I went to see Dr. Ortega on the advice of my doctor. I had never seen an ENT before. He was very helpful, friendly and reassuring. I’ll be coming back in June and bringing a new patient - my husband!!

I had a medicine issue and called the office on a Monday morning. As of Wednesday afternoon, and after several calls, I have not received a call back. The receptionists were not helpful at all and one was downright rude. I will be talking with the doctor about these issues.

I had an 8:30 appointment, I was put in the room at 8:40. The doctor did not come in until 9:15. During this time no one came back in. I know he sometimes slips people in if they call because he has done it for me, but this is a long time to wait. They expect you to be on time.

He answered my questions in very good for me to understand answers.

He was great had an answer to all my questions even ordered extra tests to be sure everything was good it's nice to have a doctor that goes to extra to make sure he doesn't miss anything

I really liked Dr Ortega. He’s kind, professional and knows what he is doing. Felt really comfortable going to him. I will never go to a nurse practitioner ever at this hospital

This was my first time coming in to see this dr. had an appt at 8:20 am, was in the office by 8:17 which was great, but stood in the office waiting till 8:58 ended up leaving the office w/out seeing him. nobody from his staff even had the courtesy to notify me if he was coming at all or if he was running late!!! the front desk people did not even care i left, they were just like "ok, whatever" attitude. It is NOT how you provide exceptional service!!!! even for the 1st time visit!!!!

I was very pleased with my visit to Dr. Ortega. He is certainly very knowledgeable.

After seeing 2 other doctors, scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ortega on portal for the following day. He proposed a tiered solution, in the event medication he prescribed did not work. Medication solved the issue and within 2 days saw improvement. The doctor and nurse were very nice. I’d highly recommend.

Two years ago, I had an emergency issue with an earache. Dr. Ortega was able to squeeze me in with very short notice, less than two hours. He acted quickly and decisively, and was able to recover most of the hearing in my ear. Recently, I had another earache that was not going away and scared me a bit. I schedule a visit with Dr. Ortega for two days later. He reviewed my symptoms and was able to reassure me that the ear looked good and that the remaining issue was in no way similar to the earlier issue. My hearing was stable at where it was after the previous recovery. His explanation was detailed to a level that allowed me to be confident that my hearing was not degrading further. This was a relief!

I was very happy with my treatment. I even called to ask questions the next day and talked to the same doctor who remembered me and answered all my questions. First rate!

Inattentive and dismissive. Didn't do a full exam of my nose and concluded that the issue was far less serious than it actually was when in actually it was found to be severe when another nose-and-throat doctor did a full exam with a scope. He was also extremely late and didn't apologize; he rushed through our appointment.

Dr. Ortega has always been kind, compassionate and caring with my family and I. He takes time to listen and we don't feel rushed. He is an exceptional doctor with experience! We highly recommend him!

When I 1st saw Dr Ortega years ago, he was very thorough but that has changed recently. He is going through the motions, I think! I still have not heard re: ultrasound results!! Almost 2 weeks. Will have to find a new ENT!

Dr. Ortega performed outpatient reconstructive surgery on my ear. I am grateful for his concern that the outcome be as unnoticeable as possible. His staff is friendly and professional. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Long wait for a barely 10 minute visit. It was my first visit and I wish he would have been a little more thorough since I was having an issue. I will go back because he came highly recommended and I’m still having the issue ..... hopefully it can be resolved.

This was my first visit for parathyroid problems. Dr took care of it with surgery. Everything he explained to me before surgery was just how it all worked out. Very happy with outcome.

Very good. I was well informed by everyone regarding my tests and care. I was also recommended to places that could further treat myh issue of hearing loss and the need for hearing aides.

Outstanding Doctor who really cares about his patients

Dr Ortega was very sensitive to my concerns and explained my test results in a way I could understand and made my decision to have surgery easier

Dr Ortega Understood my problem, gave me different meds & I am sooo much better. Will schedule an appointment In Oct to see that all is well.

I was having a problem with sever nasal blockage, resulting in using too much Afrin Dr. Ortega prescribed medications that gave me relief without using the Afrin.

Dr. Ortaga is always very good and the women at the front desk are plesant and helpful.

He did a thorough hearing exam which came out normal and decided there was a blockage in my left ear due to the 2nd covid vaccination which is disturbing. He put me on steroids but it still remains blocked.

Dr. John Ortega is patient and speaks Spanish and explains things very well with examples and even draws you a diagram. I really appreciated that he took his time explaining instruction to my mother.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ortega for about ten years now. I have seen him at different offices. He is a wonderful physician. He takes time to explain treatments. Reviews medications with me. And makes suggestions on how I could continue to improve. I appreciate his honest feedback.

Offered outstanding customer services. Very time oriented, not a long wait. Well organized. Flexible enough to meet my need. Detailed oriented in sharing information concerning purpose of visits, where even a kindergarten could understand.. An all around giid experience.

My ears were blocked with wax and hair I had pushed in too far. Doctor John removed the wax. It hurt, but it worked.

Was not pleased. How do You go to an ENT and he doesn't even looking your ears, nose or throat.

Great physician! Caring, professional and thorough.

Dr.ortega was efficient and professional and explained everything and gave me pointers on my next treatment options.

Great nurses and a swell doctor. Didn’t get to the bottom of my problem but he ruled out the things that fall under his area of expertise; which is all one could ask.

Dr. Ortega was very thorough in his assessment and worked to get me to a solution to my medical problem. He is also very easy to talk to.

Dr Ortega is great. I brought my daughter in to have her nose cauterized. He explained the procedure and showed the blood vessel that would have the procedure. It was a quick process. Happy we choose Dr. Ortega

Didn’t show any caring , was late for 1 hour and 10 mins exactly and didn’t even say sorry !!! I understand how busy are most of doctors but I also was really busy preparing for my USMLE test and I did waste my precious time !!’

Exceptional Customer Service

He is a good doctor but you cannot reach him or his office directly. I had a question about the material used in a facial surgery and an MRI I needed. I could not reach anyone but the scheduling office. They took messages but I never received a call back. There is no direct number to his office. That is unacceptable to me. The hospital had lost all their records, and could offer no information. He was the only one who could answer.

Absolutely great guy, and an excellent doctor. Very very nice caring and gentle, Not only did he do my septoplasty, but because the doctor doing My rhinoplasty didn’t have a surgical tech Dr. Ortega after he finished his part stayed to assist the plastic surgeon as her surgical tech, just so I could receive the best treatment possible, My wife who is a critical care nurse was even very impressed with his dedication to his patient, Yes do not hesitate to see Dr. Ortega

I absolutely adore Dr Ortega. He listens and helps you find the cause even if it means sending you to another specialist. He did that several years ago. The specialist helped me which meant I didn't see Dr Ortega for a couple years but when I needed him he remembered me and my history. Or at least took the time to review it. Both my daughter and I had successful surgeries from him also.

He's a great ENT doctor !

I saw Dr. Ortega several times over a 7-month period for my chronic cough at the Oak Park office and I will not go back. I would not recommend him to anyone. He kept prescribing more and more medicine which was not working, and he barely did any examination and performed no tests. There is something very wrong with me and he just attributed it to a bad allergy season. How would he know without doing any exam? His office does not call back pharmacies either. His whole office staff should be fired

My mom had a thyroid growth and when we took appointment with this doctor, he just cancelled the appointment saying that he doesn't treat this condition(He is an ENT :-(). I assume he was just giving an excuse because he didn't want to take risk(My mom is old and has heart issues). This is my first time experience where a doctor would not even see you one time before rejecting you!
