This doctor wants me to pee in a cup like a drug addict to refill the minuscule precipitations I’ve been getting for over 15 years. My precipitations are for a ruptured ligament in my hand that affects the tracking in my wrist. Basically bone on bone and painful. Open heart surgery 4 years ago, my sternum is always sore. Carpel Tunnel syndrome in both wrists. Back problems for 25 years, etc.. And I work an extremely physical job, solar installations. But what would a privileged pencil pusher with a desk job know about pain associated with real labor.?? It’s like Kaiser thinks they can trap you once you move here. ?? He was a pompous, interruptive prick on top of “chipping away” at my medications. Stand up to your insurance handlers/ doctors board and fight for REAL patient care or you’re a shit doctor..

I endured one excruciating, frustrating, and disappointing year with Kaiser Permanente and Dr. Meisel. Inefficient communication, wasted time, poor listening skills, disorganized, and misplaced medical records for a time sensitive issue. Stunning incompetence, inefficiency, ineptitude, and indifference. Beware of selecting KP, wasting endless time on the phone for simple matters, a poorly designed website that wastes more time with the secure message system, and a doctor who neither conveys empathy nor listens actively. The KP lab experience was top notch---organized, efficient, convenient.

This man walked into the room talked to me like I was 8. Proceeded to tell me about my life long medical issues as if I didn’t know about them and then told me I was wrong about them. Patients with chronic illness know their bodies. He did not listen to a single word and patronized me the whole time. And this was day one. I have worked in the health care industry for 30 years. He is the exact kind of dr I caution my pts about. All patients should be looked at as individuals if you don’t you will miss something by generalizing or trivializing. Talk to and hear.

Not recommended. I went to him with two separate tests from a colleague of his. He blamed low testosterone on Covid and wanted to do more testing. As if low test is a sign of Covid. What he could of missed was Cancer. He was lazy, and uneducated on causes of low test. Instead of coming up with a a plan to find out. He just recommends the same test be run again. This is how Doctors miss cancers like pancreas cancer. Avoid him at all costs.

Doctor John Meisel was my primary doctor. His last issues he addressed were to uncover my out-immune condition known as Celiac. I am grateful he diagnosed my condition. Since then my diet has changed for the better. The 2nd one he didn't have enough chance to diagnose. I has a rash in a sensitive area. The ointment he prescribed did not do anything. By then he had left his practice here for Hawaii. Thought I would pass on that from my own personal investigating I discovered the culprit was Irish Spring Soap. Googling the name it revealed others had reactions to it. As soon as I changed to a milder non perfumed soap the rash disappeared. Just thought he might like to know.

He was my primary care physician for four years. Incompetent and always unsettling in misdiagnosing and recommending followup care.

He dosent listen. He is always in a rush. I doubt he really feels simpaty for patients

I find Dr. Meisel to be a caring and dedicated physician and a kind person. We may not always agree on everything, but he listens and follows up on what we have discussed. He is interested in what I am doing and how to maintain or improve my health in order to meet my goals. He does not hesitate to refer me to a specialist whenever one is needed. He is not afraid to prescribe medicine or suggest a more naturo-pathic solution if one is applicable. He works well with other doctors too.

Without going into detail this doctor has little experience or urgency when something is or may be seriously wrong. Has no clue what to do. I stopped going immediately when I got literally no response when I had a potentially serious issue. There is a method of referring a patient to the correct practitioners that eludes this one.
