I had 1 hip and both knees replaced. I would not trust anyone else. Dr.Irving gave me my lively hood and life back.

Dr. Irving, Jaclyn Ryan, his Physician Assistant, and his staff communicated clearly, and were most helpful and respectful. The surgery was a great success and my pain was significantly reduced almost immediately. With the help of Physical Therapy, I am well on the way to regaining my pre-osteoarthritis activity level. I could not be more satisfied.

I found Dr Irving to be just what a good Dr should be. Spent a consideable amount of time to answer all of my questions and concerns. Very pleasent speaking with him while at the same time he was making sure I was comfortable and understood.

I had both knees done in 2022. Dr Irving was terrific and because of his knowledge and expertise my knees are perfect. I was quite pleased with the overall experience.His staff and Jackie were great. Would highly recommend them. Dr Irving is the "KING" of knee surgeries. "PERFECTION"

Dr. Irving replaced my right knee on March 16th of this year! I am thrilled with the results now 12 weeks later! I am having my left knee replaced this Monday June 20th and can’t wait ! Dr. Irving is friendly knowledgeable courteous and professional!

Office is easy to get to, comfortable and people treat you with kindness and professionalism. The visit was thorough and detailed providing good feedback to me for how best to move forward with my ailment. Everything was done in a prompt and timely fashion.

Dr. Irving and his Milford office support staff and St. Vincent hospital support staff were absolutely the best right down to the smallest detail, thank you!!!!!

Everything ran smoothly. I was well taken care of. Each question was answered.

The staff at the Milford office were very pleasant. The front staff as well as the X-ray technician were all helpful. Dr Irving was thorough, personable, great manners and very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain all options to my husband and myself. He took a great deal of time with me and I didn’t feel like he was rushing me out the door as many others have. I wish I had met him sooner.

I was treated with respect throughout the appointment process. Wait time for the actual appointment was a bit long, but understandable under the current pandemic restriction conditions. I am thrilled with the intake process because they actually “listened” to my health history, although it was obvious they were a bit rushed at times. They responded well to a subtle, gentle verbal nudge to slow down a bit here and there. It was fair enough though and I am glad to have experienced a productive and highly informative visit. They actually spend the time to educate you and provide options. Both Rachel and Dr. Irving have an exemplary bedside manner. Dr. Irving clearly has extensive experience and education, which made for a highly informative and enlightening visit. After suffering for 10 solid months of excruciating pain with no diagnosis or prognosis, Dr. Irving made a significant and positive difference for me moving forward. I am glad my friends recommended him. Truly grateful. TY!

I had a really positive experience with Dr. Irving and this practice. I went in to better understand and get some relief for knee pain that's been bothering me for years. Using xray and MRI results, Dr. Irving was able to diagnose me and explain what was going on really well. He did not talk down to me or skirt the truth, but he was kind and warm and helpful as well. Dr.Irving was as thorough and attentive as I had hoped and expected.

I was in and out in a timely manner and the staff were very nice. Dr Irving explained things very clearly and addressed my issue right then. All in all it was an excellent experience

Despite the pressures to run a busy office in these Covid-19 days, my 20 minute early arrival posed them no difficulty in attending to me promptly & no muss/no fuss. Everyone at Connecticut Orthopaedics seems down to Earth; personable, polite and helpful.

I was very impressed with the customer service and the staff's professionalism. I appreciated that Dr. Irving and his PA listened. Gave direction for treatment and let me decide how to proceed.

Josh the MA was very thorough and Dr. Irving spent a good amount of time going over my recent procedure, progress and recommendations. They both really listened and it was a positive experience.

I made an appointment and was seen much quicker than I thought it would take me to get in! I arrived to find the Hamden office operating very efficiently. Patients flowed through a very organized check in process. My appointment was on time and Dr Irving was very thorough and answered all my questions and concerns.

I love Dr. Irving, his staff, his offices, and the overall sense of comfort and professionalism. Always thorough, never a sense of being rushed, always good advice. And this time, a much-needed and appreciated explanation of the surgery steps before, during, and after. Perfect! Left with a sense of well-being and confidence in the process.

One star for staff as they are very unprofessional. And to call them Patient Advocates is a stretch at best. Any doctor who would keep them on staff, you should avoid like COVID 19.

Shattered my Mom's Femur, he said never happened before. Had to wire together haphazardly, had to get the right hip replacement part rushed in from Hartford. Nightmare for Mom and family. Infections yearly eventually took her life. BEWARE

This is was my initial meeting with Dr, Irving for hip replacement surgery. Dr, Irving was personable and took the time to explain the procedure in detail. He answered all of my questions including prep, procedure and recovery.

My experience with Dr. Irving has been wonderful. The Bi-lateral Knee Surgery went well and I have absolutely no joint pain for the first time in years.

Dr. Irving and his staff are as good as it gets. I have been a patient of his for about eight(8) years. Have had two(2) total hip replacements and walk better than I have in years. I couldn't possibly rate any doctor or staff any higher than Dr. Irving .

Everyone is very pleasant, caring and efficient. All questions and concerns listened to and addressed. I highly recommend Dr. Irving (Best ortho doctor around!) and his staff for their exceptional personalized care. Entire process pre and post surgery was smooth with staff readily available guiding and assisting as needed.

Dr. John Irving is an excellent surgeon and is rated as top Doc. His staff is very professional and his surgical procedures are top notch and less invasive and recovery time is much quicker. He comes highly recommended and if I could give him more than 5 stars, I would.

Dr. Irving was recommended to me by a family member. I am very happy that I chose Dr. Irving to treat me for my osteoarthritis. I recently had a bilateral full knee replacement. I am so happy with my surgery and my recovery.

I have known Dr. Irving for several years now. He has performed successful hip replacement surgery on both of my hips and I have recommended other people to his practice who have been equally happy with the results. I have found Dr. Irving and his staff extremely efficient, wonderful to work with, and always willing to answer any questions.

I saw Dr. Irving about hip and knee pain and with an exam and new exrays he determined that the pain is all coming from a lower back issue that remains unresolved. We discussed medication options and settled on one to try. In addition to Dr. Irving’s larger-than-life reputation for expertise, I personally value his ability to truly listen to my concerns and to respond in a concerned, caring manner.

I have had one knee and two hip replacements and one hip revision with Dr. Irving and APA Shannon Hardy. The have my greatest confidence and I have recommended The Orthopaedic Group to several persons over the past five years. Professional; very much so, but, equally as important to me, really nice people who care about my joint replacement condition and overall well being.

Dr. Irving I had met you probably for a total of 30 minutes and during this encounter I already knew you were the most competent and compassionate doctor I had met over the years. I've just had my second surgery with Dr. Irving my hip 7 years ago and my knee last January. Both experiences far surpassed any preconceptions i might have had about replacement surgery. Dr Irving's confident attitude was backed up totally by the excellence of both of my surgeries. And to have Doctor with a sense of humor on top only made it better. The staff he works with at Milford hospital kept me comfortable and the stay as good as possible..

Had a hip replacement year and a half ago! Operation went perfect and so was the recovery. No issues and full use of hip! Dr Irving was great and so was his entire staff. Followup has been very good too! Happy I had it down.

My dad has had several knee surgeries by Dr. Irving one being a complicated knee revision. He is doing great and now enjoys many of the activities that he could not do before the surgeries. His stay at Milford hospital was wonderful and he praised the experience. He often recommends his family and friends to see Dr. Irving if they need to be evaluated for hip or knee arthritis.

I had hip replacement surgery in Nov. 2017. I was scared, of course, but after meeting with Dr, Irving, all my fears vanished. I was in constant pain 24/7, unable to do anything especially walk--my leg hurt from groin to ankle. After the surgery, I was "cured". What a difference---I can do anything now pain-free. Unbelievable, difference. I would NOT hesitate to do it again. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Irving--he is a "miracle worker"...very caring & highly knowledgeable. Just one of the BEST

Stay away! but...... if want an office that schedules the wrong type of appointment just to call and cancel or reschedule, or a Dr who never calls back a week later (still waiting) or a full hip replacement with pain that never went away,or Staff that is rude, than this is the place for you.

Dr. Irving has done both of my hips. My VA physicians kept telling me to wait because of my age. I was getting more and more debilitated. I was unable to enjoy life and recreation. I saw Dr. Irving for my first hip a few years ago and had my second hip done last year. I couldn't be doing any better. I am playing goalie on a hockey team three nights a week! The Milford Hospital joint center cannot be beat. The cleanliness and the nursing care are outstanding. Can't say enough about Dr. Irving..

I highly recommend Dr. Irving to anyone considering hip replacement. He and his staff, including Milford Hospital, made the entire experience positive, easy, and above all, successful. Three weeks after the surgery I was out and about, including rehearsing for a show; by six weeks I could ride my bike; by 8 weeks I was completely back into normal physical activities including water aerobics and yoga; and in the fourth month out from surgery I was playing tennis.

I had bilateral hip surgery and was back working in my barn in about 5 weeks. I am now riding horses again, ?? Dr Irving gave me my life back! ( thanks to Shannon too!)

Dr. Irving and his staff including out-patient physical therapy were efficient and concerned anout my evaluation and needs at each stage of postoperative hip replacement surgery. I was particularly impressed with the follow up calls from various staff which continued for the three months following surgery.

Dr. Irving and his staff are professional, competent and compassionate – the best! He replaced my left knee in 2012; in 2014 it developed a staph infection. Following debridement, he and my infectious disease dr. put me on antibiotic suppression therapy. It failed. On 4/12/17, he removed the prosthesis. My case is complicated; my reluctance for revision surgery made it more so, but he's confident I will be cured. Real recovery begins after I get another new knee - we hope in June. Stay tuned!

I am so grateful to Dr. Irving who gave me my fabulous new hip! I could hardly walk when I went to see Dr. Irving. It was amazing within a few weeks I was feeling great. He is compassionate and an extraordinary surgeon. I recommend him to anyone who is dealing with hip or knee problems. I plan on having a knee replacement this fall, and wouldn't consider any other doctor to do my surgery! Thank you so much Dr. Irving. Kelly G.

Dr. Irving has done bilateral total knee and hip surgeries over the years on me and has always treated me as a real person and not just a conveyor belt patient, next, nope; that's not Dr. Irving ! Not only is he a top notch surgeon, but a really great person himself. The last surgery he did for me, his office called me and asked if they could change my hip surgery date to the following day. It was because he wanted more time to work on me to get it corrected to the best if could be for me !!!!
