He was running 2 hours late and then when he did come in the room he was complaining about the other patients Disc he had to look at didn’t even take the time with me because they close at five so he was in a hurry.

We found Dr Main to be excellent. He explained my problem and has done what he said. Will be continuing going to him.

Dr Main made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Explained results of MRI and potential measures to address issues.

My husband has a benign tumor in the brain. A series of nurses and a PA came into the room to ask and answer questions and then Dr. Main arrived. He confirmed the tumor and also confirmed that it was the reason my husband was slammed with Bell’s Palsy, He also referred my husband to a neurologist who excels at the tumor’s removal. We recommend Dr. Main’s practice. We were seen by efficient and knowledgeable staff in a timely manner.

Very detailed explanation about the process

Said every detail on what they found from exrays ! Even told me few things that I didn't know. Very honest! At my age I need honest. Thank you!

The Staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Dr. Main took his time in explaining my condition and options and made me feel confident in his knowledge and abilities.

Excellent care, advice and follow-up. Dr Main and the healhcare team saved my life and helped me continue living with good quality of life. The waiting time was really long. Over an hour. His stall didn't send the referral to my primary. Still need a CT scan 18 days later

Everyone was very professional and caring!

So far I like the dr. I go back k next Friday to see him with my CT test. Go from ther.

I love him and his staff. He is so cool and the staff makes it so pleasant.

Diagnosed within minutes on my first visit and corrected shortly afterwards. Daily pain for years was eliminated via Doctor Main's gifted skills.

He gets a 3 for the work and himself plus Jill, Windy's replacement. That he continues to work with staff that are unconscionably rude, thats the minus. I have multiple experiences but this is one: Tech is removing my staples, she needs help so she gets the new guy. They walk in, he condescendingly asks who put the staples in? She replies to him and they continue to talk as though im not there. She finished and said someone should be right in. I notice it starts swelling. Soon I dont feel good. Its been 30 minutes, i go to reschedule. The woman asks if ive been seen, i explain. Now she cant hear me and sends me to another person where we both hear her shout "tell her to go back to her room and wait like everyone else " like adding gas to fire with me. Haven't heard a word since. So here I sit with a lump the size of a baseball, hoping its normal, because you'll drag me through glass before ill go back. .

Dr. Main gave me a chance to be a mother and saved me from certain paralysis. God bless him.

My wife is being destroyed by osteoarthritis, for which there are no wonder drugs as there are for rheumatoid arthritis. 4 years ago she was in such pain with her neck, she cried all the time from the pain and could not perform daily functions of life. 4 months after surgery she was back to work and playing golf regularly. 2 weeks ago he performed surgery on her lower back. In 2 weeks, she has gone from having to use a walker to using a cane part of the time and no walking support most of the time. She still has a little pain, but it is surgical site pain but not debilitating pain like she had before. In our book, Dr Main is a miracle worker and has our utmost respect and confidence.

My husband experienced a loss of strength in his legs,, loss of mobility and balance and would fall. He also had some difficulty on left side with numbness in his arm. During his first visit with Dr Main, although he had quite a wait, when he actually met with Dr Main he was very pleasant, showed him the MRI, and explained to him exactly what the procedure would be and what he should expect. Five weeks after surgery he is feeling an improvement in his mobility and movements. Based on his experience, we would definitely recommend Dr. Main. Worst bedside manner and rudest staff don’t recommend!

Dr. would not see me because his staff messed up. They told me in writing in 2 different places to bring my latest MRI disc which I did. When I got there the desk clerk was very rude. Than a nurse talked to me and said wait ill check. Than an office lady came out after about a half hour there and said first MRI was before my surgery which was 8/25/20 MRI disc was from 10/10/2020 she argued that it was before surgery. She went back in the office came back 5 minutes later and said I was right. But they still needed an MRI within a year (it was within a year when I booked the appt.) NO WHERE on their paperwork did it say within a year , just the last MRI I had. I did not see the DR. and know he was there but he did not even give me the respect to see me. I wouldn't trust anyone in this office. BEWARE

Since coming to Florida in March, I have had a string of bad medical luck! Some Doctors have not been friendly but then you run into a Doctor like Dr. Main... he and his staff are friendly and kind! Everybody's story is not defined by their insurance and this office made me feel like my problem mattered! Thank you all!

Kept waiting for over 2 hours and they closed at 5pm I got out 630pm! Nurse was rude. Dr. Main really didn't have a clue! How do you not know after reading MRI that disk is pressing on your nerves in back caused numbness in legs and feet and offer NO solutions to the problem! Aweful experience

Today I had one of THE WORST EXPERIENCES WITH Medical OFFICE MANAGEMENT! It took me two months to get my appointment at 3:15 today. Yesterday I received a phone call asking me to move my appointment time up to 2:15 I agreed. Well I waited and waited and I waited! At 3:20 I spoke up.! I was told I hadn’t been seen because I hadn’t verified my appointment!!!! Really?? So I sat down again and waited. Then I got angry, Wouldn’t you? Finally at 3:30 I told the incompetent office staff. I was leaving. And will find a doctor who’s staff wasn’t so incompetent! The office staff is the reflection of the doctor himself!! I am blind and there nurse practitioner walked in and didn't even introduce himself so I told him I didn't know him and asked who he was. His response was I'm me and your you in an extremely rude manner and that that was all I needed to know. He took the images to dr. Main then came back and said I had a tumor and that they did not handle the kind of shunts that I have so they were going to refer me to another neurosurgeon. Down to earth doctor staff very nice dr main had me comfortable from the moment he stepped into his office I need a fusion

Wound up in the hospital with a blood infection and absess in my spine,,, Dr Maine and yes he is a doctor to me Dr Perez fixed me forever indebted

Dr. Main performed emergency back surgery on my daughter. He did an outstanding job. I am now going to him about my back. Cudos to Dr. Main; Physician Asst., Aldo Perez; & the rest of the Staff...very efficent & very nice.

Had pain down legs and gait was getting sloppy. in 2019 Dr. Main did a lumbar fusion L3-L4 which connected my first fusion L4-L5 in 1993 by another doctor. the following day they got me out of bed and let pain gone and normal gait returned within a few days post op. I did my homework prior to the surgery so I could have an intelligent conversation with him and we agreed an a procedure. I am seeing him again for cervical issue due to strong electrical sensations and some loss of motor control in my right arm and hand. I think the staff could be more informative to waiting patients, i.e. doc is still in surgery or an emergency. when patients are waiting for longer than normal they are not as annoyed as being kept in the dark. It is also a shame that some reviews here say the staff is a reflection of the doctor. that is not always accurate.

if you need back and/or neck surgery, don’t go to Dr. Main unless you are prepared for long waits in his office and in care rooms and don’t expect them to carry through when referring you for other procedures and such. Took 6-8 calls for the office to send request for CT Myligram to the hospital, gave us wrong number to call to see if they got it and now, after waiting an hour, we finally got put into a room and still have at least a half hour wait to see the doctor!!! Ridiculous.

Office staff are rude and unpleasant to work with. Doctor as well would rather refer you to pain management than do the surgery like multiple doctor referrals suggest. Maybe it’s my fault for living in Marion County and the surgeons here only caring if your insurance pays more to work for them. It’s all about the money with the surgeons here in this county they don’t care if you need it or not. Truth is if I had the best insurance I’d rather go to UF or Orlando’s network where the card and experience is much better. I would not suggest this Doctor to anyone and am glad UF is coming to the Villages. I hope they put Ocala Health completely out of business and do the injured community a favor. My mom had severe leg pain in both legs due to degenerative joint disease of the lumbar spine for over several years. The last month the pain was a 10 and she could barely walk. After surgery with Dr. Main just 2 days ago, she is pain free, walking with the help of a walker and is so happy with Dr. Main and the staff at OCALA Regional Hospital that she can barely tell her friends without breaking into tears! To say the least...I. hadbeen going through the toughest time ever in my life dealing with pain for the last three years! I was referred to a different Nuerosurgeon first (I won't say his name) his assistant whom was there when I first went to the appointment was a witness So I thought. The other surgeon basically told me there was nothing wrong with me after looking at my MRI as his assistant was present. I had to endure more months in pain to find out the surgeon put in his notes I denied surgical procedure that he never discussed with me. I was angry, frustrated and in chronic pain. I had enough so altered my health insurance to PPO. I found Dr.John Main and started researching him along with a couple others. Anyhow I chose Dr. Main and I am so very thankful I did. Minutes in Dr. Mains office and him reviewing my 2 MRIs he asked my mother to take a look. Dr.Main then started formulating a plan and told me what I needed and how he would go about the procedure.3 years in chronic pain with no pain meds I was ready to solve my issue. Dr.Main said a date and I said yes without hesitation. Day after surgery and I have no nerve pains in my legs at all. I am so thankful for Dr.Main Windy and his office. (Other surgeons if you are not qualified, knowledgeable, skilled and confident please just tell a patient you can't or won't accept them as a patient instead of falsely accusing someone of denying procedure. Be aware of those Doctors that do that and just call Dr. Main. I am so glad Dr.Main did my fusion. AWESOME - no more back pain!!! It will be one year Sept 23rd that I had Dr. Main fix a 35 year problem. 2 herniated disks and no disk material between L4 and L5 left me with a level of pain that was off the charts. Breathing hurt! I managed for years with the help of Chiropractic and nerve blocks but nothing really stopped all the pain. Dr. Main took the time to review my MRI thoroughly and came up with a customized plan to fix my back. 5 hours after surgery I stood up for the first time in 35 years WITHOUT ANY PAIN! I was in the hospital overnight went home the next day and had to control myself from doing more than I was allowed because I finally felt like I could do things again. It was amazing how it just kept getting better and how I now could take a deep breath without pain, getting in and out of my car - no pain! Just doing normal everyday things - NO PAIN!! His office staff and his OR assistant Aldo were awesome to me and I felt that everyone at his office cared about me.

I saw Dr Main in early December 2019 regarding herniated cervical disc with significant nerve impingement, degenerative disc disease and bone spurs pressing on spinal cord. Dr Main reviewed mri's and nerve conduction tests and suggested acdf surgery. I was very nervous about surgery but so tired of limited use of my arm and pain radiating from my hip to my neck and shoulder. Dr main operated on me dec 30 and it was a success. Dr main and pa Aldo followed up next day in hospital and went over all post operative instructions. When i woke all the pain i was experiencing before was gone. Im one month post op now and am able to walk 2 miles with no pain where before i would be bent over in pain. I can't thank dr main and his staff enough for the great work and compassion pre surgery, during and post surgery. I highly recommend dr main for your neurosurgeon needs.

Was supposed to be seen in his office close to our home but was told he was on emergency duty and I should come to his office 24 miles away. So I got up early, drove in the rain and got there 20 min. before the apppointment. Waited the 20 min., then another hour and 10 min. and then left. His staff did not even have the courtesy to let us know if he was in the building or not and how much longer we would have to wait.

My visit to his office made me very uncomfortable from start to finish. The professionalism most people expect from a doctor and his/her staff was not there. I do not plan on returning. Not would I recommend anyone go there.

Dr Main performed a fusion on me in July 2018. I had no idea of Dr Main's reviews. I just new i needed help. Dr. Main got my in shortly and i was on my way to recovery. Problem resurfaced on another disk which was causing me even more pain. Dr Main got me back into surgery in 3 days. The second surgery went well. 60 days later i developed MRSA in the hospital which could have come from anywhere while there. Since recovering from MRSA i am doing pretty well. Three back fusions in 4 months from two separate surgeries is a lot of trauma and i am now about 6 months out and i am getting better every day. I cant walk a long distance without a walker yet but it gets better everyday. I highly recommend Dr. Main. Dr Main performed a fusion on me in July 2018. I had no idea of Dr Main's reviews. Worthless surgeon. Read all the reviews about crippling patients. Do your research on the guy before letting him cut on you.

I had back surgery in Jan., 2019. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone. Office staff is absolutely terrible and act like they just don’t care, especially physicians assistant. He’s got a bad attitude and rude. I had to book an appointment with a neurologist to find out why I can’t walk after surgery!! Beware

I am a physician and had recent lumbar microdiscectomy with Dr Main,. Excellent Result!! Pain in legs gone completely immediately post op! Highest recommendation!! Results since in Ocala have been excellent!! Minimally invasive surgery was awesome!!!

Recently Had a TLIF from Dr. Main in Ocala 2018. The surgery was extensive and Dr. Main was able to talk to me and my wife about what was done and problems that he has encountered. I have had some sever SI joint issues not which Dr. Main is addressing.

He tells it like it is! he is not going to perform surgery if it is not necessary, he was my 2nd opinion and I switched to him! his bed side manner is wonderful very compassionate treats you like family :] he and his staff is an A+++++

After waiting four weeks to see him and spending four hours in the waiting room due to my pain. With my heart doctor calling once because my heart monitor had spiked while in the waiting room. (Pacemaker) Dr. Main entered only to stay 3 minutes. Never stated his name ask how I felt, my MRI that was special due to pacemaker never even looked at it. New Doctor for me!

Dr. Main seems to be a very qualified, nice person. I trust his opinions and recommendations. His staff, on the other hand, I find to be on the edge of incompetent. It's next to impossible to get a call back for an appointment, in spite of leaving several requests over a period of weeks.

Unless you dial 0 saying you are a doctor. You never get a real person - and they never call back. The MRI is being held up for the doctor's dictation to be transcribed (7 days after the appointment and there is still no transcription) before the referral can be made.
