Dr. Pollina and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They all know their specialty! Dr. Pollina, The PA’s Cheryl, Angie, Diana his nurse , schedulier, were so attentive and eased my fear of surgery. They were all on top of everything from day one. And so far the surgery was a success too. From the time I woke up after, I’ve had no more weakness in arms, numbness, excruciating pain… all of which was debilitating and interfering with my quality of life. Surgical discomfort is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the ten years of pain I endured. So very grateful to Dr. Pollina for giving me my life back.

I initially went to Dr. Pollina forlow back pain associated to golf. I never seen him. I saw a PA. I was advised to begin with PT which I did for 4 weeks with great results. I notified Dr. Pollina's office of my progress and let them know that if the pain returned I would notify them. Then I started getting calls and a letter threatening to drop me if I didn't respond and schedule an appointment. I returned the letter saying that I was fine and wouldn't need the PA any further. Now my PCP notifies me and sends me a copy of a letter sent to him from Dr. Pollina's office saying I'm dropped and no longer will be seen there. He did my neck surgery and I’m soooo happy!!! Years of headaches, neck pain, grinding and cracking is gone!!!!! It’s only been 2 weeks since my surgery and I feel great!!!! ????????♥️♥️

Dr Pollina's administrative assistant Diane L was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and kind while assisting me with scheduling my surgery and upcoming appointments and testing. Made me feel at ease that everything would be taken care of. Very nice !

Dr. Pollina is a great surgeon. I’ve had 3 successful surgeries with him. Highly recommend.

You first see the PA and go over details and symptoms. Dr Pollina comes in the exam room and reviews everything & makes his recommendations. His support staff is very kind

Dr. John Pollina is the most rude, arrogant dr. I've ever met. I will be filing a complaint on him after my appt. On Jan. 23, 2019. He was totally unprofessional. I've never been talked to like that by dr. In my life. I would not recommend him to anybody. Doctor was very professional and very thoughtful and kind.Very pleased with my surgery at this time.Still early for complete results.I would recommend making an appointment and discussing your options.He does not jump into surgery,unless he fells it is a necessity.He will also tell you if it will not help either.I have had many surgeries some good and some bad.None of them were that honest. My mom Eileen met Dr. Pollina today for her consult for extensive back surgery. Wow was she impressed! She left the office relieved, encouraged and full of confidence and peace. Dr. Pollina and his staff were not only very informative but also sweet, kind, caring and genuine. Thank you so much for the work you do. I've had to have both surgeries Dr. Pollina did re-done by another neurosurgeon. Dr. Pollina did not remove all of the damaged disc material and it was pressing on the nerve. It caused permanent nerve damage. I continually told him and his staff something was wrong. I was told, "That's the best you'll get." Do not let him do surgery on you period!

Dr. Pollina is the rudest, most arrogant doctor I ever had the displeasure of meeting. I filed a complaint with UB Neurosurgery against him. I notice my last scathing review of him was taken down.

Although he is a neurosurgeon, I found that Dr. Pollina is very conservative about recommending that a patient needs surgery. I appreciated that a great deal. I am very impressed with his professionalism.

Like many of the neurosurgeons in the Buffalo area, does not consider what the neurologist and neuroradiologists diagnose and recommend. Horrible medical exam in office. Couldn't even perform a proper patellar reflex!! Frightening to think he trains residents. AVOID unless you have a simple nerve root problem with radicular symptoms (eg sciatica). Terrible!!

Dr. Pollina is an arrogant doctor and should not be in practice.

I haven't been to Dr.Pollina office on Sheridan but I will be making a follow up appt from a dics replacement I had in February at Buffalo General hospital I gotta say Dr.Pollina gave me back my life I walked around in pain every day for over a year I'm recovering well I feel no pain in my back I find him to be kind his staff treated me well it was a very positive experience Dr.Pollina knows his skill I thank him and the staff at buffalo general so much for all they did for me thank you thank you 1and a million times he told me I'll be able to go home on the day of my surgery and I was in and out home to my dog yes I would recommend anyone that needs a dics replacement to know they are in good hands with Dr.Pollina he did a great job with my surgery I haven't been to Dr.Pollina office on Sheridan but I will be making a follow up appt from a dics replacement I had in February at Buffalo General hospital I gotta say Dr.Pollina gave me back my life I walked around in pain every day for … More

Dr. Pollina is simply the absolute best neurosurgeon around! This man is absolutely brilliant! His office staff is wonderful as well.

Terrible experience. Would not recommend him to anyone. Waited for an appointment for 3 weeks, went in 3 min. late. Gave all of my information to the receptionist. Waited...had another receptionist tell me he won't take me because I was late. Yes, I was 3 min. late, but had all of my paperwork filled in and was late due to the construction on Harlem and Sheridan. I would have been early. It was definitely out of my control. I waited for 3 weeks, came in completely prepared.

I found Dr. Pollina to be very kind and understanding. He answered my questions and explained every step of my care plan. However he did tell me that we would schedule a surgical consult but if I felt relief through spinal epidural injections to cancel my surgical consult and reschedule. After receiving 2 epidural injections I thought I was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately that relief did not last long and once I called the office to make a new surgical consult appt his very rude Clinical Secretary Mary P. said that do to my rescheduling I was no longer accepted as a patient. When I attempted to explain this to her she abruptly said she would not argue with me even though there was not any harsh tone or attitude within my voice. Again I tried to explain that I was doing as the Dr had told me she then said she did not care nor does it matter! I am now in agony and making every effort to find a new, well respected and regarded neurosurgeon. I have never missed an appt without a prior call and cannot believe this is how I am treated for doing as directed by the physician himself. We had agreed that jumping into surgery was not best as I am still quite young and should try every other option first, which I did. I am disgusted by the attitude and unnecessary way in which this "professional" secretary spoke to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Pollina but would hope he reevaluated his staff and their manner in which they treat patients. I found Dr. Pollina to be very kind and understanding. Dr. Pollina is a fantastic surgeon. He takes the time to explain everything in detail to you and is never bothered by any questions like most surgeons are.
