John D Polansky

Dr. Polansky has treated me for over 25 years. He's respected for his knowledge and performance with vision problems by other physicians. He's very likable and concerned about his patients.

I had had it with the Oregon Eye Center on 15th. I always felt like I was in a factory there, plus there were long waits, office staff that regularly mixed up our insurance, and then finally pulled the wrong records for my husband when he came in for his exam (our name is totally unusual, so there was no reason to be confused.) I asked a friend where she went, and she directed me to Dr. Polansky. I am SO GLAD I am now under his care. He spent five times longer with me than the previous doctors ever did, and was genuinely interested in getting to know me. I'd had a problem with tearing, and had just been told pro forma to use eye drops; but after Dr. Polansky listened to my complaints, he did a procedure to clean out my tear ducts and now I am MUCH better. He knows his stuff, and doesn't treat his patients like cattle.

I was denied care for not promising to not sleep in my contacts. I have been told by numerous other doctors that this was OK. I have been wearing these type of contacts for 20 years and never had a problem. I frequently take them out at night (but not every night) and told them this. The assistant lady scolded me and made me feel like I was a criminal for following the directions of previous eye doctors.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Polansky. He is patient, thorough and brilliant. We talked about the cost of drugs he prescribed and while he was in the exam room with me, he took the time to call the pharmacy to compare prices. Doctors Polansky and Gross are fantastic! Best eye care professionals I have ever experienced. From annual check-ups to cataract surgery, my experience has been nothing less than outstanding! I challenge anyone to find a better group of doctors and staff.

Our emergency visit with Dr Gross was outstanding. The office got us in same day for a serious issue. Dr Gross was thorough and explained everything very clearly. The office ran very smooth. I am so glad to have found such a great practice.

I have gone to Dr. Polansky for years. He is very thorough and professional. He doesn't "rush" you through an appt. His staff is also very good. . Meladie Kallien

Shortly after moving to the Willamette Valley, I discovered Opcon A eyedrops to soothe my allergies. After my eyes became addicted to them, my eyes were bloodshot and hurt without using them, year round. Dr. Polansky has been the only eye doctor to give me a "dry eye" test, and to provide me with medication to ween me off of Opcon A. My eyes feel great! Along with his wonderful technician Kathy, they have also been able to successfully get me back into wearing contacts after all of that. They spend the necessary time with you, and make sure you're well taken care of. Dr. Polansky even took the time to talk to my daughter about the time he met the band on her shirt - the Foo Fighters - on a plane. What a great group, very professional and caring. Thank you! Dr, Polansky saved my husband's life! He noticed hemorrhages in my husband's eye and immediately got him in for testing. He had a partially occluded carotid artery and surgery was done immediately to keep him from having a stroke. He is a GREAT doctor! Thank you, Dr Polansky!

My wife and I just went here for the first time for a complete eye checkup. It was fairly busy, and at first we were concerned we were going to be rushed through. Our experience was quite the opposite - the doctors and assistants were all very nice, patient, and thorough. Dr. Gross took the time to explain things to us, and made sure all our questions were answered. We'll definitely be coming back in the future for our eye checkups.
