly and Dr. Casaly's office, You all may remember me but it's unlikely. I'm Jacqueline Kirby and I was briefly a patient of Dr. Casaly (migraines, but his recommendations to me quickly relieved my problem) but he was a long time advocate of my mother for 10+ years I believe, Andrea Lair-Kirby.  My mother passed away Sept 21, 2019 due to complications of radiation treatment related to her melanoma. Never melanoma -- that didnt get her, she'd never let it! As a seasoned ICU nurse today (just like my mom was) I realize that my mother didn't always get the respect, or sometimes even treatment, she deserved. However, today, I wanted to reach out to Dr. Casaly and his office to express my appreciation for everything you did for my mom. From pain treatment alone, to listening to her, for being flexible to her availability. My mom even basically forced me to go to Dr. Casaly when I suffered from migraines. I didn't want to go to any doctor, I was just exhausted. But my mom advocated for me and I wished I was experienced enough to have advocated for her. But in regards to her longtime struggle with ATN, I feel that you guys always did! I remember my mom telling me Dr. Casaly's twins went to UCONN for basketball. I turned 25 last week, I remember being just a kid when she told me that! I hope that them, Dr. Casaly, and your team are doing well.  I have learned the last couple years, being an ICU nurse during a pandemic, and dealing with everything that the job entails besides a pandemic (I am grateful I got my feet in the water before everything hit) that your entire office deserves appreciation.  My mother was a firecracker, and as a patient, one that few understood. Even as a child, I understood that Dr. Casaly and his staff understood her. I hope when he has the time, Dr. Casaly can read this message.  THANK YOU. I don't even know where to start. One day he's open, the next day he's out for 30+ days and then he moves to a completely new city. I couldn't even get my prescriptions renewed. He didn't appropriately educate me on the possible side effects or interactions of my medications and also didn't seem to be interested in getting to the root of my migraines, but continued to prescribe me more medications and making me come every 3 months. I do not recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Casaly for years, and he is fantastic. He is a great listener and is very responsive. HOWEVER, he recently moved to a new practice. It is worse than horrible. I tried for months to get an appointment and was finally told his phone system wasn't working correctly. Then at my first appointment in his new office, they didn't have my files and had to reschedule me once I arrived. His staff is completely inept, and I found out today that his "new policy" is that he no longer sees established patients. We pay a specialist price of $197 to see a physician assistant. If you use any medical sharing networks, they do not know how to handle those claims, so don't even try. It breaks my heart, because he is a great doctor. But I will be finding a new doctor now.

Don’t bother going here. The office staff is the WORST I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been trying for 3 weeks to schedule a routine visit. They DO NOT answering their phones or return calls. At this point I’m completely out of meds with no refills. Experiencing the worst pain ever. Finally just pushed the number to speak to NP and had her put me through to scheduling and was told he couldn’t see me until April! Rude, hateful people! I’m going to file a complaint with the BBB & the TX Medical Board

Just left his practice, I saw him on a Tuesday and called back to office that Thursday and got a message he closed his practice. Not sure what he was telling my disability provider but they discontinued it well he told me I still was not able to work.

I will NEVER go back.He took me off of 4 prev. meds from a previous dr, all at once. This caused a lot of probs that wasn't necessary. He put me on 2 preventatives that caused me to not feel myself, was in a deep depression, and couldn't take care of my family for over a month. I called his office as soon as I realized how bad it was getting (suicidal thoughts). Was told to stop taking beta med but depressed still. I call 3 more X w/in week but never hear back even w/ 24hr vomiting & migraine.
