I have been a patient of Dr. Soper's since 2016. He has always been very friendly and caring. He is genuinely concerned and will spend time explaining your diagnosis and best treatments available. I have always had good experiences with him and his staff. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Soper is very compassionate and kind. He is also very knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the procedure and the associated risks. My surgery went well and my incisions are barely noticeable.

Please read from the sites listed below before you allow anyone to remove any of your female organs. I was referred to UNC Health care by a Gyn provider in my small town during the summer of 2019. Although Dr Soper stated he did not think my growths were cancerous; he did however recommend a total hysterectomy and the removal of my ovaries and fallopian tubes. I was mid sixties at the time. The Gyn doctor in my town had strongly led me to believe that I probably did have cancer. I asked Dr. Soper if less could be removed and was told that they would not do that there. I was encouraged to allow them to insert mesh afterwards and to take tissue samples and remove any areas with-in my abdominal cavity that might look suspicious. I asked if that might leave some organs damaged or if I might end up needing a stoma and external bag afterwards and was told they could not say what might happen. I told them no they could not insert mesh or take any samples or make any cuts other than those needed to remove the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes and the growth that was by my uterus. I did not have any cancer found. It is now three months since the surgery. I am having many issues. I have followed recommended recovery procedures closely. I have found that most women do have problems and the medical community does not talk about it or print reports of it for the public to read. PLEASE READ FROM THE SITES LISTED BELOW BEFORE YOU ALLOW ANYONE TO REMOVE ANY OF YOUR FEMALE ORGANS! https://www.hystersisters.com http://www.hormonesmatter.com/hysterectomy-womens-healthcare-con/ UNC Health care is a teaching facility and they, and many other women’s clinics, generate a lot of income with these surgeries and UNC supplies their medical students with the required experience to obtain their licenses by performing hysterectomies and removal of ovaries. It needs to be asked just how many of these surgeries are truly those needed by the patients and not just by the hospital and the school! Please read those sites listed above. You will not find many sites or hear from almost any doctors just how harmful these procedures are to women. You shorten your life and the quality of it by having your ovaries and uterus removed. Please do not proceed with a hysterectomy or salpingo-oophorectomy unless you know those organs are cancerous! There is a higher incidence of patients developing significant problems from abdominal adhesions following robotic surgery and Dr. Soper will recommend robotic surgery also. There is no real solution to abdominal adhesions once they develop and they will be part of your slew of health issues following your surgery. During the last ten years or so, I had been using family practice clinics for most of my medical care and HAD been in reasonably good health and HAD been an active person, especially for my age. I did have yearly exams and blood work and the preventive female organ disease testing. An Ob-Gyn doctor who had left my town some years before had told me that many of these surgeries were unnecessary. I remembered that after the surgery. Dr. Soper seemed to be knowledgable and also may be just great for those who truly do have cancer in their uterus or ovaries. I can only hope that he is so far removed from the lives of his patients that he is unaware of just how harmful these surgeries are and that they should not be performed unless they are the only way to extend a woman’s life! Dr. Soper saved my life when I had stage 3C cervical cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes . He is always professional, courteous, answers questions and doesn't make me feel rushed. When cancer becomes a huge part of your life, you need someone you can trust who is the best of the best, and that is Dr. Soper. He was an excellent surgeon and he helped me get through chemotherapy and radiation. He was my cheerleader. And he didn't talk down to me. He is face to face and honest when he talks with a patient and he made me feel like we were a team working to beat my cancer. I recommend him without hesitation to any woman who wants to best treatment and a doctor she can trust completely.
