I’ve had many (18) previous surgeries on my foot with a different physician. This time it turned into a middle toe amputation (which probably should’ve been done years ago). First time in 20+years I’m walking without pain. Thank you Dr Shank!!

It's such a comfort to have both Dr. Shank and Miyoko treat any issue you have related to your foot. I'm always impressed with the time they take to listen to you and thoroughly assess your condition. They have the expertise and concern for you to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for your recovery. I have complete confidence and trust in them.

I met Dr. Shank yesterday at my first appointment. He and his team of medical professionals were all so kind which immediately put me at ease as soon as I arrived. The office is beautiful, welcoming and warm with amazing views of the snow covered mountains. I chose Dr. Shank because he is among the top ankle surgeons in Colorado. His education&experience are extremely vast&impressive.He is a true leader&innovator in his field. I have a lifetime of experience with surgeons.After having a failed 20hr reconstructive surgery, I've learned the importance of seeking out the most competent &experienced physicians. Dr. Shank not only meets this criteria but is also very approachable&informative. I was very anxious going into my appointment but completely at ease when I left his office. I know I am in good hands, and I'm confident that my surgery will be a success with the best possible outcome.

Dr. Shank and Mioko Green and the rest of their team are highly skilled and very caring. They went the extra miles for me when I had complications to the surgery. At every point I felt cared for and that I was getting the best skilled care possible.

Excellent care provided by Dr. Shank’s and his team in helping multiple metatarsal fractures to heal in my left foot.

After breaking my foot on a Friday, Dr. Shank was able to get me in the next week for an emergency surgery. He explained everything that he was going to do, gave excellent after care instructions and has followed up with me for the past year. Anyone complaining about wait times for appointments, just know he is taking emergency surgeries all of the time and please have patience. Without those emergency surgeries he performs, I would have never had the great care I've received. Thank you for fixing my foot and providing critical advice for my future. *Follow up: I successfully had the plate in my foot removed and am so happy with the personal care I received from Dr. Shank and PA Green. They personalize your get well plan and take the time to answer questions. I'm done with my appointments but will miss seeing them both. I can't recommend them both enough! Dr. Shank fixed my broken ankle. He is personable & caring. His staff and facilities are top notch. While I wish I hadn’t had my accident I am very glad of the referral from my neighbor to Dr. Shank.

I have never had the awesome treatment that I have with Colorado Center of Orthopedics. This place I would recommend to everyone for foot care. The treatment is well worth it.

Dr. Shank has performed 8 surgical procedures on my feet between December, 2013 (right after I turned 65) and May, 2022. Over the years Dr. Shank's professional abilities and friendly manner have earned my total confidence. I know with him and his team (most especially his PA Miyoko), I will receive greatest care possible. I had an injury to my left left foot Lisfranc joints that resulted in great pain and arthritis. Ultimately that problem was fixed with surgical staples. In addition to several pesky hammer toes, the primary joints in both of my big toes were arthritic and each had to be fused for pain control. As I write this review, I am just over two weeks out from my most recent and final foot surgery and I am most grateful to Dr. Shank and Miyoko for their ongoing efforts to keep me up and on my feet! Dr. Shank is the BEST!

There is no one else that I would recommend if you need any ankle work! After falling on ice back in January, I badly fractured my ankle in three places and Dr. Shank performed reparative surgery just a few days later. Great facility and Dr Shank was awesome. Took the time to show me my x-rays and discuss a treatment plan as well as a follow up plan. Couldn’t ask for more. Very satisfied.

All other Surgeons said that I would have permanent disability. Dr. Shank never even brought that possibility up. I’m 2 weeks out of my last surgery, and I feel amazing. My healing is going great and I am confident I will return to pushing the limits of life within the year. Thank you Dr. Shank and CCOE!

Dr. Shank and his staff have been wonderful. After meeting the doctor and discussing my options I felt very comfortable moving forward. You wouldn't think that breaking two bones in your foot would ever be a good experience, but in my case Dr. Shank and the staff at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado made a difficult time much better than I could have expected. Initial care, surgery and follow up were outstanding.

The front desk staff is excellent at check-ins, follow-up scheduling, and immediately puts you at ease. From the nurse to the radiologist, there was a high-quality of care. Yet genuinely care about you as an individual. Dr. Shank was thorough in my foot examination, while providing a detailed explanation of my condition. He listened compassionately to my concerns and offered sensible options, rather than extreme measures that might not be necessary.

It was good.

Dr. Shank is terrific. He is very good, but I also appreciate his honesty. He’s very clear about the recovery, from the pain level, to swelling. I appreciate knowing exactly what to expect.

I had a great experience seeing Dr. Shank and his PA Miyoko. They are both very smart but personable. I did not need surgery so I can't comment on that but I do feel like Dr. Shank is up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practice and does not push unnecessary surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shank and Miyoko.

At the end of August of 2021, I started having trouble with my right knee. Those troubles led to my knee and ankle dislocating at the end of September. This resulted in the tearing of my ACL, lateral and medial meniscus, some ligaments in my ankle and breaking my fibula. I had been referred to Dr Purcell for my knee and he referred me to Dr Shank for my ankle. The two of them teamed up and got my surgeries done in a matter of two months and had me walking more stabilized by the end of November just a few days after my last surgery! Dr Shank and team did a great job cutting through my tattoo and lining it up just perfectly during surgery! Thanks to these wonderful doctors I’m able to walk again!

I'm really happy with the entire experience of Dr Shank and his team putting my left heel back together. Scheduling the 1st visit and then the surgery in late December when every facility is busy the and every follow up visit, it has been efficient and pleasant. Dr Shank and his staff are terrific! My only concern is the long waits in the waiting area for follow up visits. I’ve waited 1.5 hours at times.

Dr. Shank and his team are excellent, from scheduling thru surgery follow up. I had great care for 5 fractures in 3 bones and when I broke some metatarsals years later, I didn’t hesitate to contact the office. They still all provide top notch care and attention to the patient and their needs. Dr. Shank and his team are exceptional.
