I would like to thank Dr. John Regan and his wife Deena. They went out of their way to help me with my back. I work as a fishing Guide and I ran into Dr. Regan at the lodge I work at. My back and my physical ability to row a boat and work the river means everything to me. Dr. Regan, while visiting the area, was more the happy to look at my back and told me that if it didn't get better to get in touch with him. I did and from that point on I have been impressed. Between Deena's time on the phone with the insurance company for hours to get the surgery approved to Dr. Regan setting up the surgery as quickly as possible and always answering any questions I had along the way,they really were fantastic. I live out of state and had to travel to California to have the L4, L5 fusion surgery done. They made that process as easy as I could have ever imagined. I can't thank the both of them enough for the kindness they showed. I'm at 6 weeks out of surgery and I feel great. The surgery went perfect and because of the timely manner in which it was done, I will be back on the water in time for my summer season. Dr Regan has attended to my wife for over 16 years, successfully operating on her 8 times. He was the only doctor to determine the cause of her back pain. Even the chief of back surgery at the Mayo clinic and a well known surgeon at the Texas Back Institute could not identify the problem Without Dr. Regan, my wife probably would not be able to walk, and be pain free. Besides a very competent surgeon he has always been available in every way when I was unsure if it is an emergency or not. Since my surgery in 2016 he is the man I thank every time I hit a run of moguls in Mammoth.

I came to Dr. Regan with a massive amount of pain and discomfort. He and his staff were amazingly attentive and comforting. He was able to get rid of my pain, and give me my life back. Anyone who is suffering would be best served by calling Dr. Regan.

Dr. Regan did a laminectomy at three levels in my neck in 2011. He completely resolved my issues. Everyone else wanted to fuse my neck. He did predict that in about 10 years I would probably need another surgery. He said technology will be better then so there would be more options. He was right! Feb 2021 I had an MRI and I do in-fact need surgery again. Again everyone else wants to fuse my neck. Dr. Regan is now going to do a disk replacement at 2 levels. I live in Portland Or. and I will be going to him in Ca. To have the surgery as he is the only one I trust!

Words are not enough. Dr Regan has my unending gratitude. Our oldest son would be a paraplegic at the age of 31 if not for him. He and his team were able to respond quickly to our sons needs when a bulged disc intruded into his spinal column. Due to the quick response time and his expertise our son is able to walk. I believe if we had gone to or been anywhere else my son would not have the use of his body/limbs from pelvic down. God had a hand in this and sent us Dr Regan. When we arrived we were treated like family. The office staff was caring and very friendly. Dr. Regan spent time with us, answering all of our questions, and told me I did not need surgery! My primary care doctor told me I did due to a herniated disc, I was reassured physical therapy would help. Twelve years ago, Dr. Regan performed surgery on my thoracic spine after I spent over two years in excruciating pain. I have the highest regard for Dr Regan! I met him 5 years ago for a serious problem & traveled from Nevada for his advice. He treated me, the patient & what I was able to do, rather than rely on the results of tests & I was able to avoid surgery. This time I needed surgery to replace a disc in my neck. Dr. Regan performed this surgery on Wed. All went well & he came to the hospital to see me on Thanksgiving Day. I was discharged & he made sure I had a contact number to reach him in case I had any problems. I experienced difficulties getting my prescription filled, called him & he rectified it—interrupting his holiday celebrations. Dr. Regan and his staff are phenomenal! Although I haven’t had my surgery yet, I’m confident that I’ll be in good hands. This will be my 6th surgery in the past 8 years and I have been extremely impressed with my level of care thus far. When a recent MRI indicated that I would need another surgery, I spent a lot of time researching who I’d like for my next surgeon (we recently moved from the East Coast). All research pointed to Dr. Regan as the best so I made an appointment. The doctor’s staff was able to get me in quickly and went above and beyond my expectations with communication. Dr. Regan himself spent quite a bit of time speaking with me explaining my options. He listened to my thoughts and was willing work with my preferences. Dr Regan did an unnecessary surgery and now I am in horrible pain.

This is a follow up to my previous review. The night of my surgery a screw came loose from the new bone holding the vertebrae. This caused me to topple over like an accordion. The next day another 5 hours were spent getting new bone While in the nursing home, I was in a great amount pain and no one would attend to me. I was just beside myself. I got up to find help and instead tripped over some furniture and fell hard and long on the nursing room floor and remained there for over 40 minutes before anyone came in. I was in so much pain NOT TO MENTION I was deeply afraid that these post surgical falls probably caused some damage. Dr Regan already told me this was a very serious surgery and to be uber careful not to fall. Weeks turned into 9 months I call in tears, in pain and fearful yet this surgeon is still dodging me. I wondered why. Now I know.

Dr Regan performed an extensive T4 to L5 spinal fusion back in 1997. He failed to put the curve in my husband's lower back and he has been severely disabled with flat back pain syndrome ever since. To Dr Regan's credit, it was one of the first surgeries of this type that he performed on my husband, he has had the benefit of many more years of experience since, now it is now less invasive. My husband is permanently disabled due to this surgery.

I am over-the-moon about having found Spine Group Bev Hills because I was extremely nervous to get any type of surgery done. When I was in college, I tore my ACL, got surgery, and the scar is still so unsightly. After that, I've been really nervous to consider operation. I was so happy that a friend referred me to Dr. Regan because he was extremely patient, caring, kind, and understanding about my concerns. He and I talked very specifically about his minimally invasive procedure that reduces the size of a surgical scar. He also told me that scarring will be reduced with a strict aftercare regimen he would provide for me if I got the surgery. Dr. Regan solved my back pain issue without surgery. He gave me a program to follow which had great results and did not in any way recommended surgery as a first choice. I took the time to do what he suggested and it changed my life. Thank you so much for givingt me my life back.

I had the best experience with Dr. Regan and his warm staff. Nicole and Deena are both very kind and very efficient. I had a micro disc at L5 S1 at the surgery center and was out the very same day. Couldn't be happier.

Dr. Regan spent more time explaining my complex scoliosis condition with me than the last three surgeons that I have consulted with. One at Mayo Clinic , one at Cleveland, and the last one at Cedars. He really took the time to explain the origin of my pathology, the corrective procedure, and the recovery process. His support staff was incredible! I felt supported 100 percent of the way. My minimally decompressive surgery was unsuccessful. I was in extreme pain in my recovery after the surgeon caused a dural tear in my lumbar spine. My post operative spine care included no real followup from Dr. Regan and his medical staff after receiving my back brace ten days after surgery. I had a poor experience with Dr. Regan. Dr John Regan gave me my life back 16 years ago when he untwisted my sciatic nerve and fused my scoliotic spine to L5. I am forever grateful! He has incredible training, widespread experience, and is devoted to using his skills to help people. I would fly again to LA to have him do surgery.

I saw 3 spinal surgeons at Cedars for my herniated disc at L5-S1 in 2016. I chose Dr. Regan because he has written many text books on the subject and he also made me feel very confident that I would be back to my normal activities. I was provided with a comprehensive follow up program and he has been there every step on the way, and happily I am playing tennis again!

After my wife was in a car accident and being from out of the area I took my time to talk to other Orthopedic spine specialists and they all recommend Dr. Regan to review our case. He had ordered an MRI so that he could see the extent of the damage to my wife’s back. Dr. Regan’s masterful bedside manners and his skill as a surgeon helped my wife with a speedy recovery that has allowed her to live a normal life. In 2015, I had already had four (4) spinal surgeries, was 70 lbs overweight, and addicted to opioids. I was not easy to work with. Dr. Regan went in, removed a lot of bone from my back from the overgrowth at the fusion site (L5-S1), and performed a laminotomy at L4-5. Two years later, I have lost 55 lbs.,, gotten off all pain medications, play golf (well), and I am training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Dr. Regan is a phenomenal surgeon,-but the patient has to THEIR part. Remember that.

What's the point of an appointment if he's gonna have a meeting at that time. Hour into waiting and still nothing. Very professional

John Regan paralyzed and crippled my husband. On 4/7/17, Regan was to insert 2 manufactured discs into my husband's neck. Instead , my husband was rendered a quadriplegic. This surgeon also tried to extract a bribe from us. He was cild and uncaring. He is AWFUL, awful; THE WORST. Don't let him paralyze YOU.

Dr. John Regan in conjunction with Dr. George Cyril; have been with me throughout my long ordeal with degenerative disc disease (DDD!) Cervical and lumbar discs! They used Physical therapy and many alternatives to pain management and when all else failed surgery was only option! His [Dr Regan] incredible cervical disc repair was groundbreaking and to this day a success I'm back to 100% normal use of my neck! A committed effort by myself in conjunction with the team they assigned to me - in home therapy; as well as office personnel was extraordinary! In one emergency I was taken by uber to my destination: a big thanks to Dr Regan's uber account and Deena's direction! This was a rarity I'm sure... But it spoke volumes to me on their care, dedication; mostly their consideration for me in this uncomfortable situation! Bottom line nobody wants surgery I was so reluctant to even see a surgeon!
