I was diagnosed with a rare disease and also Diabetes Type II, and I was terrified. Dr. De Souza took me under his wing and explained all the implications of both diagnoses. He gave me treatment options and walked me through the hardest couple of months of my life. Thank you for the life-saving treatment, Dr. De Souza!

He prescribed an affordable course of treatment (I had no insurance) and I followed his advice. My A1C went from 9.5 when I first saw him to 6.3 three months later. He continues to treat me. He diagnosed a parathyroid problem and referred me to a surgeon who also was excellent. Dr. DeSouza is an extraordinary physician.

Dr. de Souza is very knowledgeable. My condition was somewhat rare but he was quite familiar with it and how to treat it successfully. He is prompt and to the point. He has a wonderful sense of humor that puts you at ease. I actually look forward to my appointments with him.

Dr de Souza has been treating me for a rare growth hormone disorder for many years. My disorder was misdiagnosed for years and consequently, treatment was not effective. Upon a referral from my general physician, Dr de Souza immediately suspected a pituitary gland tumor, resulting in a growth hormone malfunction. After the correct diagnosis and surgery, the tumor was removed. Dr de Souza has monitored my growth hormone levels with continuous follow up visits and proper medications. As a result, Dr de Souza has reduced my growth hormone levels to normal. This disorder, if not treated correctly, usually results in a premature death. Dr de Souza literally save my life and also improved my quality of life. Dr de Souza diagnosed and treated a rare disorder that other highly qualified physicians missed. Dr. de Sousa is a bit quirky, but skilled and thorough nonetheless. It took a few visits to figure each other out, but after that he has done a great job of helping me to keep my focus on a disease that never fails to take advantage of my mistakes. I have had many visits with Dr. DeSouza. He seems nice at first, but don’t ask him to explain any symptoms that don’t have lab values supporting your symptoms—he will suggest you are crazy. It’s more than a cultural difference. And definitely never ask questions about treatments he hasn’t suggested. Apparently that means you are overthinking. Asking to see someone else in the practice won’t help either-they will discharge you and the entire staff will start treating you like you’re crazy. They will insist you find another endocrinologist (the closest offices are two or four hours away). If you like being belittled during your visits, Dr. DeSouza is for you!
