I had a client in desperate need for detoxification. They were hospitalized two days in a row for injuries sustained while intoxicated and drug withdrawals. The client admitted needing help and was on every waitlist in the NJ area for long term rehabilitation, but needed to detox first. Not only did this doctor claim this person didn’t meet “his” criteria, but his head nurse wound up hanging up on me claiming there was nothing further she could do so there was no sense in keeping the conversation going. So the sent her 93 miles back in a logistic van! I would Like to point out that she met all criteria’s for admittance (transferring from a hospital, was in withdrawal, and had insurance - I checked Before driving 1 hour and 40mins there) Her admittance laid solely in this man’s hands and he Chose Not to help her. Drug overdose has risen 20% in the state of NJ since the COVID19 crisis started. This facility had the bed/s available to help assist a women who desperately needed it and didn’t. It’s heartbreaking and I never Leave reviews, but the world needs to know about this situation that happened at the St. Clare’s detox center! Please consider this facility and this doctor your last ditch resort because they don’t live up to the Saint name or the professional title.. sadly! I would have given him a 1/2 star but they made me choose at least one.
