Dr. John R Wilson

Had my first seizure episode and was referred to Dr. Wilson by an ER physician. Dr. Wilson was contacted about my situation and ordered 'tell the scheduler that you are an ER follow-up for new seizure and you need to be seen this week per his orders' I called the office and Eva at the Melrose Park location was having trouble accepting these orders. I told her the situation and repeated Dr. Wilson's orders. Was told the next opening was in 3 months. A few calls later I was able to get an appointment in the next 3 days. Extremely unprofessional and rude. I was hung up on, called back and told "you were upset, so I ended the call.” I never got to see Dr. Wilson. I am not doubting his expertise, however staffing should be brought to his attention.

The receptionist incredibly rude and she sounds like she hates her job,people around her and the world. Dr Wilson is always 1hr behind schedule and when you see him he acts like hi does not know you and you been going to him for years.... so go elsewhere

Dr. Wilson is a fine doctor. However my concern is with the staff. One person in particular. Upon my visit there an employee which I found out to be named Eva was very belligerent and belittling to a patient. Her attitude carried over to other staff there. I honestly felt bad for everyone there in her presence. A doctors office is no place for this. Patients don’t deserve this. I hope that someone can pull her aside and straighten her out. The receptionist, Irma is incredibly rude. Dr. Wilson is always at least an hour behind. Go elsewhere.

Dr is very nice person but I have never waited less than 1 hour beyonnd my appt time to be seen. Tonight I was seen after 7 for a 530appt If hes that busy hire another doctor or stop taking new patients. Oh and the lady behind counter must be one the unhappiest, miserable people ever. Dont think she has smile muscles in her face. Her attitude like she hates her job and must hate the entire world. I HATE going there but it's where my.HMO sends me. Gave a diagnosis without prescribing spinal MRIs which would have revealed the real problem. He recommended physical therapy which didn’t help and my condition worsened over the next 2+ years until I found a capable neurosurgeon.

His lobby wait time may seem long, but you will understand why once it is your turn. He politely and professionally takes his time with his patients (I can only speak for me), to comprehensively address and treat my medical issue which I appreciate.

Compassionate, intelligent, always willing to listen, Dr. Wilson has been my Dr. for 15 years. I would go to no other neurologist than him. I can't say enough good things about him.

There are not enough kind words to say about Dr. Wilson. I have been his patient for the last 3 years as I have struggled with debilitating atypical facial nerve pain. Dr. Wilson is kind, genuine, and extremely intelligent. He has no ego - he makes me feel very comfortable and like I am his top priority, though I know he sees MANY other patients. I feel he is genuinely concerned for me and my well-being, and I would recommend him to anyone searching for a neurologist. He is truly a gem! There are not enough kind words to say about Dr. Wilson. I have been a patient of Dr. Wilson's for the past 3 years. I came to him in desperation as I was experiencing unrelenting facial pain that no previous doctors could seem to diagnose or make sense of. Yes, you will likely wait a long time in his waiting room - well past your scheduled appointment time. Trust me when I say, he is well worth the wait. He is the most genuine, concerned, and sincere doctor I have ever encountered. He gave me hope when I felt there was none left. Outstanding!

Come prepared with something to do. I've never waited less than an hour. Last time was a two hour wait to spend ten minutes with the Doctor.
