While I moved from Boulder to Dtwn Denver 9 years ago I don't mind making the annual trek to the Boulder Bubble to see Dr D. First off, the wait times are incredible, as in non existent. I showed up at 1359 for my 1400 appointment and was called back immediately. I was in the exam room for less than a minute before Dr D entered. He spent as much time as necessary with me, answered all my questions and alleviated any concerns I had. I find Dr D's bedside manner very pleasant. He seems to genuinely care about his patients, listens well, and explains health issues in a simple and easy way for lay people to understand. Overall I'm in great health for my age so maybe that's one reason my visits are so simple. We spent time going over all my scripts and by the time I hit Costco on the way home they'd already been called in to the pharmacy. When I need refills between visits the BMC office responds to requests in a timely fashion.

I have been with Dr. Delgado for some time now. He is very thoughtful and complete. Covers a lot of ground during annuals, but does not seem rushed. He provides explanations where needed. When there are issues, the first part is to look at lifestyle/diet vs. pushing pills and operations. When an item is outside of his realm, he provides recommendations on the type of specialist and what to ask for. I have read other reviews that complained about the office staff and billing. Welcome to the medical field. I find billing and insurance issues frustrating no matter where I go. But the true medical side is very good.

Always so attentive to detail

BMC is a Doc in the Box - The Fast food of Medical Care. I was a patient of Dr. Jose Delgado for a number of years, but never actually met him, nor saw him in person, nor did he ever call me to check in or relay a test result. Instead, Dr. Delgado ordered blood draws and labs so that he could prescribe medications. I would run out of my daily prescription and go for a refill only to be told by the pharmacy that the doctor ordered no refills. When I phoned BMC, I was told that the Dr. suspended refills and had ordered a test, but did not bother to notify me; not once, not ever. I learned about the requirements from the pharmacy and from a call to BMC. After each one of my subsequent blood tests, (which I had to call and ask about to find out they were ordered), I was never called or notified in any way about the result. I would then call the lab to find out these labs and any resultant changes to medication, then have prescriptions ordered to my pharmacy for pick up. At no time, did BM

I'm just scheduling my 3rd annual review with Jose Delgado. He's professional and personable and I highly recommend as a personal physician.

Excellent doctor. I've been his patient for six years, and really appreciate his approach: Patient, pragmatic, caring, and thorough.

Like others have said....Front staff seems to take pleasure in canceling appointments. I also arrived 10 min late to my appointment. Why? I had moved and the people downstairs wanted to change my info. THE WOMEN AT THE FRONT DESK SEEMED TO TAKE PLEASURE IN CANCELING MY APPOINTMENT. Now, I have had a prescription canceled. No call back in 24hrs. Treated rudely on the phone when I explained I had not heard back form anyone. He has been my primary for 10years. I am HAPPY to leave.

If I could give zero stars I would. I arrived 10 minutes prior to the appointment, and because of the line to check in, arrived 6 minutes past my appointment time. I was told I would need to reschedule my appointment and because I had “already missed half my meeting”. When I asked what I should do, because it was a concussion follow up, she told me she didn’t know and said I should have arrived earlier. I would not recommend ANY doctor with a policy like this, and with reception staff so rude. He should be embarrassed with such treatment of patients, considering he is supposed to be “helping”. He was the on-call doctor for Dr. DUGHI - for over three hours he did not call me back despite numerous calls to the on-call number. After three hours I learned that he told the answering service if I called back just tell me to go to urgent care in the morning. According to the answering service he did not even answer their many phone calls for three hours. This Is unacceptable from him and is also unacceptable for Boulder medical Center. I have been a patient of Dr Delgado’s for over ten years. I went into his office on Friday due to complaints of chest pain. He told me it’s nothing and to take Advil but that if I was really concerned I could do a chest X-ray. I said that I would like to and had it it done immediately after my appointment Friday afternoon. The doctor, his nurse practitioner and the X-ray office downstairs all told me that dr Delgado’s office will call me on the following Monday with the results. Monday came, no one called. I figured the results came back clear but called them on Tuesday anyway just to make sure. I left a message Tuesday and no one returned my call. I then called again on Wednesday morning and finally got a call back Wednesday evening (about five minutes before their office closed) that I wasn’t able to answer so they left a voicemail asking me to call them back. I called back today and they let me know that they found pneumonia in the X-ray. FOUR DAYS later. They sent over antibiotics today for this, instead of Monday. Dr. Delgado is cruel. There is no other way to describe his late-ness policy. I arrived in line at checkin 831am for an 830am appointment. Due to the checkin line being long I did not get to the front of the line until 834am. I was informed that I was considered a no show. All I asked was that the doctor personally tell me that he was refusing to see me. He hides behind his closed door not seeing the cruelty he is delivering to people via his medical assistants that he claims are just doing their jobs. Had my first appointment with him today and he was great. Really listened, and took his time.

I have been seeing Dr Delgado for over 10 years and have never been more happy with a primary care physician. He takes the time to review all of my symptoms in order to offer medical advice and a sound treatment plan. Thank you Dr Delgado

Caught him as he was the on-call physician and he did not call back at all after three hours and many Phone calls of mine back to the on-call answering person I finally found out they reached him after three hours and he said it was too late to call me back and just to go to urgent care in the morning. Completely unacceptable

I'll cut to the chase...I love Dr. Delgado! My husband and I are fortunate to both be patients of his and I highly recommend him. He's always on time, thorough, listens patiently and answers any and all questions I may have. Though we are both in excellent health, he's the doctor I want there should that ever change. He truly cares for and respects his patients and I completely trust him with my healthcare.

Very unhappy with my experience. My first appointment went well I had to schedule and pay for a full dr visit because I needed a refill on a medication that should be able to be handled on a physical but I spent a year trying to schedule a simple physical and they are always 3-4 months out and it's very difficult to schedule that far out for me. When I was at the prior appointment they had a physical a month and a half out great! However this morning Broadway was apparently partially closed for construction and after 6 light cycles at regent and Broadway I took folsom once I got to the medical center check in it took about 5 minutes for someone to be available (I don't blame them at all for assisting others) but by the time I got up they said I had to reschedule if they were able to check me in right away I would have only been 2 minutes late. What aggravated me further was the fact that the receptionist in dr delgado's office said a good portion of the staff was a half hour late due to the same thing. I left my home 50 minutes prior to my appointment that normally is a 20 minute drive everything was out of my control and then they told me they would be able to see me in July that puts me at about a year and a half waiting for a physical that is totally unacceptable I would be fine seeing a PA but was told they do not provide physicals in that office. I'm sorry but it's not worth the aggravation after waiting a year already for an appointment to reschedule it several month out again. Very unhappy with my experience. Terrible experience with this entire office. Avoid Dr. Jose Delgado! I've been his patient for over 6 years and was running late to my appointment. I was fighting traffic as I live in Longmont. I called ahead to say I was running late and check if that would be okay. I was told to bypass the front desk and come straight up. Did so and arrived 7 mins late. Was told by the receptionist I needed to reschedule or that I could go sit for 3 hours and be seen in urgent care! I get it...I arrived late but I did call ahead and it was literally 7 minutes. After taking the time out from a crazy work schedule only to be turned away for what would have been 5 minutes or less with the doctor is unacceptable. I informed the receptionist that I was traveling for work the next 3 weeks and unfortunately this was my only window to be seen. I was then told I could go to Urgent Care. Very cold response! I was told this rigidity comes from the doctor and how he wants to run his practice. Well he just lost me as a long term patient over 7 minutes. Bottom line...in an age of patient satisfaction scores and importance of customer experience this one miserably fails. Skip Jose Delgado and find a more patient friendly doctor who truly cares. Dr. Delgado can't assist your issues regarding billing. He can help you with most of your issues. I've been with Dr Delgado for many years and I can say nothing but good things about him and his staff.

Doctor spends little to no time talking with patient and asking questions. Receptionists are incompetent and put a routine physical with blood work down as a meet and greet. Office took 2 months to mail the lab results and left out the prescription that was asked for. Then, even though they copied our new insurance, sent our bill to the wrong insurance.

A good GP that accepts PHCS affiliated insurance companies.

Dr. Delgado rocks! I do not go to a doctor for the office staff or billing - I go for the quality of the doctor and Delgado is first-class in all ways.

Dr Delgado will take the time to listen and respond to concerns questions without you feeling he is rushed. I have been his patient for 7 years and always feel I am in best hands.

Simply, you can't have a better doctor. Dr. Delgado devotes time getting to know you and your health care needs. He is intelligent, caring, compassionate, funny, and just a great physician. His office staff is well organized and friendly, script refills are prompt, and the wait time to see him is brief. If you need an internist/primary care physician in the Boulder area I highly recommend Dr. Delgado. PS - There are issues with the billing department (which is part of the group practice and not under Dr. Delgado's control). I was overcharged for multiple appointments (they billed Dr. D as a specialist - doubling my copay) and when I got it taken care of they never reimbursed me. The woman in charge of the department is also very rude (the other women I spoke with were nice) and will deny any wrong doing. I had to get my insurance company to call them twice to get things handled. The first time my insurance company called the woman who runs the billing department actually hung up on them. Wild, right? Still - Dr. Delgado is worth the hassle. Yup, he is that good. Just make sure to check on your bills and nip any issues in the bud ASAP. Simply, you can't have a better doctor. Dr. Delgado has been my primary care physician ever since I moved to Colorado. Ive never had an issue making an appointment, I've been able to have my prescriptions filled on time and hassle free. I love Dr. Delgado. He is an amazing doctor, but his staff room is full of rude, snarky, pretentious and annoying women who restrict your ability to get into contact with Dr. Delgado and his Nurse. Whenever I entered for an appointment the ladies at the front desk made me extremely uncomfortable. And they also consistently fail to fax my refills on medications, even though the doctor and nurse have filled out the forms. If Dr. Delgado wasn't so great, I wouldn't put up with his frontroom staff

I have been a patient of Dr. Delgado's for about 5 years since I moved to Colorado. He is my primary care and monitors my bi-polar medications since my release by my psychiatrist in 2009. I have found him to have a sense of humor in addition to being caring and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Delgado. Since becoming a patient of his, I only see him about 2 times a year along with my dermatologist (1-2 times a year), rather than seeing 5 or 6 doctors every 2 months which is what I did before I came to Colorado. BTW I am 70 years old and the Boulder Medical Center now participates in Medicare which has eliminated billing confusion.
