He literally told my husband “well I’m all out of ideas”. It’s bipolar disorder not rocket science. Horrible bedside manner and can’t manage to force his two brain cells together to form a thought. Who knew it was so easy to become a “doctor”.

If it I hadn't found Dr. Laubenthal I would probably be in a pretty bad place. He helped me recover using medicines that worked for me and a mixture that was just right to get my life on track. He is very knowledgeable and very friendly. But honestly he is one of my hero's I owe him my life. If your having a hard time finding a doctor that can come up with a medicinal regiment specify tailor to your needs Come to Dr. Laubenthal. He has a non narcotic and non addictive drug approach to medication, so the medicine he does prescribe it all feels very natural with minimal side effects. I made an appointment with Dr. Laubenthal because he was recommended by a doctor I trust. I then went online to check reviews and Dr. Laubenthal either had horrible reviews or reviews praising him. I find it difficult to trust reviews when they are so diverse, but the negative reviews forced me to write a positive review so people can know the truth. Dr. Laubenthal had a very warm demeanor. He was understanding and really seemed to care about my concerns. He was unable to help me, but he didn't demean my ideas or feelings about what might be going on with me. He referred me for evaluation. Very nice, smart doctor. He seems like someone I would have liked to work with. Hint: Look at language and grammar when deciding to trust a review and remember some people act out in a histrionic manner if they don't get what they want. Dr. Laubenthal has been a tremendous help. My wife has been a patient of his for years now and he has worked with her through several issues both hereditary and work stress related. Dr. Laubenthal continues to provide her with excellent care. I would highly recommend his services.

I am very happy I chose Dr. Laubenthal. I was pretty nervous my first appointment but upon entering the office the kind office staff put me at ease. The Dr. himself really listens and seems to be a pretty laid back guy in general which made it easier for me to talk to him- like I said I was nervous so I rambled a bit but he was very patient while I stumbled through what I was trying to say. I have found my time spent with Dr Laubenthal to be positive. I have been a patient for about four years and in that time have made healthy progress. The goal is not to get your way or your want, but to work in harmony together trying to become mentally sound. The doctors job is to guide you to healthiness and your job is to desire that outcome and have trust in his education. I wish I had met Dr Laubenthal a couple of decades ago as he has been the only doctor who diagnosed me properly. I have had doctors give me what I wanted, Dr Laubenthal was the first to tell me what I needed to hear and prescribe appropriate medication. Excellent doctor! Oh m gee!! Save your time!!

Laubenthal keeps posting that you shouldn't go by reviews online, so I didn't listen to them, and I made an appt with him. Turns out the negative reviews are true, and he's just trying to keep the negative comments silenced as much as he can. Very bad experience. Won't be back.

This is the WORST doctor ever. He is so insensitive and uncaring. I went in for an evaluation and I was telling him my symptoms, and he entire time he sat back in his chair, arms folded, eyes rolled. He then cut me off and said "I'm just gonna cut you off here because I have a feeling that you're just gonna keep on going and going and going, and never stop!" I looked at my boyfriend in shock that he said that, and then he proceede to ask my boyfriend (visit was suppose to be about me, not my boyfriend) about his personal financial information. I asked him to open his DSM (the psychiatric book that psychiatrists MUST use in America to diagnose) to properly diagnose me and he completely refused. It was lying right beside his hand, and he said, "I don't have to go by what this book says! I'm just gonna give you my OPINION on what you have." I said, "I'm paying for to be a doctor and give me a proper diagnosis," and he said "FINE! I'll just say you have OCD! Are you happy now?" I told him he was being rude and he has no compassion, and he said that I'm the one being rude, and that I shouldn't bother scheduling another appointment. I've never been treated like this by ANY doctor. My boyfriend and I are shocked at his lack of bedside manners and his lack of professionalism, and refusing to use the actual Psychiatric book. PLEASE, do not go and waste your money! The people giving good reviews must be friends of his, or they're happy because they're getting their Adderall addiction refilled every two weeks. This "doc" tried to force Xanax on me. I don't want to be on any medications I don't need, and I especially don't want to be forced to take meds that are highly addictve! He's very rude too. I asked if there was any natural ways to help with my anxiety, but he kept pushing this Xanax stuff. Not going back. I found a new doctor in the area, she's nice and helpful. One of the worst providers I have ever been to. In my opinion, he was only interested in seeing you every couple weeks to be able to bill your insurance again. He spent maybe 5 min with me each time and would bill my insurance a 99214 along with an additional add on code. I also had to pay OOP $30 each time for less than 5 min in his office. Of that 5 minutes he was usually doing paperwork from the previous patient...he’s not in it for patient care. I was very disappointed in his character. Finally found help! Was struggling finding a doctor who could help my mental problems, after seeing several I have lost my hopes, a friend of mine recommended me Dr. John and he’s helping so much, I’m back living. Thank you so much!

I have been using Dr. John for years. At first, when going through a tough divorce he help get proper meds and was always courteous and helped me talk through things logically. After all that passed, I still find it beneficial for my daily life to see him periodically.

I have been a patient of Dr. Laubenthal for over 10 years. I appreciate the friendliness of his staff and their flexibility in fitting me in last minute if need be. Thank you for letting me hit the easy button when it comes to my health care. I appreciate the time Dr. L takes in each visit allowing me to cover all the bases.

Dr. L. is one of a few psychiatrists in our area, and the only one that was responsive and able to help me. I've been seeing him for a few years and he has always been honest and professional. I find it interesting that all of the 1 star reviews of Dr. Laubenthal appear to be from the same person. I have been treated by Dr. Laubenthal for 5 years and he has helped me tremendously. I am no longer taking Ambien or Xanax and have improved mentally, physically, and emotionally. When I first visited him, he informed me that I needed to remove the negative medicines that I am currently taking. This took many months and it was a hard process. I am now independent again and only take a medication for my depression. My health is good and I now exercise daily and am in a healthy relationship. Dr. Laubenthal is the first physician in 20 years that truly helped me reclaim my life. To the people/most likely person that gave him one star, my guess is that you just came to him for Xanax. This guy is arrogant and full of what he thinks he know of u and quick to take a lot of money and receptionist lies to draw patients to pay crazy money. when trying to tell him what has work for you in decades he is quick to call you a drug seeker. When asking for money back he stated "this isn't McDonalds". Also when I went to fill the psychotic medication he prefer over years of normal meds that do no cause such side effects, he told pharmacy to no fill my prescription. Horrible person

This "doctor," is by far, the WORST doctor EVER. Please do not go to him. His bedside manner is awful. He refused to open up his DSM Book (the book that psychiatrists MUST use to diagnose)! I kept saying "I don't meet the criteria for those symptoms, open up the DSM book on your desk so you can see." And he said "I'm not going to open it. I honestly don't care what's wrong with you. Frankly, I don't care if you ever come back." He also asked my boyfriend several private financial questions.

Like all the other 1 star reviews- You go into his office and try to talk about what you’re “feeling”. He stares at you blankly then hands you a prescription and sends you out the door. Pill pusher is all this “dr” is.

I agree 100% with poor feedback, essentially just writes prescriptions, and makes you return every two weeks to rack up office charges, don't waste time or money. Walk in clinic will be just as effective

I have never been so humiliated in my life. This man was so agoragant and at one point he called me a lier over something that he didn't know about in the least. They also charged me double for a cancelation even though I had not met him yet and brought my papers. If you go to this man you wil be waisting your time and money. Oh and did I mention I'm a 60 year old woman and he called me a lier about a medicine I've been taking for 10 years. I've contacted the BBB. Tried to obtain an appointment for three months. No return call, ended up at Emerald Coast after suicide attempt on suicide watch. Quite possibly could have been avoided

Horrible man secretary flipped her middle finger off at us. Ima60 year old nurse LPN never in my 40 something years seen anything like him and is office

Was confrontational when he found out that I had been trying to get disability. I had been in the process for a few years prior to seeing himl. But after disability contacted him asking for his records on me, I felt that he treated me as if I was only there because I wanted disability. Aside from the initial visit I have never spent longer than five minutes in his office but he still bills $500 to the insurance company. Poor listener and makes you feel worse when you leave then when you arrived.

Hes an arrogant piece of dog squeeze who over bills to fund his fishing habit. He has no personality and i walk out of his office feeling used. Not treated. Hes going to piss off the wrong, screwed in the head, patient. He states that only drug seekers leave him bad reviews. I wasnt a drug seeker. I went in in tears and was looking for help, for happiness, for peace, for someway to keep myself together to enjoy what has so far been a scary, miserable, lonely life. He failed. Thatisnowaddedon

I got referred to him by my primary doctor, unfortunately this doctor only prescribes one type of medicine for everyone ( incentives) so if it makes you feel worse than you already do he will just add on other pills.

Would not recommend this doctor. Bad communication. Not one ounce of bedside manner. Only cares about keeping patients on medication even if it makes them worse off. Over charges your insurance.

Made me come in every month just to rewrite my scripts when he could've given me a 3 month script then see me every three months. No bedside manner and was very confrontational with me when I stated I was having issues with my life and my meds not working. He complained that Everytime I came in to see him I was experiencing some kind of drama with a very confrontational angry tone. He doesn't seem to take into account his job is to make people feel safe not worse

I went to this Doctor for depression and anxiety . The only positive thing I can say about this doctor is prescribed a medicine that works. The negatives are he wanted to see me every month to just write a script for the med. Well that's a Co-pay of $60.00 a month for a med. He could of wrote me a three month supply. The staff is also VERY rude. Not good for patients with needs. I went to the VA and got a 6 month supply. This guy only funds his fishing trips via you

I came in to see this doctor this morning, hopeful to find a solution for my postpartum depression & severe anxiety. Instead, I got judgment passed upon me because I am a former addict. I paid $280 for 10 mins of me crying in hysteria while he sat & berated me. I NEVER asked specifically for Benzos for my anxiety. I only stated what I am dealing with, along with postpartum, & he assumed so. I was HUMILIATED, being extremely vulnerable right now. Sad excuse for a Doctor, or a human being.
