Dr. Villareal are an exceptional team of medical professionals who are kind, considerate, caring, and very knowledgeable in the field of pain management. I am forever grateful I chose to seek his help.

This doctor does not care! I had a complaint so he dropped me as a patient. That is fine with me because he always made me feel bad anyway!

Appointment scheduled for 2:45 and as I was writing this review it was alry 3:40 and no signs of any nurse to give me a courtesy note of the delay. Very frustrating, I will inform the VA of such problem and to be referred to another clinic I hope I get better luck. Sad!

Love Dr. Villareal. He is the reason I can function in society. Myrna is awesome, his office staff and assistants are top notch!!

Dr. Villarreal is knowledgeable, professional and caring. On my initial visit, he listened attentively to my concerns and asked questions directly related to my specific pain and offered options for treatment. On the day of the procedure, the entire staff attended to my needs in a timely and professional manner. The doctor and staff were courteous at all times.

This guy is a fraud and a freak .

I’ve been seeing Dr V for more than six years and both he and his staff have been nothing less than professional and very courteous. The care they give. I’ve read the one-star reviews and I have nothing but sympathy for you. Maybe y’all came in expecting a miracle from Dr V and his staff. He told me when I first visited, that I would be in pain the rest of my life and he could mitigate it. I’ve accepted that. He and PA Bejar have shown nothing but care, compassion and professionalism. I was actually happy to move back to El Paso because I was familiar with the area and coming back to familiar faces ie doctors. After THREE close calls with death you might have white coat anxiety, too. Welll...I wasn't met with the same amount of enthusiasm! Doctor Jose Luis Villareal claims he "read" my medical history and immediately after "supposedly" reading he labeled me. He said he will NOT be MY prescriber for "ANY / ALL" meds to include pain meds. He claims to have seen MY med record. How without MY consent? I haven't been a patient of his for over 3 years! Sounds like a HIPAA violation or Doc Villareal has gone physic! I NEVER held Doctor Villareal responsible for ALL the med issues I have and had. HOWEVER, Doctor Villareal told his staff to tell me he was going to charge me $250.00 PER VISIT, mind you I have THREE health insurances!!! Doctor VillarealI's reasoning was I was in a car accident and "ONE" of "THREE" health insurances flagged case. Another "EXCUSE"! The case was closed LAST YEAR! Last I checked pain management doctors exhausted ALL TREATMENT OPTIONS NOT DUMP THEM BEFORE EVEN SEEING!!!! I'm chronic pain patient, and was great to find a doctor that knows how to deal with all my allergies....and help with pain...and very pleasant

Dr. Villarreal and his staff, especially Lisa, are wonderful. My dad is almost deaf and they took the time to speak to him so that he could hear and understand what was going on. Lisa went above and beyond, by also explaining to some of the other staff how to communicate with him. His pain has been reduced and he is feeling much better. Excellent treatment and very professional staff. I have been treated directly by Dr. Villarreal, or his absolutely professional staff, for nearly 10 years (maybe longer). I would without hesitation, recommend him and his expert medical staff, because of their compassionate and thorough care! Truly, the most knowledgeable, fantastic medical provider in his specialty for Pain Management! I myself, as a retired military veteran, have been Blessed to be his Patient. Excellent doctor, thorough and professional. When he found he couldn't help me he was honest and sent me to someone else.

I had visited many, many specialist before finding Dr. Villarreal and PA-C Myrna Behar who helped relieve me of my most severe pain. The government has very strict rules clinics like this must follow regarding pain management, so do not expect to go to one visit and walk away with meds. Be considerate of their processes, including the days they set as days for refills and other days for procedures. There is a process to pain management and most insurances require step-therapy first before strong meds are ever prescribed. However, stick with whatever plan and diagnostic tests, and therapeutic therapies are advised by Dr. Villarreal and staff and they will figure out what the right course of treatment(s) is for you. Hang in there for the long haul and don't get discouraged, as Dr. V and PA-C Behar work WITH you to solve whatever is ailing you. If you encounter problems with the staff, talk directly to Dr. V. Dr Villareal doesn’t seem to have the patience best interest in mind. I have a St Jude’s Stimulator that is MRI compatible however it failed after only 5 months however he would not authorize for it to be removed and replaced because they were able to get it to function woot being MRI compatible or having all features. When I asked for it to be replaced he fired me as his patient. I would not recommend him to anyone.

He just fired me after being my doctor for years. I wasn't even given an explanation or a referral. I went into the office for an explanation and was told I would get a letter in 2-3 day. Still waiting for letter. I'm really disappointed.

If you are looking for a medical care that meet your health needs then contact Dr. Villareal . I have been seen Dr. Villareal and his nurse practitioner for sometime now. The first time I met them I was very pleased on how they explained to me in a clear language my health condition. When you are in so much pain you look for comfort and medical support. Both are always there to provide the medical support you need. In addition, the medical assistants and front-desk staff are friendly.

Dr. Villarreal just fired me after being my doctor for ten years. No explanation except a reference to a clause in something he said he gave me. If you have another choice, go elsewhere.

The Dr is Great sure like him but do to the office manager . I have find another Dr . Its a shame .

Three different family members...3 strikes! Office staff/manager is awful! Rude, disorganized, negative, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Husband sent home with no meds. Had to make another appointment, pay another co-pay, insurance billed again, to go on "refill" day. My dying mother went in for pallative care. Both Dr Villarreal and Mirna listen to you and they do manage your pain. The whole staff is very friendly and helpful , I am very pleased with their service.

I didn't get far enough to make an appointment with the receptionist. She asked for my insurance card number and i said I would get it which took me 5 seconds but she said for me to call back once I had my card . I called back 5 seconds later and she put me on hold for 10 minutes. I called back and the same thing, I just gave up. Good way to lose business. She needs customer services training or another job.

I was in excruciating pain from spinal stenosis that was growing worse by the day. Dr Villareal performed two epidurals within a few days. The procedures went well and by the next morning the pain was totally gone. Dr Villareal is highly skilled and experienced. Outstanding staff as well! Sure beats surgery.

This company herds u thru like cattle. Not a caring atmosphere. I've only seen Doc. once, they then have nurses see you. He reduced my pain Rx to the point I'm in nearly constant pain. I live more than an hour away. Bad Dr. Try & find diff Dr to treat you.

All I say is Dr Villarreal, Myrna, and his staff are outstanding. El Paso is very lucky to have a compassionate Doctor like Dr Villarreal and his PA Myrna.

I have been a patient sence 2002 and have had numerous procedures done by Dr Villareal and I kno in my heart that God has blessed him with great hand of medicine, even though the procedure is short lived by me each one has gaven me if not one to six months of quality life , which means alot to a person of chronic back pain, when I here of someone in pain I always recommend Dr. Villareal and Merna who give great admiration to what they do to help people in pain , just want to say thank you and God bless . I in fact put the wrong date for my very first appointment and when I called they re-scheduled me for a later time that same day. The staff was very professional and friendly and helpfull Dr. Villareal was caring and personable. He explained my condition to me in a way that was easy to understand and actually discussed several options with me. This hasn't happened before. I highly recommend this doctor and his staff! They are all to a person fantastic

Excellent experience. The staff was courteous and very professional. Facilities were clean, and wait was reasonable considering the number of patients. Dr. Villareal took his time with me and explained everything in detail. He answered all my questions and put me at ease. Would definitely use him again for back injections.

Everyone was extremely courteous. I had no problems getting an appointment, upon arrival I was met with friendly receptionist, which I find is not always the case. The wait time was shorter than I had expected. The nurses were gracious as I am always trying to cut up with them & sometimes they act like you are a bother, but they were kind enough to indulge me & even cut up with me. Dr. Villarreal was pleasant, answered my questions, gave me options then planned out the best course of action.

Waste of time. A lot of paperwork for nothing. He only assumes you want meds. He doesn't offer any suggestions or help. He wrote he suggested exercise and physical therapy to make himself look good. He never suggested any such thing. Complete Phony. I would not recommend to anyone nor would I trust his judgment. He doesn't even listen to you. His mind is elsewhere. It was very uncomfortable there, very hot place. We wasted 3 hours waiting, filling out paperwork etc.. for Nothing.
