Dr. Jose Iglesias is phenomenal! He performed the Nuss procedure on our 13 year old daughter in December 2019. This was to correct her pectus excavatum. From our first visit, we felt comfortable and heartened. He explained the procedure and let us hold a titanium bar similar to the one he would place under her sternum. This helped to understand the process better and alleviated some of our concerns for the unknown. He had remarkable bedside manners and was extremely sensitive to my modest 13 year old daughter. He treated us both with professionalism and kindness. We were certain we found the doctor we were looking for to perform this surgery. His staff scheduled an echo and CT scan right away. They made it as easy as possible for us and were mindful of our travel. They went above and beyond, and brought us even more comfort. Juanita was open about her confidence in Dr. Iglesias' skill, knowledge, and experience. She was very reassuring and professional. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Iglesias was precise, compassionate, professional and all-around remarkable. He was extremely skilled and knowledgeable. The surgery went smoothly and my daughter was sent to recovery with her sternum flat for the first time in at least two years. Her heart was finally given the room it had been lacking. We had heard one or two worrisome recovery and incision stories (performed by other surgeons), so we believed we were prepared for the worst. We need not been. Our experience was quite different and I believe it was due to Dr. Iglesias. After seeing her incisions and speaking with Dr. Iglesias, we were pretty confident her recovery would not be as bad as we had heard. We were told about two children's four inch incisions and impossible wound care. In contrast, our daughter had only about one to one and a half inch incisions on either side and a second incision on one side less than an inch. The sutures and coverings were self healing, so it required nothing more then us keeping an eye on them daily. We are about to go in for our one month re-check and her incisions are still covered and looking great. Four weeks post surgery and she is only needing ibuprofen periodically. There is still numbing to parts of her chest, but that is to be expected while the nerves are reconnecting. Dr. Iglesias was an answer to our prayers. He is remarkable at the Nuss surgery and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. He followed up with us everyday at Cook Children's...don't even get me started on that fantastic hospital. It was unbelievable and full of magic. The staff, the volunteers, the communication, everything exceeded our expectations. Cook Children's hospital is full of angels and people who are unbelievably talented, genuine, and caring. This entire experience left us feeling loved and honored. From that first appointment with Dr. Iglesias, to the day we left the hospital, we knew we received the best care imaginable. We loved the office staff and the doctor. He was always smiling, always answered questions, we always felt comfortable and confident with his care.

Dr. Iglesias performed a small bowel resection due to intussuception on my 4 yr old son. He did an amazing job! He was very kind and knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. I asked God to put my son into the hands of a skilled surgeon, and when Dr. Iglesias walked in and introduced himself I felt so blessed. I am so thankful. God bless you, Dr. Iglesias.

Dr Iglesias performed an umbilical hernia repair on my daughter when she was 5. We loved everything about that experience as much as you can for your child having surgery. He was knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable with the whole process. Highly recommend him if your child needs any kind of surgery.

He was great with my son and was one of very few pediatric surgeons that would /could do his surgery laparoscopic. The closest others were hours away. Very great doctor

Dr Iglesias removed 3 cysts from my daughter's lower abdomen laproscopically. He did an excellent job. She had minimal scarring even though the size of one cyst was quite large. He was friendly (though that wasn't important to me), courteous, and thorough. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Iglesias.

I am very greatful with Dr. Iglesias he operated on me 2001 I was 8 yrs old and my appendix bursted Dr Black was suppose to operate on me and he ended up not being able to, Dr Iglesias did an excellent job and I will forever be greatful with him he is a great surgeon ! ???? May God bless him always !????
