Outstanding surgeon,, I'm an Anesthesia provider,, seen them almost all doctors,, I had my surgery done by him, He's gifted, kind and dedicated, His staff is second to no one..

I had my appendix removed with no pain whatsoever! He has done 2 procedures on me with the best results! I would never choose a different surgeon! Love him!!

It has been 4 years ago today that Dr. Abdo saved my life. I was only 37 at the time with no family history of any type of cancer. I was having excruciating abdominal pain that was initially diagnosed as celiac disease and possibly Crohn's disease. Even with dietary changes, I kept deteriorating and getting more sick. Dr. Abdo added me to the end of his surgery schedule (even though it was already long) for exploratory surgery to figure out what was actually wrong. He found a golf ball sized tumor and had to remove 2/3 of my colon due to the location of the tumor. Unfortunately, there were also suspicious looking lymph nodes, and cancer was found in 6 of the lymph nodes he had to remove. Dr. Abdo was at the end of an exhausting day and took the time to carefully inspect every single organ and run the length of my entire small and large intestine to ensure that he got all of the cancer. I still had to go through chemotherapy to make sure that any rogue cancer cells were destroyed, but Dr. Abdo is the one who gave me a second chance at life. He had the terrible job of telling my family that I have cancer, but he was direct and kind. He said it with care and repeated what needed to be said to ensure that my family understood the gravity of my diagnosis. I have been following up with Dr. Abdo for 4 years now, and he has been nothing but kind, caring, and protective of me. He is willing to take the time and answer my questions.

Excellent doctor, excellent staff. Every visit to this beautifully decorated office has been perfect. About a year ago Dr. Abdo removed my gall bladder, and just recently he fixed a recurrent inguinal hernia. Both were done with perfection. The office of Dr. Abdo has my full confidence and 5-star recommendation.

Absolutely love Dr. Abdo! I trust him with my entire family. He's compassionate, caring and trustworthy. I recommend him for all your surgical needs.

Dr Abdo is truly a kind and compassionate doctor. He is thorough so sometimes there’s a bit of a wait between appointments but I’m sure from my experience it is due to the attentive care. After some surgery complications in the abdomen, I’m finally on the road to recovery with doctor Abdo’s care !

Dr. Abdo is A M A Z I N G! He has helped many of my family members in their time of need especially with my brother who was recently diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. When it comes to cancer, Dr. Abdo treats it aggressively and works together with the oncologist to make sure the patient gets the best care and treatment possible. You are in great hands with Dr. Abdo and I highly recommend!

I love this dr. I’ve been suffering for 8 months with stomach issue. He ran a test I’d asked other students for. I was told eat more veggie. My small intestine was paralyzed. He removed it. I’m eating and no constant pain

DANGER! DO NOT GO HERE! I don’t even want to leave one star honestly. One routine Colonoscopy from this man nearly ended my husbands life. Ended up with internal bleeding, blood transfusions, ICU stay and regular hospital stay to recover. Unable to work for months and so much more. My children had to see their father on deaths door! Now huge hospital bills and stress. When we asked him how he could make this situation right. He told us not once but twice we were out of our minds. Thinking we were just out for money. He literally walked away from us and locked himself in the office. Talking to him outside the door he refused to talk or come out like a moody teenager not a medical professional. So sad. Please for the safety of yourself or your loved ones please stay away from this sad excuse of a man and his staff who could care less about you. But trust me they will bill you.

After almost 2 hours, walked out without ever seeing the doctor, just his MA. You think I want him to do my surgery now? I understand, emergencies happen but at least give us an explanation and option to reschedule. I wasn't the only one complaining.

I wouldn’t allow any other surgeon to work on myself or my family. Dr Abdo is as compassionate as can be. Sometimes he runs behind a bit but it’s because he spends enough time with his patients! His staff is equally as kind. I’ve read all of his reviews on here and can’t believe how ignorant some of these people are. Dr Abdo is a surgeon and sometimes needs to do emergency surgeries. If a patient is stable, Dr Abdo can have his PA see the patients while he is with more serious cases. Thank you!

Went to hospital due to severe pain. After a couple tests and an over night stay, Dr. Abdo woke me at 4am telling me I did not have appendicitis and I could go home. After asking why the pain, he told me to see a GYN. ?? After insisting for more tests, he took my gall bladder out saying "good thing, it shredded!" To top off, his office couldn't bill insurance correctly. After 1 1/2yr they just billed another $500 saying it's a deductible that I already paid over 1yr ago. Worst experience EVER!

I scheduled a consult for hernia surgery with Dr. Adbo. The morning of the appointment I spoke with the office & was told they should be on time. However, after waiting over an hour & half, the PA came in & apologized for the delay. At this point I was very upset that they didn't have the courtesy to let me know earlier or that I wouldn't be meeting with the Dr. I left never to never to turn. Can not trust a Dr. who cannot even manage appointments or communicate with patients. UNACCEPTABLE!

Dr. Abdo is a kind soul. I would trust him with my family. He has many years of exceptional service and cares deeply for his patients. Tonight he help ease my suffering on a holiday weekend. I am beyond grateful to work with him at Banner Baywood surgery department. Tonight he saved a life. Then went the extra mile to help me. If your looking for a top notch surgeon consider him he provides services in Mesa and globe.

My experience with this physician was horrible. He has caused me a great deal of pain and now I need additional medical attention. Stay clear of this one folks.

Dr Abdo is so nice. He's very knowledgeable and his P. A. Brett, sits and listens and helps with all your concerns as well. I was in the hospital for a week and one of them came to check on me everyday to answer any questions or concerns. I also had several follow up visits with him or his assistant, who can and will, contact Dr Abdo if he can't answer your question. I highly recommend him for surgery

I stayed an extra day in the hospital because nobody could get a hold of Dr. Abdo for the last 2 days of my visit. Apparently it's OK to charge me for a hospital visit for 2 days because he sent his Assistant to see me, and the 30 second visit was hardly worth hundreds of dollars. What a great strategy to get around the system Dr. Abdo, you should be proud! I don't know if Dr Joseph Abdo is a good surgeon, but I can tell you he didn't treat me right. I would not recommend him to anyone.

My 91 year old mother was admitted to the hospital with stomach pain. Doctor Abdo was on call and it turned out we were so blessed to have him treat my mother. Over several days it became apparent that her symptoms were gallbladder. Dr. Abdo kept us informed every step of the way about her symptoms, surgery, and above all, he was reass urring and always concerned and friendly. If you want a doctor that knows his stuff AND has a great personality then you want Dr. Abdo. 5 Stars!!!!!
