Dr. Vapnek is one of a smaller and smaller minority of doctors who actually think through and independently analyze your situation. He is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable, yet maintains a wonderful sense of humor and engaging personality. It is no wonder he is regarded as one of NYC's top urologists. Highly recommended!

Very bad experience. His examination of my prostate was the most painful I've ever had of any physician. He makes you stand up and bend over even though it's much more comfortable to lie down with knees bent.....and his technique is rough w/o enough lubrication. At my exam, I asked him why he doesn't use a more comfortable position and why his exam insertion was so painful....he completely lost his cool, yelling at me, telling me that I had told him he doesn't know what he is doing. He was incapable to taking any critical feedback whatsoever and essentially threw me out of his office. So unprofessional. He even took a Post-It out of my hand and ripped it up. Just like a big baby. His ego is monumental and there are much nicer people out there to see who have a better exam technique. Very bad experience. Understanding, thorough, knows his stuff, excellent bedside manner, was especially helpful when I had a a bladder retention emergency that filled my bladder with a liter of urine. Also helpful in medication management for my prostate that reduced my PSA significantly.. Booking appointments easy and very little wait time in the waiting room. Most recently I contacted him during his vacation in Hawaii and, despite the 6 hour time difference, he responded within an hour. Staff pleasant, efficient. Dr. Vapnek is superb. Dedicated. Thorough. Expert. Good humored and efficient. His office staff can sometimes seem impatient. They may be overworked. But he will take care of a patient's urological issues with great conscientiousness. I've been seeing him for 10 years and would be deeply regretful if he chose to retire.

10 years ago I went to see him to have surgery on my bladder ... there’s not one day that goes by that I don’t regret that decision... not only did he completely mess up my bladder , he made it where no other doctor will even touch it cause of fear of his work ... first went Into surgery and when I came out I was in such horrific pain and then to find out that I would have to go under emergency surgery cause I was ripped on the inside and had extensive internal bleeding ... Since the operation I have a huge scar since he screwed me up and then was told after it was over and I was WORSE then when I started that there was only a 10 percent success rate ... a 10 percent success and no one told me before.... I only found out because a student slipped and he then had to tell me and all he said was sorry like it wasn’t a life changing 10 PERCENT! I should have known better when he walked into my room and called a patient a F Ing C&@t .... this doctor should have his license revoked and no one should EVER see him .. please learn from me and find a GOOD doctor not one that goes home and doesn’t have to live with his mistakes like I do every day!!!!!! Does not respect office hours. Excellent urologist who really listens to you which makes all the difference. He is always available to questions and concerns.

Dr. Vapnek is by far the best doctor I have ever seen, in any medical practice. He is caring, very smart and takes his time to really listen to what is going on. He gives his cell phone number out so you can reach him day or night, and the call back time is immediate. I can't say enough!! Lori H.

My wife and i are living a normal life again after being treated by Dr. Vapnek. He correctly identified and treated my wife's incontinence. Her bladder is properly functioning again after several years of seeing other urologists. no more UTI's! Thanks, doc. To the other reviewers about him administering unnecessary tests, do you wanted him to just give you drugs without finding the cause of your illness? Maybe you should change your health plan, not your doctor.

This doctor just want you money! He performs several unneeded exams on patients just to get your money. No wonder his waiting room is always empty when I go there.
