Dr. Jonathan Mark Rippentrop

Excellent surgeon with very good personality. Explained everything in detailed terms that I could understand. My surgery was uncomplicated and I recovered very quickly.

Wish I could give a minus one star. I thought because he had positive ratings on Healthgrades that he would be a good doctor. I was wrong. My health was compromised because of an error by him. To me, he seemed arrogant and did a poor job explaining and providing important information. So sorry I went to him.

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in 2009 and had Radical prostatectomy surgery, August 31. 2009. I can't say enough GOOD THINGS about Dr. Rippentrop. Here it is July 2020 and I am still so, very grateful that the late Dr. Michael Welton referred me to Dr. Rippentrop to do my surgery. And since my surgery, I have told anyone who asked me, about my surgery, that Dr Rippentrop is the #1choice. Every yearly checkup since my surgery has been excellent! PSA numbers are very very (cancer free) low. Dr. Paul Richardson is my Urologist here in Waterloo. Dr. Richardson's Bedside Manner is identical to Dr. Rippentrop's Bedside Manner. Ne Plus Ultra! I am so very grateful to have had such Five Star medical care and attention. Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough. So I'll just say it one more time. After several weeks of testing and consulting at MAYO CLINIC at Rochester, Mn., result was a Liver Transplant. All said and done my assigned Doctor told me that it was Dr Rippentrops cancer discovery that saved my life.

Excellent knowledge, excellent patient interaction

Very personable. Great concern on how everything is going. Answers on my questions. 9 years since surgery. See him once a year. Is very experienced in robotic surgery. Completely satisfied with his care. Great doctor!!

I have had 2 prostate operations 10 years apart performed by Dr. Rippentrop and both went very smooth, his knowledge, manner and intrest in each and every patient is well above the norm for specialized medicine. I would not even think of another Urology Specialist for treatment.

I highly recommend Dr. Rippentrop. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and I decided to have the surgery to remove the prostrate. Dr Rippentrop first explained the many other options (instead of the surgery) but when I decided the surgery was the best option for me, he talked my wife and I through the process and answered all our questions. He has a great bedside manner and has performed this surgery many times. So if you want a doctor who is very experienced, takes time to explain things to you in great deal, has a great bedside manner, and is an excellent communicator, Dr. Rippentrop is the right choice!!!! The absolute best!!! I was diagnosed with a kidney tumor by my GP. He saw me within the hour and set me at complete ease by his manner, obvious level of knowledge and compassion. Any visit I had prior to surgery, I left his office being completely confident in him as well. My surgery was a success and he saw me minutes prior to surgery and in his phenomenal manner, I left for the operating room without anxiety. He is personable, not arrogant or aloof. He deserves an Oscar!
