Went for screening colonoscopy for transplant in 2016. Was td a polyp was removed if benign wont need a repeat for 10vyrs if not then will let me know what to do. Never saw report until it was posted to my chart well after like 11 months. No discussion from Dr. Dort. Now transplant coordinator says polyp was precancerous. Wondering i wasn't told for 5 years and now Inova is saying I need another colonoscopy for transplant. I gave lost trust

Over four years ago, Dr. Dort performed inguinal hernia repair surgery for me. The experience, from the initial meeting when I was in severe discomfort and he arranged or pulled strings to have the surgery done ahead if what had originally been scheduled, could not have been better. My PCP in Boston was very impressed with the result. When lingering tightness brought me again to Dr. Dort, he explained fully the pertinent issues, recommended against further treatment. And he was right. Additionally he has a great sense of humor and, rare among surgeons in my experience, really cares about his patients. I recommend him with the greatest possible enthusiasm. Four years ago, I came to Dr. Dort with an inguinal hernia which, although it was not "strangulated", was causing me a huge amount of pain. Somehow or another, he managed to cut through a lot of hospital red tape to schedule me three days later. He and the entire team were just terrific. I cannot say enough about them. Dr. Dort is a surgeon who actually cares for his patients and has a great sense of humor besides. I don't wish an inguinal hernia (or worse) on anyone, but if you need to see a surgeon look no further than Jonathan Dort!

I saw Dr. Dort early 2020. I was schedule for an inguinal hernia operation prior Covid 19 but was cancelled. The surgery got rescheduled earlyJune. Dr. Dort and the entire team at Inova Fairfax were exceptional. I felt extremely safe. Inova Fairfax really goes out of their way with safety measures. Dr. Dort is exceptional from the first visit until the after surgery check-up. It is now 45 days after the surgery and the scar has virtually disappear. Only 3 light pink spots left. I assume they will disappear with time. Regarding the hernia, after following the 4 weeks rule of no heavy lifting or exercise, I do not have anymore pains nor bulging. Dr. Dort is extremely sympathetic and attentive. He gave me several scenarios to choose about how to take care of my problem. After reading on line how to take care of inguinal hernias and his personal recommandations I felt very confortable to have Dr. Dort operating on me. Thank you

I was referred to Dr. Dort by my PCP for a possible abscess. Dr. Dort fit me into his schedule and even accommodated me when I thought my appointment was 3 hours prior to when it was actually scheduled. He is so kind and gentle. He ended up having to make a small incision to drain the abscess. He explained everything he was doing as he was doing it. He was so patient with me and answered all of my millions of questions. The staff are also extremely friendly and patient. The issue I'm having is stressing me out and I'm sure I was a jerkface to them a couple of times. They were still so friendly and accommodating. (I did apologize for being a jerkface). I highly recommend Dr. Dort and INOVA Medical Group - General Surgery in Falls Church. I was referred to Dr. Dort by my PCP for a possible abscess.
