My grandson sees him and I take him to some of his appointments. He is a very good Dr and will take time to explain everything and answer all questions. I highly recommend.

He is very nice and does a good job of helping children. I would totally recommend him.

My family moved here a couple years ago and have since been looking for that "text book amazing pediatrician" and also a family doctor. There's SO MANY rude receptionists and doctors in fort smith that just don't care!! However, calling this facility was a breath of fresh air. I've never been treated so kindly by a receptionist since we moved here. Unfortunately, they dont accept champ VA insurance at this time so my children can't go here but I felt the urge to leave this review due to the amazing customer service and helpful employee. If they accept my insurance in the future, this will be our new pediatrician, I've heard rave reviews from neighbors, friends and an urgent care doctor recommended him as well. I've used Dr. Whitaker since 1998. Kind and professional staff. Most importantly, we've never waited long (typically 10 minutes) for our appointment which means A LOT to me.

My children have been patients under Dr. Whitaker's care for nearly 14 years now. We've always been happy with his professionalism and the kindness of his staff. But today, my daughter was sick, and when I called to get her in for an appointment, I was told they refuse to care for her due to "the treatment of the receptionist" in the office. Apparently, it was told to the office manager that I had made a call and been very belligerent, hostile, and even used "vulgar swear words". Because of this, she told me I would need to take my daughter to Pro Med. The only call I've made to them recently was to inquire about whether I needed to get my son's vaccinations at the Health Department, or if the could do them there in his office, and how much they would cost. But there was no angry conversation, no raised voices, no heated debates, and certainly no swearing (I don't even "cuss out" my husband during a fight, and I've never raised my voice at someone on the phone). The receptionist and nurse were both informative and helpful. There was no cause for anger from either side. I was shocked by the price of the shots, but explained that of course I know that's not their fault. I had just assumed they were comparable to tell cost of a flu shot. She explained they have to charge what they have to pay themselves, and I told her I completely understood, no problem, and I'd go ahead and take them to the Health Department. The call ended without any drama or issues. I tried explaining this to the office manager, and told her that I was speechless - I'm very quiet and mild in my behavior. And I don't swear. I suggested maybe a misunderstanding was had and filed under the wrong child's account. She stated that there was no mistake. The call in question had been made from my office, in front of others, and I asked them if they remember me angry or swearing. Both people were confused by this accusation. One remembered being just as shocked as I was by the $400 quote on the shots, but both agree that I in no way seemed even mildly irritated at the receptionist or the nurse. That it was an uneventful conversation. Teresa, the office manager, said that she received a page and a half of notes about the call, but according to my phone logs, the call only lasted 1 min and 12 seconds. As to the how's or why's, I'm completely confused. Either there has been a very big mistake, or someone has greatly embellished things for some unknown reason that doesn't make sense. My husband is, and I quote, "flabbergasted". In 14 years, I've not had a single issue with this office or any other, for that matter. And I'm sad that my children feel rejected by the doctor they enjoy due to what I can only assume is a mistake. I only felt the need to share this story in case it might help others, or in case someone else has had a similar situation. Thank you. We decided to use Dr. Whitaker after he saved my niece's life at 2 weeks old. He has been very attentive. He answers all of my ridiculous first-time-mom questions. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

I absolutely adore Dr. Whitaker and his staff. We moved and continued to drive in from Little Rock and Fayetteville just to see him. My girls love going to see him because he is so kind and gentle. You know he and his staff care about the well being of my children. I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a new Ped.

Wonderful pediatrician, kid friendly office.

He is so compassionate and caring. Very gentle with my baby. He gives you time to ask questions and discuss concerns.

Dr. Whitaker is the pediatrician to all three of my boys. We've been seeing him since they were born (15 years!). He's a great pediatrician. Always kind and respectful. He always makes sure he's answered all my questions before I leave. He's great and his office is amazing! The kids love it!
