The 1st pain block, he went in through front, my chronic pain is ulnar nerve, located in back. My face fell from the epidural. The 2nd shot, 12 hours later my left leg swelled up 3 times it's size, has horrific bruising, and it's excruciating pain. I am scared to death of this man.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Marsella’s for over 10 years. He is one of the most intelligent doctors I’ve ever met. Highly recommend.
I have been going to Dr Jerry Marcella for 22 years off and on he is a wonderful doctor in the best in the Southeast for pain management of RSD

My wife is a patient of his, for pain management. Dr. Marsella is crazy-knowledgeable and really cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone who suffers with chronic pain.
Dr Marsella and his staff have treated me well and are very professional.

I need to shut all these doctors down they think a steroid epidural it's everybody's needs I don't listen to how your pain is all they do is want to write you or stick you with a needle I don't ask you your pain I don't care takes him three days to call you back when you get a nurse it ain't worth a s*** I think it's ridiculous
Worst pain management doctor ever. They are clueless on how to manage a pain pump. His male nurse Taylor needs to go back to school and learn about pain pumps
I started seeing Dr Marcella a year and a half ago transferring from Maryland his staff is very pleasant especially the young lady at the front Desk and one of the ladies in the back I can’t say which one but she is very pleasant to I believe she schedules the Procedures Doctor Marcella is very professional before I went to see him I heard nothing but bad things about him I found none of them to be true I like Dr Marcella it is true that if nothing is wrong with you he will not be seeing you but if you truly have chronic pain arthritis or any other chronic pain issues he will be a very professional good Dr. I had one procedure done by Dr Marcella he did not leave until he made sure I was OK I was very surprised he asked me several times was i feeling OK I started seeing Dr Marcella a year and a half ago transferring from Maryland his staff is very pleasant especially the young lady at the front Desk and one of the ladies in the back I can’t say which one but she is very pleasant to I … More
At the beginning I was worried to try the Stimulator for my pain, but I decide to try with Dr. Marcella's and it went great. He is a very nice and concern all the time. Thank's
Do not use this Dr. He will leave you without any care while you hound the office staff to check the status of your case. We would have been left for months waiting if we did not start calling the office leaving messages asking what to do next and what was going on. He did not read any of the notes his nurse left him for at least a week until she made sure to speak with him about it the next morning. Then the answer was vague and without a plan. DO NOT SEEK HELP FROM THIS ARROGANT LITTLE MAN WITH THE PERSONALITY & BEDSIDE MANNER OF A DOORKNOB, RANKING A MINUS 10 ON THE EFFECIENT, ATTENTIVE, EMPATHETIC, CARING & PROFESSIONAL SCALE. APPARENTLY, HE DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. HE SPEAKS VERY LITTLE & DOESN'T ELABORATE ON ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. HE TREATS YOU LIKE YOU'RE A BOTHER TO HIM SIMPLY BY BEING IN HIS OFFICE. HE REMOVED TEMPORARY LEAD WIRES THROUGH AN OPEN WOUND IN MY BACK WITHOUT WEARING GLOVES. I DON'T KNOW IF HE HAD EVEN WASHED HIS HANDS. HE THEN STATED THAT HE BELIEVED I DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR A PAIN IMPLANT BECAUSE "IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF MY MONEY (I HAVE 100% INSURANCE COVERAGE) AND A WASTE OF HIS TIME". HE DECIDED THIS WITHOUT DISCUSSION OF THE TRIAL I HAD JUST FINISHED & WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT MY WEEK'S EXPERIENCE WITH THE DEVICE USED THAT COULD POSSIBLY CONTROL MY CHRONIC PAIN OF 15+ YEARS. HE SIMPLY DEEMED THAT I WOULD BE A WASTE OF HIS TIME. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MAN.
DO NOT SEEK HELP FROM THIS ARROGANT LITTLE MAN WITH THE PERSONALITY OF A DOORKNOB, RANKING A MINUS 10 ON THE EFFECIENT, ATTENTIVE, EMPATHETIC, CARING & PROFESSIONAL SCALE. HE DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. HE SPEAKS VERY LITTLE & DOESN'T ELABORATE ON ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. HE TREATS YOU LIKE YOU'RE A BOTHER TO HIM SIMPLY BY BEING IN HIS OFFICE. After 10+ yrs of chronic lower back pain relating to degenerative osteoarthritis in my lower back & after the epidurals, nerve blocks & nerve ablations performed by the wonderful Dr David Evans at Pain Management near Southeast Health, I decided to enroll in a week long trial for a spinal stimulator implant. Dr Evan's didn't perform that procedure, so my Hughston Clinic physician referred me to little man because "he is the absolute best in the tristate area at this procedure". The procedure involves placing wire leads in your spinal column & they are hooked up to an external stimulator which sends electrical pulses to your nerves to scramble the pain signals that are sent to your brain, thus allowing you not to feel pain. It's an out-patient procedure & you are sent home with a remote control to have the ability to change settings to find which masks your pain the best. But I didn't go straight home, because like another reviewer, I crashed in post-op with a 58/34 blood pressure & a 34 heart rate. The nurses scrambled to push fluids in me, telling me not to close my eyes & to stay with them. I could hear talking & realized it was me but I wasn't making any sense. My son said that Marsella told them to send me to ER where I stayed for 3-4 hrs until I was coherent & out of danger. The insertation of the wires leaves you very sore & unable to determine if the stimulator is helping or not for the first 2-3 days of the 7 day trial. I felt electrical sensations down both legs but not my back (my point of pain) unless I arched it. I contacted the stimulator rep & was told my lead wires may have SLIPPED because they WERE NOT stitched inside my back! They were stitched at the place of insertation but not inside! They did a good job on my leg pain but very little on my lower back. 2 days later, the rep had me turn off the remote for 2 hours to give my legs a rest since my calves were sore from getting most of the electricity. 3 days before the wire removal, I could tell a little difference in my back pain, FINALLY. My adult son took me to his office to have lead wires removed after a week & to discuss how much it helped & whether I should have them surgically permanently implanted in my back. The nurse appeared happy to hear my pain level was lower & the stimulator had given me some relief. Little man came in then & took the wires out WITHOUT WEARING GLOVES, NOR WASHING HIS HANDS BEFOREHAND. He didn't discuss my week, the ups & downs or any relief I had obtained. He simply said, "I've decided you're not a candidate for the implant. It would be a waste of your money (I have 100% insurance coverage) & it would be A WASTE OF MY TIME". I couldn't even speak. My adult son asked what alternatives I had & he said DRUGS. We both said NO because I don't want to be dependent. My son asked if any surgery would help. Little man said, "I'm not a surgeon & can't discuss that with you". Maybe not, but he could have given me an idea, a direction to take, a referral. He said nothing else to me, so I said to my son, "let's go". He said, "let's get out of here, we'll find a second opinion". Little man said nothing as we left of the room. He is the most unprofessional "professional" I've ever met. PLEASE DO NOT SEEK HELP FROM THIS MAN. You will merely be a "waste of his time".

Made my best friend cry every time she came in and she had cancer and he treated her like she was dirt she would call me crying and no positive UA no Dr shopping no early refills. Not a nice man
NOT a honest man/Dr. while giving me a back epidural his nurse made a comment that blood had backed up into the injection.. he should have removed it and started over, but he didn’t. He pushed the injection filled with my blood and medicine back into my spine. When it was over he ask Was I feeling any numbness in my lips and I said no, so he left the room. Suddenly though I did start to feel the numbness and the nurse called for him. By the time he arrived I went into a seizure type state. He ask the nurse did she have “the cart” & she said no. By this time another another dr joined in the room as well as 2 more nurses. He kept talking to me asking could I hear him, but I was unable to respond verbally. Both drs and the 3 nurses were in a panic type state working on me. When I was in recovery he kept checking on me as well. I could tell he was either scared or concerned. I told him that I had seen 2 dead people while having that seizure and he totally ignored me. He didn’t responsd at all!! By the time they released me I had been in his office for 4 hrs & 40 min. One nurse came out and told me, “You sure had us scared!” All the other staff had left for the day and all lights were turned off in the building, so in other words, i was kept there well past closing. I had a friend drive me to this appt and I told her that the appt usually takes about 1-2 hours. She said when I didn’t come out that she kept asking about me and they would not allow her to sit with me while I was to be in recovery. They kept telling her I was asleep!!! The type seizure I had made my teeth chatter very hard for 5 hours!! What is strange is NONE of this was reflected in his dr’s notes in my file. It stated that I had a epidural and was released in 20 minutes. I never went back except to get a copy of my records and Dr. Marsala made it hard for me to get them. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone for anything!!!!! He doesn’t need to practice medicine!!! A wonderful, caring doctor. My husband has multiple serious health issues, the staff are always so nice. They have a job to do, and a routine they have to go through, which I understand. The wait time, always varies, but is understandable, as they handle a large amount of patients. Dr. Marsella, is always so good with him, and for that I am forever grateful....all in all a great clinic. A wonderful, caring doctor. Great doctor!
My first epidural went fine, the staff and everyone was nice. Dr Marsella explained what he was going to do. It was much easier than I thought.
Dr. Marsella is such a great doctor, if you have pain he is a great doctor and very kind. I've had several epidurals from him and they have helped take my pain away.
