Dr. Jose M Ugarte I

Went in for my monthly refills and all was good. When I went to the pharmacy they said they were waiting for the Dr. To approve the refills. So now just might have to go without the medication.

Words can’t describe how great-full I am that my insurance changed and I was able to get this wonder doctor. He made me feel listened… like he actually wanted to know everything about my health and all the details. Not leaving one behind! Couldn’t have asked for a better PCP!

Dr Ugarte is a very kind and wonderful doctor. He has saved my life more than once. God bless you.

Lady’s in the front are horrible always schedule me but never put it in the computer Iv gone 3x and they don’t have me down for a appointment this is the 4th time Iv had to reschedule

To wait more than 45 minutes to be seen is completely ridiculous. They really need to reconsider their wait time. Patients are actually there for serious medical issues and should not have to wait more than 45, and hour max, to be seen. Terrible!

Loved this guy! Really good doctor, but needs better office peronel. Long waits.

He has the best bed side manners. He goes out of his way to be nice and is very attentive to your medical problems. He is a great doctor that will dig till he finds your problem

this is the worst place to be in, people are rude and unprofessional, it takes forever to do anything, no follow-up, call back or whatsoever. I recommend everybody to stay away from this office, being here we a nightmare.

Ugarte is an unprofessional quack who has no understand of professionalism and patient care. When an appointment is 1000 then that's the time of the appointment, not whenever it is you feel like coming into work, talking on the phone and eventually seeing a patient.

Dr. URGATE IS A 5 STAR DOCTOR He is in high demand, so high that he needs to find the RIGHT office manager who knows how to keep up with him and the appointments it's not his fault they are incompetent over all the office sufferes in poor COMMUNICATION and following threw. I was extremely disappointed with the office. I chose Dr Ugarte because he was the Hospice doctor for my Mom and he was very kind and compassionate. The first visit was a disaster. My appointment was at 10:15, but 3 hours later still was not seen!!! They put me in a file room with the EKG machine and forgot about me!!! When my daughter finally went to inquire about when I would be seen, they informed her that the doctor had left over an hour ago to the ER. When were they going to let me know so I could be given the option of rescheduling?? Another hour later I left and rescheduled. A week later my appointment was at 9:15. The doctor didn't even come into the office until after 10:00. A nurse did take my vitals, history and an EKG. Three hours later, still had not been seen!!! When I went to inquire again, was told that the doctor was in a meeting and did not know how long he would be!!! At this point, I decided to go with another doctor. The business manager did refund my copay. It is a shame that this office is managed so bad. There is no reason why patients have to wait so many hours to see a private doctor!!!! Since i was 15 hes been my doctor and im 32 now and he still my doctor ....hes the only doctor i really like alot better than the other doctors i tryed didnt like ....thats just my opion ....really good doctor .....seen me on my appointment time and ...knows what meds to give me for the right things could have it any other way dr. Ugarte is my favorite doctor

I have been here two times, I had to wait more than 2.5 hours both times despite I had an appointment. Would not recommend to anyone.

I came in at 9:00 for a 9:30 appointment and I wasn't seen until 1:00pm! I watched people tell the staff they didn't have appointments (walk ins) come in after me and get seen before me! This clinic is obviously ridiculously under staffed and can never manage to see people even close to appintment times. Do yourself a favor a don't even bother trying to get treatment here. So apparently my original post was deleted......no worries. So my wife had an appointment last week with this clinic for a lump on the back of her neck. We had a 2 pm appointment scheduled last Thursday to ensure it wasn't cancer. Well, my wife wasn't seen until around 5 pm or 5:30. She sat and actually watched people clock out for the day. Needless to say, no X ray was done in which that's what the appointment was for for, instead they tell her she has a heart murmur without even looking, they refilled her blood pressure meds and Birth Control meds and then schedules a pap smear which doesn't need for another 3 yrs. This isn't what we went for!!! They even recommended meds that would cost $300 for my insurance to pay for. This clinic is complete joke!!!! To fix the lump on her neck, they want to recommend surgery for my wife. I honestly do not feel comfortable or confident in their abilities to perform surgery on my wife. The clinic is completely unorganized, it smells bad too. I'm not too sure about the main hospital though. Avoid this hospital if you can. I'm pretty sure this review will get deleted just like my first as this hospital doesn't want anyone to know that over the years they still have have horrible practice in 2015. My wife went to Ugarte for a possible cold while she was approximately 3 months pregnant. Ugarte denied medical attention for my wife after he found out she was taking medication for her reumathoid arthritis, he told her she was knowingly hurting the baby and was not going to see her. My wife had 5 Internal fetal medicine doctors aside from her obgyn, with experience, who were monitoring her medicine intake!!!! My wife went home crying uncontrollably thinking she was hurting the baby. I immediately called the office and demanded to talk to him, a nurse came back on the line and I explained to her why I needed to talk to him, she puts me on hold and then comes back saying he is doing his rounds and would be unable to talk to me. She continued to try and defend him, saying maybe my wife should go to her doctor. Took her to urgent care were they confirmed what my wife was taking with obgyn and they were able to to prescribe her some medication and got better. We were involved in a car accident (hit by a drunk driver) and sent to the hospital in Kingsville (HORRIBLE ER!!!!) My husband was thrown from the vehicle and released from the ER in just 5 hours!! We had a follow up with Dr. Ugarte (my husband's doctor since he was little) and he was shocked at how we were treated in the ER. He re-admitted my husband and ran more test where other major injuries were discovered that were overlooked by the ER doctor. I am grateful for Dr. Ugarte and his thoroughness. The wait in the office is riduculous. My aunt had a 10:30 appointment and didn't get seen till about 2pm. She is elderly and so are many other patients waiting in the office. If you cannot see your patients when you schedule them don't schedule appointments when you are seeing inpatients. its just rude and inconsiderate.
