I had a very good experience with the NorthWestern Memorial Hospital . Dr. John Kim is a wonderful surgeon, and the staff is always helpful and kind. I had my first surgery in my life, i was very scared to do any transformation with my body, but after breastfeeding two children, I was unhappy with my breast. On my first appointment with Dr. Kim and his team, I immediately felt at ease and Confident ; ready to start my new journey. They ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I am so glad I chose dr. Kim as my surgeon, and would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Dr. Kim always provides the best experience to his patients! He listens to exactly what the patient wants while also providing his professional expertise to make sure of the best outcome. There's nobody I'd trust more with my face than Dr. Kim- highly recommend!

I got a consultation with Dr. Kim after losing 175 pounds and wanting a solution for the excess skin around my abdomen. He made me feel comfortable at all times and the surgery was an absolute success. I could not be happier with the end result. NWM hospital has its' demerits but that should not take away in the slightest from the wonderful results and treatment I received from Dr. Kim and his nursing team.

At first Dr. Kim was very soft and kind, but after my double mastectomy reconstruction surgery, he left me in an emotional distress and feeling broken. My breasts are uneven, and he made me feel like it was my fault. I’ve seen other reconstructive surgeons years after healing and they’ve all said it should be fixed when Dr. Kim said that my breasts are good as they can get. I don’t appreciate that Dr. Kim made it out to be my fault and they can’t be fixed when other surgeons said it should be corrected. Please do your research.

I recently had a Facelift/Neck Lift Surgery by Dr. Kim. I look and feel like a new person. Dr. Kim did an excellent job! My neck was sagging and had wrinkles which was really bothering me. I also had lines and some deep folds around my jawline and mouth. I am so happy with the outcome! Dr. Kim and his staff have been so kind and helpful through this process.

Months after the surgery not a day goes by without me sending blessings and good wishes to Dr.John Kim. Thanks for his talent and skills, I move lighter , look better and happier than ever . Dr Kim was referred to me years ago after my 1st c section for my 2nd c section. I keloid scar and my 1st c section scar was so awful my ob/gyn said if Dr Kim closed me up for my 2nd c section, it would be a near certainty that it would be perfection, due to his extreme precision and skill. Regrettably, my 2nd c section was an emergency and Dr Kim did not close my incision as planned. I didn’t get a 2nd or more opinions when I decided on a tummy tuck. I just remembered what I was told years ago - only Dr Kim should do the work, there is no one better, he is the best. Finally, 12 years after my 2nd c section, I’m 9 months post tummy tuck, muscle repair, lipo, and fat transfer with Dr Kim. I had no complications and my ob/gyn was right. My tummy tuck scar did not keloid and I don’t think any other surgeon could have done better. It is almost as if he waved a magic wand and I somehow have my pre baby body back. He and his entire office are so lovely and I‘m thrilled!

I am a healthy 22-year-old female who has struggled with my breasts sagging since high school. It doesn't run in my genetics, and the sagging intensified quickly. Before my surgery with Dr. Kim, my breasts were down to my elbows, which is very debilitating when you're so young. It affected my everyday life and my self-esteem. I saved up incredibly hard and long and looked for the best, most natural, and incredibly talented surgeon out there, and Dr. Kim is the one that I found. I'm not going to lie, it is crazy-expensive. But what you pay for is what you get, and Dr. Kim has not only completely changed the shape of my breasts, but he greatly improved my quality of life. It's easy for somebody to think that is a dramatic statement if they've never experienced a situation that affects their body/self-esteem before, but chances are if you're reading this, you do understand the struggle. I could not recommend Dr. Kim and his staff more.

I have waited 30+ years since my son was born to have a tummy tuck with liposuction. For the past 6 months, I have met with multiple plastic surgeons looking for the perfect one for me and I found that in Dr. Kim. From the day I had my consultation to the moment after surgery, I knew that I was in great hands and Dr. Kim was going to provide the very best results and care and I was not disappointed. In fact, the results are beyond my expectations from the first day home from surgery. I am 6 weeks post-op today and look and feel absolutely amazing...........better than I did 30+ years ago before having my first child. Not only is Dr. Kim an amazing artist (he did fantastic things during surgery for me), but his staff is the best of the best. I could not recommend Dr. John Kim and staff enough.

I want to give him ZERO stars. Dr. Kim was the WORST! I'll never forget how he added to my trauma after I had lymph node mapping on my nose for melanoma on April 4, 2007. Lymph node mapping has to be done without anesthesia, and it was straight up torture before the surgery on my nose--it was 5 injections that felt like 5 balls of fire on my nose. I returned from lymph node mapping distraught from the torture and the cancer, and I (only) said ""This shouldn't be happening." He, with no sympathy whatsoever, said "If you're going to yell/be upset, I'm not going to operate on you." He was cruel beyond belief.

What an amazing experience I have had with Dr. Kim and his entire staff. They were very patient with my timeline which was a course of a few years before I could commit to a major surgery. They are extremely patient with questions and make sure you have the comfort and confidence with making decisions like this. In the end, I am almost 4 months post op and I am extremely satisfied with my results and I continue to heal!

So I don't mean to come off as over-dramatic in this review, but working with Dr. Kim and team was truly the best experience I could have ever asked for.. and I'll do my best to explain why. The BA process can be a daunting one, but Dr. Kim and team helped alleviate the stress by walking me through every detail at the initial consultation. A few weeks leading up to the surgery, I went in another time because I couldn't figure out what size I wanted. (Thank you Paige for being so patient with me!) I ended up deciding on a size and they ordered a couple additional sizes to see what would fit best on my body. The day of the surgery I was running a bit late, but Dr. Kim and team's bedside manner was top notch throughout. Due to COVID restrictions - I couldn't have anyone with me in the recovery room, but I felt comfortable knowing I was in good hands. I did my research into the top surgeons in Chicago and most specifically Northwestern doctors. Had a few consults and although all were impressive in their own right, Dr Kim stood out. His after photos speak for themselves, straight tummy tuck scars, natural breasts. He is extremely conservative with risk, professional and informative. Also, if you are looking for a "mommy makeover" he does more of this than anything, which is what you want in a surgeon. My husband is a physician and Dr Kim was hands down his pick for me. Traveled out of state (during a pandemic) and was worth every added inconvenience to ultimately get the best results. Felt safe, well cared for at Northwestern women's hospital (Prentice). Only a few weeks out and transformation is exciting! Dr Kim and his staff are very kind, patient and quick to respond to any questions or needs. Could not have asked for more!

I want to be helpful to anyone considering cosmetic surgery and Dr. Kim. Plastic Surgery is costly; takes time, effort and support of other people to help and care for you as you recover. I trust my mother, my husband, and Dr. Kim all the same. They have my best interest and I’m grateful to have that level of trust in a surgeon. I’ve had multiple procedures performed by Dr Kim. 2 breast reductions / augmentation and 1 tummy tuck. Genetically my skin elasticity has been garbage. Dr. Kim thoughtfully takes into account proportions of my entire body to come up with the art & science that goes into plastic surgery. Recovery: Breast reduction and implant recovery is like 2 days before back to desk job. Tummy tuck is no joke took me about 20 weeks to feel comfortable to lift at the gym. But the results are incredible - like abs of a teenager, insane really. Scaring: as I've had multiple procedures over the year the scaring is extremely minimal given the amount of skin being removed.

I had a great experience with Dr. Kim for my first cosmetic surgical procedure. I felt well taken care of by the entire staff from beginning to end and am so happy with the results so far.

I saw Dr. Kim for injections last year and was very impressed with my results. I really enjoyed my overall experience and how welcoming his staff was. I decided to come see him again in August due to recurring issues with my breast implants that worsened with time. I presented him with a very difficult case of a ruptured implant, distorted breast and an uneven chest wall that I was born with. Needless to say symmetry was out of the question. I am not quite sure how Dr. Kim did what he did but he made the impossible possible. My breasts are beautiful and absolutely perfect. He is truly an artist and I am forever grateful for him and his brilliant mind.

From start to finish my experience with Dr. Kim and staff was absolutely incredible. I had a breast augmentation and had 5 different consultations in Chicago. Ultimately, I chose Dr. Kim because of 1. his ability to listen and understand what I was looking for 2. his knowledge and skills with the breast 3. the efficiency, respect, kindness of him and his staff. By day 3 post-op, I was in zero pain and moving about my daily life and I truly believe that is because he is an incredible surgeon. I had my breast augmentation, Brazilian butt lift with lipo 360 and most recently lip fillers done with Dr.Kim. I chose him because of how honest, patient, and caring he was. He was all about doing what was safe and best for my body while trying to achieve my goals. He was very accepting and non-judgmental of my goals. His pricing is great. On the lower end of all of the consultations I went to and that included the hospital fee. It’s been almost a year now and I healed wonderfully. I’m very happy with the results. Dr.Kim and all of his staff are amazing. They are all patient, caring, and personable. I will definitely continue all of my cosmetic needs with Dr. Kim.

I was transferred from dermatology to plastic surgery for stitches to be placed. By the time I arrived to plastic surgery, my anesthetic had completely worn off and I was in a lot of pain. Dr. Kim squeezed my incision multiple times to demonstrate the direction he was going with my stitches (which was completely unnecessary.) At that point, I started crying due to the pain. Dr. Kim did not have any type of bedside manner at all, and did not comment on my emotion or offer any pain solutions. He delivered new information on how my facial appearance might change after the stitches with no affect whatsoever. I didn't feel he had any concern for my feelings or level of pain. The injections of anesthetic were extremely painful after a 10 hr day of my head being cut into, and I wish some type of topical numbing agent had been offered first. With better communication and pain control, a traumatizing experience could have been a manageable one. As an aside, my nurse was completely wonderful.

I had a breast lift with small implant to restore my very deflated breasts (post-multiple pregnancies with extended nursing each time). I am only a few weeks post-surgery but they look great, very natural. Dr. Kim ended up doing fewer incisions then we initially planned as decided they weren't necessary and that way was able to minimize scarring. I was a little nervous about doing it as I never thought I'd have plastic surgery but I'm very happy with the results.

I can't say enough about Dr. Kim, he's a very kind genius. He was patient, candid and honest with all inquiries at my consult. He corrected a botched surgery I'd had years ago and the results are far beyond my expectations. He works so incredibly hard for his patients. His entire team is friendly and most importantly, knowledgable. I don't know that I have the proper words to express how much Dr. Kim has impacted my life for the better by correcting a years-old botched disaster.

I had a deformation on my left breast from a childhood illness. After some plastic surgery and implant almost 40 years ago. That implant ruptured and had to be replaced. I have seen a plastic surgent who recommended Dr. Kim saying he was the best of reconstructive surgery. That is absolutely true! Dr. Kim is an artist of reconstructive surgery. I cannot be happier with the result.

Dr Kim and the rest of the Northwestern Medicine outpatient surgical staff are just awesome! I had silicone breast implants from another plastic surgeon / LA, CA. I flew all the way to Chicago to have it removed by Dr Kim as my gut was telling me there’s something wrong with those implants. True enough, Dr Kim later told me those implants were about to rupture and that we removed just in time. Believe it or not, I felt calm the entire time..like an angel watching over me

Dr. Kim is amazing! My breast augmentation could not have been gone better. I started with a size 32AA before the surgery. I am now currently sized at a 32D. Going into the surgery I fully trusted Dr. Kim's work, but I had major concerns that my breasts would look really fake since I was doing such a major change in size. My breasts look perfect and most people can't even tell I had work done because of how natural they set on me. I also have very minimal scarring thanks to Dr. Kim's technique. I am so much more confident since my surgery and I could not be happier with my results.

In April 2018, I had an abdominoplasty and breast lift with augmentation. My before and afters were incredible!! Although it was a major improvement, I unfortunately had quite a bit of scaring. Everyone's body heals differently and Dr. Kim had me schedule scar revision. I am so appreciative that he saw that my results could be even better. He takes his time and really wants his patients to be happy with their results. He and the rest of the staff have always made me feel very comfortable during my appointments. I am beyond thrilled with the results I am seeing after my scar revision!!! Having surgery is scary and during the healing process it's very comforting to know that I have a caring staff to contact that always responds so quickly.

Dr Kim is a winner! He and his friendly, caring staff are the best!! He did my breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. It is perfect! Other doctors who see it compliment his artwork! After my mastectomy, I saw Dr. Kim to do reconstructive surgery. It was the best decision I ever made. He was exceptionally caring and sensitive. Dr. Kim took a great deal of time explaining the options for reconstruction and the pros and cons of each. There was no rush and I was encouraged to ask questions. After the surgery and at all following visits, Dr. Kim was equally as caring and open to answering any questions and concerns I had. I cannot image a choice more capable and caring than Dr. John Kim.

Took my mother and girlfriend to Dr. Kim. Hands down the most professional experience that we/they could have experienced. From the receptionists to the nurses, everyone involved made us feel extremely comfortable and catered towards their needs. Dr. Kim is an absolute artist. You can tell that he is a master of his craft within every aspect of plastic surgery and aesthetics. He listened to their concerns, their wants, and their goals and offered the best advice. When it comes to honest doctors that will do the absolute best for their patients, recommend only what they truly believe will help rather than try to line their pockets from unnecessary products or procedures, John Kim is paramount.

During a worrisome time, it meant everything to be in the hands of the very best. Dr. Kim is not only a talented master surgeon, he is also caring. I first emailed him on a Friday; he got back to me on Sunday and, understanding the urgency of the situation, had arranged for appointments within the next two days! I had breast augmentation surgery 21 years ago with a different doctor. After that length of time there were some repairs that needed to be made. Dr. Kim was recommended to me by my sister in law. Dr.Kim, Monica, Patsy, and the rest of the staff was AMAZING. I decided to go with Dr.Kim because he did my mothers surgery. Words really can't express how much I appreciate Dr.Kim and his staff. Dr. Kim is absolutely the very best. I met with several surgeons for breast reduction consults. Everywhere felt very cold and impersonal. Dr. Kim was a bit busy and had a wait for his next open consult. I knew immediately he was the right doctor for me. His team was amazing. From consult, to insurance approval- denial, pre-surgery tests, the surgery, and post-op follow ups. I have felt taken care of every step of the way! Dr. Kim takes his work very seriously and is a perfectionist. He is truly an artist. He listened to what I wanted, took time to explain my options and responded to my follow up questions right away. My recovery was seamless and pain was minimal. I was able to stop taking narcotic pain meds within 48 hours postop. I had a breast lift with replacement of saline implants with silicone implants. My overall experience with Dr. Kim and all of his staff was very positive. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Kim is professional, very specific in explaining procedures and patient when answering any questions. Perfectionist in achieving ultimate end result. Very personable and easy to talk to.

I went to Dr. Kim as a Breast cancer patient. He had to do a reconstruction for a left mastectomy and right augmentation. I was lopsided. My left breast being higher than the right. He expanded me too much where I couldn't have a nipple constructed. When asked sometime later to correct lift the right side to even my breats, he performed surgery and my breasts are still uneven. He even swapped put my implant without my consent. Poor poor ethics

Dr. Kim was OUTSTANDING!!! His office staff was just as amazing and the day of surgery staff made the entire process so easy and relaxing. My results are everything I wanted and more. I met with a few BA surgeons before going with Dr. Kim (I even put down a deposit with another and lost $500 in the process - worth it!). I would recommend Dr. Kim over and over!
