Everyone in the office is so friendly and nice. The ladys in the front office are always so sweet. NP Katie is who I talk with and she is the best. I have a 2 hour drive and it’s definitely worth it!

First time visiting this clinic today. The provider that I went in to see was NP Katie Grose. Although the wait was a little longer than I had expected, the care provided was top notch. Clarity, confidence and work ethic are just a few of the words I would use to describe the service provided by NP Grose. She communicated effectively, provided a clear cut laid out plan, and did so in a manner that was encouraging. I honestly can't think of a visit I have ever had at ANY provider where I felt could have been better than this visit. After seeing the time and energy put into me as a patient, I can understand why my wait was a little longer. NP Grose is an absolute asset to this clinic, and I am thankful my first experience at this clinic was with such an incredible provider.

A couple of years ago Dr Brooks did a radio frequency ablation on me. He was amazing and I was finally out of pain. Obviously the nerves grew back and I'm in pain again but not nearly as much! I for sure will be back to have the procedure again. Dr Brooks was amazing!

Absolutely awful, they dont treat patients like human beings. You can never get ahold of anyone other than a receptionist who may or may not pass on your message, and they most certainly will not call you back even if you're in agony, they simy DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. And they'll drop you right before an appointment ensuring you'll be in pain until you find a new pain management center. Absolutely awful, they dont treat patients like human beings. Office and billing employees seem to be absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I overpaid my sons bill by $872 due to a mix-up with insurance and the EOB and no employee from Pain Consultants will address this. They WILL NOT contact me, speak with me, or fix this error!! Unbelievable!! I have been working on fixing this for just under 3 months. I have called them, I have faxed, them, I have mailed them, I have had my son call them and I am still receiving a bill from them saying it is unpaid and it was overpaid by $872 on April 1, 2021. What is wrong with this office and this business practice to allow this to happen and to be unwilling to fix it.

After being referred from his primary care physician, this office took several weeks to debate about whether or not my father was “a good fit” for them. Only to be told by phone that he is not “a good fit,” without ever being giving the courtesy of an appointment. In the meantime he’s been suffering an incredible amount of back pain and could have took that time to seek treatment elsewhere, instead of waiting several weeks for a incompassionate phone call. There has been little or no concern for him, his pain, or his time in my opinion. I would not recommend wasting precious time with this office or practitioner. One star is to much. **Just wanted to clarify that after noticing the rebuttal to my review that my father was not seeking opiates. If you notice in the original review I never said “two weeks” and only mention how “in compassionate” my mother and I found the staff after “several weeks”. We still stand by our “one star review” even after the rebuttal. My father has since had surgery on his spine and does not require “opiates” or any pain medicine, he was not seeking “opiates’. Please make your own educated opinion and know that this review is left on our real experience and hoping to help the general public seeking “compassionate care”, which we do not believe we found here.** After being referred from his primary care physician, this office took several weeks to debate about whether or not my father was “a good fit” for them. This doctor is a joke and shouldn’t even have a license to be a doctor. I didn’t know you needed to audition in order to be even considered a patient. The girls in the office are nasty and disrespectful. I will make sure to let everyone know in Colorado Springs that Dr. Brooks is a horrible doctor and has no feelings for his patients. I don’t understand why this man became a doctor, if he is not willing to help people. Response to your reply: You should answer your phone as fast as you answer your bad reviews. I actually called your office multiple times, but your office staff especially Brittany, only picks and chooses who they want to call back. I am appalled by your attitude and professionalism. I will be calling the board tomorrow and reporting you. This doctor is a joke and shouldn’t even have a license to be a doctor. Took three weeks for anyone to call back for an appointment after having all my records, mri results and referral. After 2 weeks in severe back pain I called the office to see when I could schedule and No one called back. They didn't even call to at least update me if the doctor had even seen my mri and records. Three weeks later I finally get a call from this office asking if I wanted to still schedule. By this time I had already seen a better Doctor Sayer in Rockrimmon for a consult and received my first injection. That office called me back immediately, requested for my records, scheduled me 2 days later and had my injection within 5 days. I was in so much pain and it was a relief. I left a message expressing my concerns how unprofessional and uncompassionate this office seems to be and still no one reached out. So if you are in pain call someone else this doctor will take his time. Took three weeks for anyone to call back for an appointment after having all my records, mri results and referral. I have been a patient of Dr. Brooks for a very long time. He helped my with medical issue of my back and has always been very friendly and considerate. The nurses there have been also great And compassionate. The front office desk staff are not from friendly and and can be somewhat abrupt. I recently got A letter form them saying I was being released as a patient. I was honest with them about my intense pain from tearing up my rotator cuff. There was some miscommunication about how to get pain meds since they were my one stop pain management place for any type of pain. They said was threatening on the phone when that is fArthest from the truth one can be. My wife was standing next to me during this call and can attest to that I was upset about them not attending my needs for the intense pain but never ever threatened anyone. Like I said there was miscommunication. It’s unfortunate that a long term physician patient relation has to end due to some lies form for office staff. I would give 5 stars to Dr. Brooks for his medical care l, 5?stars to the nurses for their medical care. But watch out with the front desk. They have the ability to torpedo anything you may call them to talk about. Why I have a three instead of 5 star rating. I have been a patient of Dr. Brooks for a very long time. Not sure if my previous post made it to dr. Brooks site. I have been a chronic pain patient for about 10 years and have had 4 docs treating me. One was only interested in the $’s that can be made for sticking a needle into someone. The other was in Denver and turned out to be too far to go to. The third discontinued his practice. The fourth is dr brooks and his PA, Kerry Garcia. As a result of the 10 years that I have spent as a chronic pain patient I have learned how difficult it is to maintain a knowledgeable, compassionate, and empathetic practice when there are so many ”laws and restrictions ” placed on this area of medicine. I have found that dr brooks and his PA Kerry Garcia have been able to cull out the noise and the drug seeking patients and maintain an excellent relationship oriented and professional practice in such a difficult climate. I would recommend their care to anyone. It is knowledgeable, honest, intuitive, and compassionate. Not sure if my previous post made it to dr. Brooks site. Dr. Brooks and Nurse Practitioner Leslie are a huge blessing! They listen to you and work with you the entire way! They do not just push meds at you as the solution. They do offer many legit alternative ways to help relieve your pain. I must give a HUGE shout to Dasia and ALL of the ladies who help Dr. Brooks run the office. If it wasn’t for them, the operation would not be successful. The entire experience is awesome! They are friendly, smile, they care and ask about your personal life! When my sister passed and I got married, it was like sharing this news to family, when I told Leslie. She has a pure heart and I’m so blessed she cares for me! She honestly made me feel like I was part of her family, it’s refreshing to have doctors who actually care about you!! They treat you as a real person and patient and not just a number. I will say, it is EXTREMELY difficult to find good doctors who are not quacks! If you are looking for profesional care, but with a loving and caring staff, please, trust me, go to Dr. Brooks. I’ve been in pain management for over 10 years and have had 3 different doctors. Trust me, Dr Brooks and staff are the way to go! When I discovered my insurance would not cover Dr Brooks anymore, my husband made me stay with him. It’s so worth the treatment, we now pay out of pocket. And honestly it only increased my payment by $50 per visit. This is very reasonable for a specialty doctor!!! The staff is aware of my financial situation and they just care, help assist, and it is a huge relief from stress and anxiety theses situations typically bring forth. From a profesional to you, please trust me, if he’s taking new patients, this is the doctor you want! Plus he is valued as one of the top doctors for injections in CO! He is precise, accurate and extremely trust worthy! Thank you Dr. Brooks, Leslie, Dasia and staff for helping me maintain my pain levels, working with me, distributing professionalism, being kind, loving, caring and warm. Thanks for being real and providing the services your patients deserve! Thank you for treating me like a human being and not drug addict. Thank you for helping me live the quality of life, I deserve. I know I will never be 100% well with pain, but since it’s my reality, I take who I want my doctor to be extremely seriously! If you want the best treatment, I highly recommend booking with Dr. Brooks. It’s refreshing to have a team who care about me and keep me as a priority, not the money that many get lost in!!! Thank you for all each of you do! I appreciate each and everyone one of you! Now, go book your appointment!! Dr. Brooks and Nurse Practitioner Leslie are a huge blessing! Having worked in a very fast paced environment with a lot of heavy lifting, walking reaching twisting stooping for 30 of my years I have accrued through age and hard work ?? a few areas of severe pain in my neck and back. Finally at a point in life that I am able to address these issues. I really want to enjoy life and the outdoors. So many things I couldn’t do before and now I can at least do some things now and I am doing more. I have found all the staff at Dr.Brooks office to be kind and Knowledgeable. Dr. Brooks surgical center runs smoothly. His PA’s are phenomenal. They listen, and do what they can to help. If they can’t they can’t and are open and honest about what they can or cannot do. Much appreciated relief. Thank you Dr Brooks and Staff for making my quality of life so much better.

n my humble opinion I am as close to an expert on medical most everything AS A Patient. My References to follow. Whatever rating system you use, give them the highest possible scores/marks/points. All A++A++ 100% 100% YAY! YAY! Thank you ! Thank you ! I was referred to Dr Joseph Brooks at Colorado Springs Pain Consultants in 2011 I have seen Bridgette Coyne very often I am very grateful and happy with both of them for my pain care/management. Dr Brooks listened carefully to my story of my battle with chronic pain from tramatic injuries from auto accidents. How it had affected my life. He asked detailed questions about all the medical procedures I had to date. My injury history started in 1986. So it is very detailed. I have always felt much compassion and caring. And trust with them. My questions and concerns are addressed. The honest truth, I would not be walking if they were not a HUGE part of my medical care. My quality of life would be negatively effected with them and the care I recieve. Why do I say I am close to an expert ? I have interacted with hundreds of medical people. Doctors, nurses, medical techs/staff of nearly every type, hospitals, medical test after tests, so many procedures, surgeries, prescriptions, x-rays, etc…..not only pain. Doctors with many specialties. Because My hardest experience with anything medical was watching my child be a patient. He was born with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. A neuro muscular disease which attacks all the muscles including the heart. There is no cure. His life was full of medical everything. So many people and situations. That is more experience than I didn’t want. Being a mother of 4, I had the rountine family medical stuff I was charge of. Also 3 pregnancies. 1 was a C Section. More doctors, more experience. My personal experience as a patient. My spine was already badly damaged at the time I was accepted as a patient of Dr Brooks. In 1986 I was the passenger in a car that was T Boned. Lower spine injury. 5 disc were removed, replaced, repaired with a discectomy and spinal fusion. No pins, no rods. Disc were made out of substance my Dr called magic cement. I had to learn to walk again. To stand straight so my spine would be straight, braces. But I did very good over the years. I worked very hard to take care of my back, weight lose, I wasn’t having terrible daily pain. I did get used to some of it. I was also becoming numb in many places. But in 2010 and 2011 I was involved in 2 more accidents. One I was rear ended by a driver going 42 mph while I was stopped. More serious injury not only to my lower back. My jaw was cracked. AND 2 disc in my neck were broken. More surgery, PT, tests, rehab…………I had the 2nd discectomy and cervical spinal fusion. With metal parts. And this neck surgery put much stress on my already broken spine. I was having unbearable pain in my neck and back. Numbness, tingling. I felt like I was being ripped in half. How could I learn to live with it? The pain changed everything. And I didn’t want to rely on pain meds. I would have to learn to use a varirty of pain management tools. Luckily I was referred to Dr. Brooks. He and Bridgette hellp me know how and what I need to maintain walking, and my chronic pain. There are 100 more details and years to my story but this is enough info to state my expert opinion. I know that many things have changed in the medical field all these years. But again, in my opinion, the patient has a responsibility to help with thier own insurance, admin and paperwork. Be on time. I don’t understand the negative comments other patients have made about rude staff or strict, complicated rules this office has to follow, and such……. That does not effect the a persons years of education, or knowledge, experience or compassion to be an awesome doctor. Complain to person that is rude or to a business page. Don’t use it as a medical reference. n my humble opinion I am as close to an expert on medical most everything AS A Patient. My References to follow. I have been a patient of Dr. Brooks now for several years if not the last decade....I would give him 10 stars if I could! I continually brag on him to my friends, family and co-workers some of whom have gone to him to receive treatment for their chronic pain. As I understand it, he also suffers from back pain and has some surgeries in his past so I know he can relate and is empathetic to the pain I feel. I go see him every 6 months which is usually how long the radio frequency ablation last for me. Your results may differ, but I know that if I wait until the 7th or 8th month, then I will be in more pain. Thus, I make it a point that once I take my second pain pill every day for a week is my trigger point to get into my VA PCM to get a referral to him. Whether you have surgery at Kissing Camels on Tuesdays or Premier Surgery Center on Thursday, he makes it convenient for me to choose what days are best for me to recover and heal before going back to work. Both centers are terrific! The staff is friendly but professional. Usually, they greet me by my first name and they work efficiently through the in-processing paperwork. Additionally the surgery center always called me a few hours after the procedure to check on me and see how I am doing. This is something that resonates with me at a professional level because only professional organizations act in this way. Realize that if you read through several of the reviews that are less than 5-star ratings usually come from folks who come to the doctor/patient relationship with completely unrealistic expectations and then ding him because they didn't get what they wanted usually citing some minor point of contention that is blown out of proportion. Dare I say, after reading several of these reviews, I felt that some of these folks appear to be very entitled as if they are better than everyone else which I usually manifests itself as the adult version of a temper tantrum that I expect from my 2-4 year old grandchildren. Thus I want to set the record straight because Doctor Brooks is a man of great integrity and humility and is someone whose expertise I trust and value. Having served in the Army for over 20 years, I can quite honestly tell you I and my family have seen excellent doctors and less than good doctors within the Tricare, VA and civilian health care systems. I can unequivocally say, Doc Brooks is among the best and I personally consider him a top tier doctor in his field! I absolutely love going to this office!! I have never ever felt judged for saying something isn't helping my pain like I have had a previous office's. I am very happy with this clinic. I have bilateral hip dysplasia, and various other injuries as I've lived a full life. They have never treated me with anything other than respect. I'm an LPN, i have been for over a decade, and very used to doctors. I've seen Dr. Brooks once, and he is very straight and to the point, so if you're looking to be coddled he is not the one for you, and that's okay! Everyone needs something different from their providers. I see Danielle regularly, and I absolutely love her. I've broken down several times, and she has always been compassionate, and understanding. She has even done her best to make me feel better about my situation. The staff has always been kind to me. Yes, most of the time you have to leave a message, however as long as it's not a Friday they always return my call the same day. I've only seen one other pain doctor, years ago, and the experiences are night, and day. The other office pushed some heavy pain meds, as well as lots of injections even though I've been proven mostly resistant to the steroids they use. He never actually listened, and instead tried to numb me to the pain without actually finding a solution or explaining why I was in so much pain. I now know what is wrong with my body, and have the tools to help myself, because the time was taken by Dr. Brooks to explain my injuries, and answer the questions I had. I've been seeing one of the NP's(which I prefer) for sveral years and have found them to be very professional and knowledgeable. Since I'm a retired Critical Care RN I tend to be hypercritical of healthcare providers and I have no complaints regarding the Professional staff, but the office staff are at times a little bit on the rude side. Overall I'm staisfied with the care I have received, the neuropathic pain I have in my feet is well controlled.

I have seen several pain doctors over the years, but Dr. Brooks has virtually eliminated all pain in my lumber, thoracic, and cervical areas. I receive his Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) of the nerves in my lumbar and cervical areas. Tricare is not allowing him to perform RFA on my thoracic area however Dr. Brooks was able to do a facet nerve block that eliminated 80% of my pain in that region. Dr. Brooks is a consummate professional with a great staff. He works out of two surgery centers, one on Tuesdays and another on Thursdays to fit almost any schedule. Interestingly, he also has back problems and so is easy for him to understand the kind of pain I am experiencing. I cannot say enough good about him and his practice. He tells you the truth about what he can and cannot do, and therefore does not oversell his capabilities like I have experienced with other pain doctors. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with him.

I had an appt to see one of Dr Brooks NPs for an intake evaluation. I was NOT told I needed to bring a Colorado ID in, I was told I needed to bring my insurance cards. I realize most likely the NP could NOT prescribe a narcotic as evidently the ID card is an office requirement. However instead of either seeing me and telling me a narcotic could not be prescribed and then bring the ID in and medication would be prescribed or even saying they would reschedule the appt when I had the ID, they just said I would not be seen. When I asked for my paperwork back the receptionist did not acknowledge me and started to copy the paperwork. When I removed my paperwork from the copier (as they have zero rights to my information as service was refused) she yelled at me and told me to get out. Truly this is a practice with no regard for clients.

Posted by Donna Kelly. After reading other reviews it should have been a red flag that there is something wrong with this doctor's office - many negative reviews. Had appt today -- office staff was impersonal and uncaring. I made appt to see Dr. Brooks but was told today that initial appts are with nurse practioners. I'm not going to pay a large copay plus have my insurance billed for a visit with a NP -- I believe this office is taking advantage of patients in need of help by adding an unnecessary additional visit just for name, address, etc info -- so I'd pay another high copay plus they'd bill my insurance too for an unnecessary visit. I wasn't told the appt was with a NP - led to believe it was with the doctor. I'll find another doctor to see who is thoughtful of the costs to the patients. Be aware -- the reviews should be a red flag about this office experience -- I suggest you go elsewhere. Posted by Donna Kelly. The staff was very rude. I brought in the ten pages of paperwork up front and when I walked in they refused to see me because I wasn't there 30 minutes earlier. No one had told me that even if you bring your filled in paperwork, they still want their 30 minutes. They refused to see me and when I got angry, they decided not to let me ever be a patient there. Thay was one mean receptionist! I'd recommend you do NOT go here because you'll have trouble getting past the bulldog receptionist! Update: I had bronchitis and was very sick that day I was refused service because I didn't have paperwork filled out. You can't miss appointments even if you're sick with any pain management doctor, or you won't get your script. Withdrawal sucks! I am going to try again to see the doc, if I can get by the scary receptionist! Will update! The staff was very rude. I'm extremely disappointed. Dr. Brooks had been my doctor at Colorado Springs Pain Relief Centers and I also saw Bridget Coyne there. Dr. Brooks left that clinic suddenly and a few months later, Bridget said I had tested positive for morphine. Even though I cannot take morphMorand it's on my allergy list. Long story short....she discharged me even though the medication I was on was listed in my medical records from day 1, I brought the bottle in (it was Fiorcet for migraines) and when I was discharged by Bridget, I brought a letter from the pharmacist to show proof that it was the Fiorcet because it has a medicine in it like codeine which after the body processes it, it comes out in urine as morphine. ( My pharmacist explained all of this to me after I called him and asked him if there was anything and my medications that would cause this to happen and he researched it and wrote me a letter so that I could take it to Bridget and show her that I had done nothing wrong.) But Bridget wouldn't talk to me and I lived through hell for 2 months until Dr. Howard came and talked to me. He saw my evidence and believed me, even though we just met. Then Dr. Howard became my pain management doctor for the next 3+ years. However, He moved so referred me to Dr. Brooks again. When I learned that Bridget also works for Dr. Brooks again, I was concerned and initially didn't want to see her. Then I decided I really did want to see her. I wanted to finally have the chance to ask why she did that to me.... refused to give me even 2 minutes of her time, to look at the evidence that I'd done nothing wrong. I hoped to be able to work together after clearing the air. I made an appointment after being told that when you make an initial appointment with Dr. Brooks, you see a NP instead (which is backwards from any clinic I've ever gone to). I loved Dr. Brooks previously and trusted him, which is big for me. I have ended up in the hospital after botched procedures and I had absolutely no complaints about dr. Brooks.I wanted him to know what happened and my experience with Bridget and why I had concerns regarding whether Id receive unbiased care at this clinic, so wrote a letter to him. I received a phone call today that my appointment is cancelled and they don't want me as a patient. I was truly surprised because I thought Dr. Brooks was the kind of doctor who listens and works with people. Unfortunately, I know now that I was wrong. Even if I wasn't accepted as a patient, it Would have been nice to finally know why someone would do something to you that causes true suffering and not even explain why they won't listen to the truth rather than admit they made a mistake. Pride destroys, one way or another. Please be very very careful with Bridget so this doesn't happen to you. Make sure everything is clearly documented, cross all of your T's and dot All of your I's 10 times over- and don't even think about making a mistake (or even if she makes a mistake, it's still your fault in her eyes, apparently). You are the one that will be forced to suffer the consequences. And hopefully Dr Brooks will listen to you before allowing her to just arbitrarily discharge you. My experience with Bridget caused me to have a completely different viewpoint than I previously had.... I used to think that as long as you did everything right, that these kinds of things can happen to you because how can you be accused of doing something wrong but you didn't do? I used to think that patients who are discharged from pain doctor's offices we're the ones in the wrong, that it was obviously their fault or they wouldn't have been discharged. That if they just took their medications as prescribed, and did the right thing they would be just fine. Boy did I ever learn that I was wrong! Just because a doctor, nurse practitioner or anybody else accuses a patient or anyone else of wrongdoing, does not make it fact. I'm extremely disappointed. I just became a new patient of dr. Brooks because I had 3 back surgeries in a 6 month span so my back surgeon said I should see a pain specialist because he himself could not manage my pain for too long. I saw Bridgette in August and everything went fine, when I came back for my follow up in September she had to tweak my medications because my new insurance would not start until after October 2018. But once I would go back for a visit on October 17th she would be able to switch my medications back to what they originally had me on in August. I called the office to confirm what time my appointment was on Oct 17th and I was told that they sent me a letter saying I was rejected from the practice. Which I never received any letter, and I don’t understand why they decided to just cut me out the way that they did when I went and followed all the rules according to their contract. Having 2 of my discs removed and having bent cages and an artificial bone in my lower back causes me extreme pain and I get rejected from the practice for obeying the rules and I have never even seen or met with Dr. Brooks. For new patients they schedule you to show an hour and a half before your REAL appointment. So of course I arrive early with my paperwork already filled out and had to wait 2 hours until 1030 for what I thought was an 0900 appointment.

I brought my elderly mother here. The PA she met was pleasant, sympathetic, and respectful, which I really appreciated, but she didn't offer much help. She wrote a prescription for a medication only marginally stronger (and even that's debatable) than what my mom already had from her PCP, and said to come back in a month. This after waiting weeks for an appointment and filling out stacks of paperwork (they tell you to come an hour early to do it!). It really felt like a waste of time. I get it that they have to be careful about overprescribing narcotics and creating (or feeding) addictions, but surely a person as old and frail as my mother does not present a huge risk. Our experience with the clinic was greatly worsened by the staff and their operations. Aside from the PA, no one I encountered at the clinic was professional, friendly, welcoming, or even civil. I couldn't believe how dour and rude everyone was. And I couldn't believe they had absolutely no accommodations to make things easier for someone with limited mobility. No one ever offered to open a door for us as I struggled to push my mom in her wheelchair. They require a urine sample, but no one can help with it. Surely they have a LOT of elderly and/or mobility-impaired patients, but the staff acted like they had never faced the issue before. They reluctantly offered to do a "cheek swab" instead, but this actually requires the patient to hold an absorbent stick (looks much like a pregnancy test) in his/her mouth until enough saliva is absorbed to activate the test. Sounds simple, but elderly people often have very dry mouths. It took probably 20 minutes for my mom to finish the test (I would have been gagging if I'd had to do that). The irritated tech told us we were in the way, and to go wait in the lobby. She got even more irritated when I asked how to get back to the lobby, and when I asked for help with the door, she huffed and stamped over to open it, letting go before we'd even cleared it. As we sat in the lobby, I could hear a woman at the front desk on the phone with a patient. She asked for the patient by name (so much for privacy!), then proceeded to discuss the patient's situation in detail. Another patient came in to discuss his medications, and he had to do so in front of everyone in the lobby. He was in pain and desperate, needing his refill early. Maybe he was an addict, and maybe they have to be hardened against that, but he was treated with so much contempt and disrespect...all in public. And he got his refill, anyway, so it must not have been such a big deal. So why subject him (and the people in the lobby!) to that? Come to think of it, every patient who came in or the staff talked to on the phone was treated with condescension and as if the staff assumes they are all contemptible addicts. When I told the receptionist that my mom had completed the test (as the tech had directed me to do), she stared at me with irritation, clearly baffled as to what I was talking about. She called the tech, who came out and snatched the test stick from my mom's mouth, then stomped off without a word. How could I go deal with this environment every month?? Fortunately, my mom's home health provider was able to come up with a solution for her, and she's better now. It didn't even require a big-gun narcotic, just a steroid. I called to cancel my mom's second appointment at Colorado Springs Pain Consultants, and the woman I talked to was the rudest person I'd talked to yet. I'm so glad I won't have to deal with them anymore! This was my first (and only) experience with a pain clinic, so maybe this is typical. But based on the horrible attitude of the staff, I would strongly recommend trying another clinic before coming here. I brought my elderly mother here. Dr. Brooks and his team, in my opinion, truly have the best interests of their patients in mind. I believe that he and his staff only want to do right by their patients while mitigating their pain. But, I've sat in the waiting room, and listened to many people speak aggressively and rudely to the receptionists both on the phone and in person. It should have been a red flag when we were unable to even make an initial appointment by phone.  We had to literally walk into the office to make an initial appointment and the front office staff was rude and unprofessional.  After waiting a month to even get an initial appointment, it was nothing but disappointment after that.  Bridget, the nurse practitioner, prescribed the wrong dosage of medication and then wouldn't return voicemails to address the error.  When trying to get into the office to get out of pain and withdrawal symptoms, Dominic failed to even take a blood pressure prior to injection of an anti-inflammatory that didn't even work anyway which we tried to explain.  We had to request the blood pressure taken!  Then Bridget wouldn't even see us to make the medication dosage right.  She had to write up charts and be out of the office by noon which is more important than taking care of patients right???? The front office staff was very uncompassionate and basically said that Bridget could kick us off the program due to not following her medication dosage guidelines.  How could she even not admit her error in prescribing a lower dosage pain medication and then tell the patient too bad you are the one that accepted the prescription.  Obviously these uncompassionate people have never experienced chronic pain and do not care if their mistake causes extreme distress and pain in the process.  We will be cancelling all follow up appointments and seeing a new doctor who is compassionate and a front office staff that is way more professional than what we went through at Colorado Springs Pain Consultants.  By the way, we never even once got to see Dr. Brooks! Doctor Brooks is not a very good pain specialist. I went in for some injections and they only lasted two days!! His staff is rude and very caddy. His bedside manner is cold.

I have been under a pain management program for over 15 years. I called this office, after relocating to Colorado. I spoke to Elisabeth. Very rude, she said "we don't mail out packets or record release forms. You will have to have your records sent to us, from your previous doctor". I asked how can I do that without having signed a release form from your office. What she is saying is illegal and misleading. I have never run into such a lying bunch of BS. I have every record, imagine, test, with me....and My previous doctor will send my records, BUT there has to be a signed release of records form faxed. But this office won't even send me one...lol. And even if my doctor sent my records, this office would have NO record of me being a patient? Wow. I have never, in all my years in Nursing, ICU, Neuro-trauma, flight trauma nursing.....have ever seen anything like this unprofessional, and grossly misinformed person or office. How sad for any patient. I have been under a pain management program for over 15 years. I called this office, after relocating to Colorado. I spoke to Elisabeth. I have called over 20 times, all during business hours and no one ever picks up. It always goes to voicemail. This wouldn't be too big of an issue if it didn't take them more than a week to return your call. I finally went to another doctor for an injection. The injection did not correct my issue so I had to call this office again. I called them 5 times (stating it was urgent) over a 24 hour period. Whoever called me back said I needed a referral and they needed all my records. The paperwork was sent over within the hour, still no call hours later. I live close by so I went in, only to find out they don't handle car accidents. I had told the office staff the reason I needed to be seen was an auto accident weeks ago and they never mentioned it to me. I've been in extreme pain for weeks and I have to start all over. Very frustrating. I have called over 20 times, all during business hours and no one ever picks up. It always goes to voicemail. Understanding, compassionate, and they treat you like a human being instead of being a drug addict like most pain physician in this town. Unless you have pain you do not understand but Dr. Brooks, Bridget and their staff do. Would highly recommend them. Cannot say enough good things about their care. ❤

Several years ago I met Dr Brooks as a patient after he was recommended to me by my Family Doc. At that point I had been to 2 Pain Management Docs already. Dr. Brooks first met with me and we had a lengthy discussion on my back, medications and other things I've tried. He then ask me my goals and what I hoped to do that my back was preventing me from doing and we came up with a plan. We did multiple spinal injections which greatly helped so I then could move on to physical therapy. Dr. Brooks is a caring, compassionate and intelligent guy who really wants to help people and their pain. Dr Joseph Brooks and Bridgette Come are fantastic doctors. I have never been treated so well at a pain management office. With dealing with chronic pain for 7+ years they have offered so many different options and solutions I have not been offered in the past and this was all just within the first visit. The office is very clean and the staff is all super nice and very professional. They truly care about your well being and getting you comfortable with dealing with chronic pain. Dr. Brooks is an amazing person! He takes the time to listen to you and addresses all of your concerns. I have NEVER felt 'rush' or unheard by him or his staff. His procedures are life changing and professional! Gretchen is also amazing at helping you with any referral problems or needs! I can't speak highly enough about this establishment or the people who work there!

Doctor Brooks staff is very rude and misleading in their communication. Doctor Brooks is not a very good pain specialist at all. His expensive injections only lasted two days!! Such a waste. His bedside manner is very cold like his staff. Not a professional doctor.
