About Dr. John David Kayal
Reviews for Dr. John David Kayal
Last month I came in to address bags under my eyes. The Dr. recommended filler, and his nurse/aesthetician brought me the costs. He told me it would be a series of 2 treatments for $740. One today, and one in 4 weeks. I specifically clarified that the payment would be for 2 treatments and was told yes, so I paid. Fast forward 4 weeks and Kayal tells me both treatments are not included and that they "misspoke". I told him that was disappointing, and I would not be paying him more money ,and I walked out. This guy chased me down the hall, got 1 inch from my face like he wanted to fight me, and yelled at me how I was disrespectful because "I am a Doctor!" he proudly proclaimed. (He wanted to ensure that I knew he was better than me and everyone else in the office.) Then he told me to get out of his office. This guy is laughable and I'm sure he treats his staff just as poorly, because "I am a Doctor!" Avoid at all costs.
Last month I asked to get filler for my cleft chin. I specifically said cleft chin. The doctor said that I need a botulinum toxin injection, not filler, so he gave me that instead. The appearance of the cleft chin never changed. I researched it some more and every cosmetic specialist said that a cleft chin can only be fixed with filler. When I went to the follow-up consultation, they acknowledged that I need filler, but said I would have to pay hundreds of dollars for an entire syringe (in addition to the unnecessary botulinum toxin injection which was hundreds of dollars). I shouldn't have to pay for another syringe if they gave me the wrong injection the first time...He said he didn't even know what a "cleft chin" was but proceeded to inject me anyways. His inept office ignored me and then months later LIED to me about what happened. Unbelievable.

Dr Kayal did a biopsy on my neck and did a horrible job. I had basal cell cancer and came in for the procedure to get the basal cancer out of my neck. Dr Kayal did the worst cutting and gluing together the long zagged and lumpy cut on my neck !!! It has been a very traumatic experience and I have been very up set over it. He then suggested I have Dermabrasion to correct his lumpy mess . I will never give anyone a recommendation to see him for any kind of procedure. He has lost me as a patient !!
Kayal is nice enough but I was hoping to be given some more holistic advice about stopping my hair loss. I prefer to focus on healing from the inside out while supplementing with prescriptions and supplements if necessary… Additionally, the most unpleasant portion of the appointment was an interaction with one of his nurses (short, caucasian, round, with curly brunette hair). When I posed a possible explanation for my hair loss as given by another physician, she was incredulous and quite visibly offended that I implied the doctor’s explanation could be wrong. I’m not sure what induced her to respond in this tone. Management would do well to examine her personal attitudes toward patients. Kayal was in the room at the time and I’m curious as to whether or not he took notice of her response because it was obviously unprofessional. The rest of the staff seemed friendly.
Long time patient although I've never met Dr Kayal as I've always seen his PA's. I recently discovered a spot on the back of my leg that was determined as basil cell. I scheduled a MOH's Surgery procedure to get that removed. The day before my procedure was scheduled the nurse texted me and explained since I had not reached my deductible for the year, I would need to be prepared to pay $2118.00 as my out-of-pocket expense for this procedure. I immediately asked them to cancel the appt as I was not prepared to pay that kind of money out of pocket. I called my insurance carrier who explained that Dr Kayal has a "contracted price" for this procedure of $159.57. The insurance carrier called Dr. Kayal's office and asked why they would charge me $2118.00 for doing what they are contracted to charge me $159.57 and she explained that it could be a more "complicated procedure" but wouldn't know until they started working on me. I'm sure it would be $2118.00 This is just wrong!!!
I would not go to this doctor again. My partner went to have a bump under her skin looked at. Dr. Kayal told her he would remove it right there in the office and that it was a "very simple procedure." She asked 2-3 times about whether or not insurance would cover it. He did not check, but told her it definitely should. Also, called it "simple" again. She received a bill for $496 from the office and another from the lab $82. This was after insurance. On the doctor's description of the procedure he wrote it up as "repair complex ......" Truly sad that you can't trust so many medical professionals these days. Maybe $500 is nothing for him, but for the average person, it's something. She would not have done the procedure if she knew that. It was a noncancerous, non harmful, bump under the skin. In fact, after he took it out (before even sending it off to lab), he said "oh it's just scar tissue."
I have been going to this office for a couple of years. Although I have not been dissatisfied with the people in the office, I do find it annoying that they send me to the lab for new blood work just about every time I go. I have been on the same medication for literally 20 years, and have never had lab results that were abnormal in any way. It's their way of making more money, even though they are quite expensive as it is. They seem to have a very high turnaround in their employees- It would be nice to have some consistency with who treats you. I finally decided to switch dr's when they took a biopsy of the side of my nose. I didn't see anything unusual there, but didn't feel comfortable saying no since he seemed to think there was the possibility of cancer somewhere there. Of course, it was fine- no cancer- but I do have a little less nose on that side AND they scheduled me for some plastic surgery in that spot without asking me. That was weird. I no longer trust them.
Professional, friendly and timely care. I’ve been going to Dr. Kayal and his clinic for nearly 4 years, I’ve found he and his PAs absolutely outstanding. I’d definitely recommend Dr. Kayal and his clinic.
In my experience with Dr Kayal over many years, he has been exceptional in taking my best interest and skin care needs to a higher level. He recognizes areas of concern then delivers the best solutions that work. His latest suggestion was the PICO Genesis laser which has transformed my skin. I can’t tell you how transformative this procedure was. Alex who performed the treatment was exceptional. I am getting a second treatment on another area of my body for age spots. I’m overwhelmed with how happy I am with results. I had given up ever thinking I could treat this problem until Dr Kayal gave me hope. He’s so thorough and interested in your welfare you feel it when he talks to you. He will always be my go to dermatologist! Great staff as well.
Best dermatology office ever! They really know what they are doing. Whole staff is awesome!
I had a skin tag removed. The procedure was quick and totally painless. I would definitely recommend his office to friends and family.
Always friendly, coordinations among staff, friendly, and Dr. Kayal is amazing. You feel as though you are the only patient there. Prompt, explains procedures or treatments; never rushes!
Dr. Kayal, was awesome. He was spot on with my diagnosis. I wasn't show what was on my skin. But Dr. Kayal, assure me that it wasn't anything to worry about. Thank you Dr. Kayal!!
I had a body scan by Sydney today. She was very thorough and professional as well as caring. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a scan. She also helped me with a couple of issues with my toenails. Thanks, for your help Sydney!
The front staff was welcoming. It’s a very peaceful office. I was seen by the PA Sydney. She was fantastic; thorough, knowledgeable and kind and skillful as well. Her assistant Tiffany was attentive and provided with all the information I needed
I was a bit surprised when I was charged $105 for a 10 minute appointment that was a cancer screen. More than likely won’t be back due to cost.
Quality work : )
Had a small mole removed and now have a 4x0.75 inch scar. I never met Dr Kayal in my multiple visits to the clinic and my back was butchered by his PA.
Very nice staff and Quality service
Dr Kayal is very unprofessional. I went for tattoo removal on my neck and the Dr did surgery for the removal, leaving me with a terrible scar on my neck very visible and even left extra skin at the end of the suture. I even called him before the surgery because I decided to do a little more research on the procedure because it clearly says to not do it in visible areas because you will always have a scar and when I called him a few days before surgery he assured me that the scar would not be not
I went to Dr. Kayal with a specific rash and was so impressed not only with the immediate results which were positive and completely took away the rash but the level of client-centric service was amazing to include the professionalism, courteousness etc. To put it in simple words, Dr. Kayal, Joel (PA) and Austin (Medical Assistant) were all top notch and caring to include his staff. Please keep up the great work and you can count on me returning if need be.
I highly recommend Dr. Kayal. His work is wonderful and have always had a great experience with him and his staff. Not sure why some reviews say what they say but you cannot go wrong with this practice. He is caring, compassionate and very thorough an explains everything so I can understand. Thank you Dr. I will be returning!
Unforgivably long wait time. I had to wait for one hour and when requested to cancel the appointment, the receptionist went inside and returned with an answer that it won't take more than few minutes. So I decided to wait for few more minutes and then, they placed me in a consulting room saying that the doctor will see me as soon as possible. I'm still waiting for any one to show up. It's 1.5 hours from my scheduled appointment.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr Kayals office. I have been a patient there for many years. Everyone there is so friendly, knowledgeable from the front office to the back. The providers have all taken their time with me and the office staff is great. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.
Would highly recommend this office. Both the PAs and the doctor are very knowledgeable and have been able to help me with multiple skin conditions over the years.
Love this office and Dr. Kayal is such a great Doctor! So far I have had to have a pre-cancerous and a basal cell carcinoma removed. He got them both in one treatment and you can't even see the scars now. My whole family goes to Kayal Dermatology. A+++
I like Kayal Dermatology for the easy access with my other doctors in Marietta and the friendly staff. I would recommend this practice because when you leave the office you are satisfied with the outcome.
Dr. Kayal's office is beautiful. All the staff that assisted with me were helpful and welcoming. The PA's and Dr. are knowledgeable and I will definitely be back.
I had such a pleasant experience at Dr. Kayal's beautiful new office. I was seen promptly and every staff member I encountered was not only helpful but very caring. I will be referring this office to all my friends, family and to anyone I know that needs a dermatologist.
Went to see Dr. K. and his team for help with some skin issues. Worked with Dr. K himself as well as the Esthetician on several regimes. I've been in and out of treatment for quite some time . My Doctor Medical group has an excellent, compassionate and extremely dedicated staff who are incredibly knowledgeable about the latest cutting edge treatments and therapies. I credit them with helping me get from a horrific problem with my skin to where I am today!!!
No idea about these reviews other than people not knowing about derm. I have had the best experience in the last year with the PAs and Dr Kayal. I went in for acne, and was given product recommendations and prescriptions. (That I LOVE) I had a problem with a prescription being too expensive, (which is NOT the doctors fault!) and when I called they immediately sent in an alternate. My skin cancer check was a 2nd appt because of insurance often denying 2 things, which makes sense! Love them!
Dr. Kayal made for a fantastic experience! The office is so nice and clean and the staff was very nice and helpful! What should've been a nerve-wracking visit turned out to be a breeze. I'll be back!
Was referred here by urgent care for a rash and was very impressed by not only the staff but by the office atmosphere. I saw one of the physician assistants who was very thorough and genuine about my skin condition. Dr. Kayal even came and introduced himself and welcomed me to his practice. I definitely recommend this place.
Staff has always been very friendly and accommodating on scheduling my appointments. Dr. Kayal is very easy to talk to and explains conditions and treatments in a way that is very easy to understand. He puts patient care first. Excellent office, HIGHLY recommended!
I had a very pleasant experience at Kayal dermatology, Talley who is a PA there is an excellent provider and very well informed PA. Her MA is very well informed also and prompt with patient care. The office staff is very friendly and the new building is a beautiful site!

Went with dry skin on my face and a mole on my scalp. Walked out with DEEP Shavings. Only to be told, now the more expensive surgery is necessary to repair what they did. Get a second opinion before allowing them to deep cut on your body.

As best as I can tell Kayal has a habit of taking deliberately small margins on simple mole removals to essentially guarantee a more involved next visit if the lab work comes back with concerns. I have seen this on more then one occasion from him. On my last visit he left about 80% of a problematic mole. I noticed right then while he was still in the room, and was reassured that no he got it “all”. Avoid this Dr if you can. Unless you just like going in for extra avoidable visits.
The staff is great, but Dr. Kayal is only interested in pushing expensive products and procedures. He is intrusive and rude and has no qualms about suggesting procedures to "fix" problems HE has with your appearance. Several times now he has given me completely unsolicited advice concerning how he would "fix" problem areas never identified by me as areas of concern or dissatisfaction. Zero bed side manner and way too aggressive for me.
Be ready to be upsold on a bunch of procedures that you don't need. I'm only 40; I don't need $2000 in face injections. Not the place to go if you're on a budget. Pricing is super high based on the area and market. They offered me an incentive/points program of sorts, but no staff members were familiar with the program or could explain it to me. The receptionist was really personable, but all the other staff had zero bed side manner. I won't be going back.

Made an appointment for my daughter for 2 problems eczema and acne. We saw a PA who said we could only have one problem addressed. Spent no more than 10 minutes in the room, didn't even touch her face or examined her and got charged for a level 3 visit! I am a physician but did not disclose that to that office. Worst costumer service ever

Awe are very disappointed with this practice. I made my husbands appointment and specifically told them he needed a mole removed from his face. He arrived this am and never saw the doctor and was told the doctor did not do this They should have told me on the phone I would have called another doctor He will go back for follow up and then we are done with this practice.
Underwhelmed. Diagnosis was quick. The PA did not look directly at skin, just glanced, and determined needs in under five minutes. All prescriptions were too expensive (over $100 each). Dr. was out of town. I went elsewhere, for a second opinion - during the exam they found a pre-cancerous spot on my face that Dr. Kayal's office may have noticed had the exam been thorough. Unfortunate.
Dr. Kayal has been my dermatologist for quite a few years. I have been pleased with Dr. Kayal; however his office staff is not well trained. This situation has deteriorated to intolerable at the new Lacey Street office. I hope this can be corrected soon.

It appears that Dr. Kayal has invested a lot into providing pleasant surroundings and a comfortable experience for his patients. He is a very friendly person and comes across as very confident and professional. His staff is great and help by explaining what's going on and answering questions.

Excellent experience with the initial appointment with the PA. Nightmare going forward. He performs unnecessary procedures. Staff does not return calls. It has been horrible.
