Dr. John Jungkyum Kim

I’ve been seeing Dr Kim for several years for different joint issues. I wouldn’t see another doctor unless he moves away. I highly recommend him. He’s honest and he has a wonderful bedside manner.

I called the office. Asked a direct question. Does Dr. Kim do hip replacements. I got an answer, yes he does. Made the appointment. Saw Dr.John Kim. He turns to me and tells me he doesn't do hip replacements anymore. Just knees. I get charged for a office visit. My insurance which isn't great I have to pay the office more. I spoke to the office manager. I was told he does do hip replacements. I say FRAUD . And who is lying! I called the office. Asked a direct question. Does Dr. Kim do hip replacements. Single handedly responsible for correcting a severely deranged left knee. The extensive thought and care put into rehabilitating my knee lasted from the very first visit, to the year after post-op being close to 100% recovered. The physical therapy team is just as considerate and hard working as Dr. Kim. All excellent care offered from Northern Virginia Orthopedic Specialists

I’ve been a patient of dr kim for 7 years. He has always treated me with extreme care, patience & consideration. He listens well, asks questions and has done meniscus surgery & given me shots in knees for swelling & pain. I highly recommend him. He takes time & recommends follow up.

Maybe Dr. Kim is a great and well treating patient doctor but the receptionist who takes the calls is not kind and does not treat patients with conderation enough.

Dr Kim is a no nonsense, getting right down to the problem kind of doctor: which I like. Two times I've been there, he was right on. Thanks doc.

Dr. Kim did both my hip replacement and shoulder rotator cuff reconstruction. I can't say enough good about him. I have no pain, full range of motion, and have recovered to the same strength level as I had prior to the joints starting their pain. I don't play tennis anymore just because I don't want to aggravate the joints, but feel like I could. I highly recommend this excellent doctor. Just put the time and effort into physical therapy after his procedure. Tremendous asset to the community

Dr. Kim is an excellent listener ! He talks "to" you not "at" you. Explains conditions and recommended treatments in plain English for you to be able to make an informed decision. He also has a great sense of humor :)

Dr Kim is excellent. He listens, evaluates and diagnoses. I am do happy to have found him. You will not be disappointed.

In terms of surgery, he is very good. He is a good mechanic and puts the parts together. In terms of how he deals with his patients afterward, he needs some work. He is overly cautious about the outcome of his procedures and told my wife and I that I would have limited range after the surgery. I refused to believe him and did rehab with the idea I would get close to full range back. Within two months, I was within 5% of my normal range. Do the surgery, ignore his prognosis.
