Dr. Dutra removed my cancerous thyroid last summer. He is extremely kind and highly skillful. Dr. Dutra is also very perceptive about a patient’s emotional well-being. He took the time to explain the procedure and all the safety precautions he and his team used, which was very reassuring. Dr. Dutra also allowed me to be tested ahead of time for a potential allergy to the post-surgery adhesives to be used. My surgical scar is so very minimal that even new doctors scarcely notice it. He carefully chose an excellent endocrinologist for monitoring my after-care. I was very fortunate to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Dutra is the BEST!! I have been under his care for many years. He made sure I knew every detail about my procedure and made me feel comfortable and informed from start to finish. His team follows his lead and took excellent care of me. I have already referred family members!! He is very caring and kind and he understands how important it is to treat a patient with respect. On a scale from 1-10 he’s off the charts. I give him a 200 plus. Ossie Lock

Dr. Dutra was highly recommended to me from my cousin who is a nurse at Lurie Hospital. I have had three successful surgeries with Dr. Dutra regarding my thyroid cancer. For having three surgeries my scar is very minimal. He makes himself available to his patients. He even gives you his personal cell number. After my third surgery I contacted him and he responded right away. I highly recommend Dr. Dutra.

Dr. Dutra has great bedside manners.

Dr. Dutra was very reassuring. He was able to fit me into his schedule quickly. My surgery went very well, and the positive effects were immediate. My scar is minimal and fading progressively.

I cannot rave enough about Dr. Dutra and his team. He takes the time to explain everything and make you feel at ease. He made sure to answer any questions and was just a text away if anything came up. He is truly an expert in his field and am so thankful to have chosen such an amazing doctor to perform my surgery.

Dr. Dutra is truly a one of a kind amazing doctor. He is incredibly helpful, thorough, easily accessible, answers any and all concerns, and truly cares about the experience and care that his patients have with him. Also, when I went in for my surgery, every nurse, assisting physician, everyone who found out that he was my surgeon gave that admiring "aaah", and a smile and said he's the best on so many levels. I can't recommend him highly enough! Bonus: his office staff have been great too!

Mr. Dutra removed my thyroid on April 17, 2017. Although this was a major surgery Dutra and his team made me feel great. I would recommend this team if you are looking for professionals with a great attitude and thoughtful spirits.

Dr. Dutra is the absolute BEST doctor for thyroid, I found the needle in the haystack. He is kind, compassionate and honestly I think he is really brilliant in his field. After having several consultations regarding my thyroid cancer treatment (including docs from U of C), he is the only doctor who I felt offered the total package. From the moment I met him to his after surgery care every step has been exemplary. You will get only top total care and treatment from Dr. Dutra and his staff.

Dr Dutra is the best. His Ease at communication and approach to my care has been remarkable. I was in medicine 35 years. He was more than I expected and his skills & Knowledge shows in every aspect of his care for his patients. I have encountered a flawless experience throughout my thyroid surgery and care. I am happy I was introduced to him and have heard the same great comments from other physicians and patients.

Dr. Dutra is the nicest and smartest surgeon I have ever met. His nurse is amazing as well. They always spent enough time during each appointment and were very caring during my journey with thyroid cancer. Even years after my total thyroidectomy, whenever I have a question, they are always helpful.

I was recently referred to Dr. Dutra for a biopsy on some swollen Lymph nodes, I was nervous until I sat down and talked with him. I often ask for second opinions but I knew he was going to take great care of me. After the surgery he checked in every day to get progress reports on how I was doing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, that's a100% SATISFACTORY rating of Dr. Dutra and his fabulous team.

The most personable,caring wonderful human being and an outstanding professional.Some of the doctors I've encountered on my cancer journey might be good doctors but over all lack the basic 'human factor'.Well Doctor Dutra is the opposite.He is very kind and sensitive to any issues and addresses them very quickly.To sum it all up If you're looking for the BEST in the field-look no further.

Dr. Dutra is an amazing doctor. In 2011 I found out I had thyroid cancer, with in 2 weeks I had my surgery. It was 8 hour surgery, so I was the only person he took care of that day. He did an amazing job, my scar looks great! He treated me like his own daughter.
