Wonderful neurologist caring always listened. the best. he was supposed to open up another practice and contact his patients that was in mid/late 2022. I keep hoping he'll call. I keep searching. I had to go to another neurologist and start all over again. I'm not happy about it. New guy is not Dr Wilson . I want Dr Wilson!

Dr. Wilson is a wonderful person and doctor as well! He makes you feel at ease with his soft spoken personality and approach and soon you feel like a member of his family! I was frustrated when he left Physicians Regional as I had an appointment with him dated after his change! I call and ask where I can find him after his leave and got no answer from the hospital whatsoever! But, I heard that perhaps he is affiliated with NCH and will make sure if he is! Thank you Dr. Williams for your being there for me when I needed you and good luck in your new endeavor!!!!!

I have been a patient or Dr Wilson for over 15 years. I began seeing him when he was with NASA. I refused to switch to another dr when he left them and had to physically get my records fro the NASA group and take them across the hall at PRMC bcuz they wouldn’t release them to his office. He is the best dr in the world and I am desperate to find him now. I received one of those letters, but my husband who was also a patient of his did not. I have been on medications for my severe arthritis, migraines and other problems. The letter I received from PRMC said that my care would be transferred to another dr there but specifically stated that “he would not prescribe my medications”. I had an appt to see dr Wilson yesterday to renew all my meds. The new dr cannot see me until November. What am I supposed to do now?? I called every day to try and get in with Dr Wilson before he left to try and set up continued care, but of course he never had cancellations (per the person answering the phone). I am not blaming Dr Wilson for this at all!! I’m blaming the hospital group. If anyone knows anything please let me know via email. kelly32463@comcast.net.

I also have been a patient of Dr Wilson since his NASA days. When he left them the office wouldn’t transfer my medical records to him. I had to physically pick them up and carry them to his office. He is the most amazing dr I’ve ever seen. When I received the letter from PRMC stating that he was leaving I called almost every day to try and get an appointment before he left. Of course nothing was available. My husband and I both saw him and don’t want to have to go through finding another dr. If anyone has information on his plans please keep me informed.

I, also, will follow Dr. Wilson, who I’ve seen for years, so please keep us posted. He is an amazing doctor, who is smart, listens, really cares.

Dr Wilson will be opening his own practice he hoping sometime in June 2022. I am a patient of his and will be following him I also work for the company he left and we had talked about what he planned on doing after leaving. He was already looking in to opening his own practice but knew it would take a few months to do so. Ill keep this page updated if I hear anything.

He did not leave his patients without saying a word that is not accurate. The hospital sent all of his patients a letter without discussing with Dr. Wilson prior to sending. I have been a patient of Dr.Wilson for several years and find him to be professional, courteous and most of all he really listens.

I have known John Wilson MD since we were at USF. Great guy, but this is what the hospitals do when the physicians cut ties. They block you're ability to find them as long as possible to try and retain their patients, hoping they can get you to follow up with their replacement.

He just left his practice without a word to his patients! Very unprofessional!

Dr Wilson has been my Neurologist for nearly 20 years and I hold him in the highest regard. He’s extremely knowledgeable and professional while having an excellent bedside manor. When my father suffered a severe stroke I was very grateful for Dr. Wilson taking him on as a patient, I believe he was an integral part of my dad’s recovery.

My wife suffers from Parkinsons and is experiencing seizures. Dr. Wilson ordered a CT scan and urinalysis for a possible UTI. We liked Dr. Wilson and the time he took with us. My wife went immediately to provide a urine sample at a lab. Results should have been reported in a few days. Didn't hear from the office the following week. After repeated calls and leaving messages with the nurse there was only a call from her saying that they hadn't received results from the lab. After visiting the lab, they verified that the results had been sent to Dr. Wilson's office several days earlier and they would resend them. In the meantime my wife went to Urgent Care and we had the urinalysis results three days later. Same story with the results of my wife's CT scan. Fortunately those results were sent to our PCP and we heard from her office three days following the scan. 3 weeks and no word from Dr. Wilsons office. Disappointed in HG's rating. We now have a different neurologist.

Dr Wilson was a very good listener explanation of medication thoroughly. I had another doctor for twelve years he retired therefore I made an appointment with Dr. Wilson and am really pleased.

Been a patient of his for 13 years. Recently lost my Heath insurance benefits. Just had emergency gallbladder surgery. Called office to get my seizure prescriptions refilled ( medicine I need to take for the rest of my life) and was told since I moved and couldn’t come in he wouldn’t renew my prescription!! WHAT A GUY!

Dr. Wilson was very patient and thorough. He explained my problem, and showed me the MRI results. I never felt rushed. He suggested a non- invasive solution.

Dr. Wilson is kind and attentive. Took time with us to discuss some cognitive issues and made a few changes to medications. It was a productive appointment and wasn’t rushed! Receptionist who checked us in was very helpful and really nice too, so was the nurse!

I usually do not like seeing Doctors in a hospital setting. I know this has only been one visit, but so far I was pleasantly surprised. The wait time to be called was VERY short, no paperwork, (it had already transferred from my doctors office....wow!), the wait time the for the dr to come in was also very short. Even though I know he was on a time schedule, I felt that he was not rushing me. I felt like my questions got answered and issues were addressed. So far, all the Doctors that Dr. Costello has referred me to have been willing to listen as well as truly a professional in their field. Dr. Wilson is no exception!

I always feel that Dr Wilson give me his full attention during our appt. He backs his his recommendation with examples and explains fully any concerns or recommendations he has concerning my health. I feel confident in his diagnosis.

I have been seeing Dr Wilson for over two and a half years. I am an addict in recovery. I have had infections in my spine, infections in my arm, infection swelling of my knee, I have seizures, I have chronic pain, along with a long list of issues and ailments. Dr Wilson has never pushed medication on me, he has never overmedicated me, he has always taken the time during our visits to check in with me on my mental, emotional, and physical health along with my recovery process. He has never talked down to me or degraded me unlike other addiction specialists. Dr Wilson has treated me as a primary care doctor, as an addiction specialist, and as a neurologist. I would recommend Dr Wilson 100% for anyone who is serious about wanting to get help not only with addiction but pain management with non-ercotic medication. When I was first told that non narcotic medication could help me being an addict I didn't want to believe it but giving him a chance was the best thing I could have ever done.

Dr. Wilson stands well above most physicians in my eyes. Perhaps that is why he is in such demand. When you are in the exam or treatment room he is 100% focused on you. He looks you in the eye while you are speaking with him, actively listening to fully understand your issue. He invests the time to explain his diagnosis and suggested treatment in technical terms and then breaks it down in lay terms patiently and thoroughly answering all of your questions. Dr. Wilson is a physician that I trust, respect and admire.

I've been with Dr. Wilson since 2016. He treated me while I was an in-patient in 2016 after having a TIA. Has been my Neurologist since! He listens to all of your issues and treats you accordingly. This appointment was a follow-up that was scheduled for March, but due to the pandemic I had to wait. He is compassionate in his field! Anytime I need paperwork filled out, refills, etc. Dr. Wilson always takes care of it! One of the best doctors' that I have had since my accident 21 yrs ago! I highly recommend Dr. John Wilson!!
