Dr Hinrichson has been seeing my son for 10 years and counting. My son loves going to see him. He is very friendly and explains everything so you can understand it

My 4 year had strabismus. We went to see Dr. H. He is great with the kids. The staff is professional. Be prepared to be there for 2-3 hours whether it’s an initial appointment or follow-up. It’s a very busy office but Dr. H is very, very good. Just have to be patient. Bring snacks and entertainment for the younger kids.

Been seeing doc hinrichsen since my daughter was 2 mths old she is 11 now. We love Dr H. Best eye doc around.

My son was a patient here for 13 years and I have 0 complaints. They are VERY thorough. Yes, it is a long office visit. Be prepared. Bring activities. Your child's eye sight is worth it.

My daughters appt was for 10:30am we got there at 9:50am and signed. When I tell You the office was packed from front to back. People standing up everywhere. Kids running all over the place. 11am come I get up And walk to the window to see how long will it be, she tells me the we are next. 12pm roll around we still waiting. 12:07pm they call us to back….. waited til 12:30 still No doc so I politely got my child and walked out got on the phone with insurance company to file a complaint. Warning!!!!!!!!! We have sit in this office for hours upon hours, they schedule appts 20 mins apart and only get you back every 3 hours!!!! We had to drive 3 hours from home to get to this doctor! And we left, they are rude and so very very unprofessional!!! Please please please DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH THIS OFFICE YOU WILL REGRET IT! There were 3 other people that walked out when we were there! We've always had a good experience when seeing the Dr's. They have made my 4 year old Great Niece comfortable with the Dr's, Nurse's and office staff. If I've had any issues or questions they've answered them in a timely manner. Thank y'all so much.

4 hour wait time and attitude when you ask if you were forgotten is just unacceptable

Dr is very patient and has all sorts of toys to keep kids distracted while examining their eyes. We’ve had 2 surgeries by John Hinrichsen and scheduled for a 3rd one next month. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my daughters eyes. Great doctor. Great office.

Expect a ridiculous wait time. We’ve never gotten out of there in less than 3 hours. We wait an hour and 15 minutes just for the assistant to ask us a few questions. Three hours later and we have yet to see the doctor. This is a poor way to run an office especially one that treats young, vulnerable children. The waiting area is gross and overcrowded. Somehow people who’ve arrive an hour+ after us are in and out.

My daughter had seen Dr Hinrichsen multiple times. Yes, his office is loud but it is tailored to children. My daughter lost her vision for 3 months due to a medication reaction. Dr Hinrichson monitored her return to vision and managed the appropriate medications throughout her healing. He is compassionate. His office staff are sensitive to the discomforts of eye drops and eye exams and work with children to make the experience as painless and easy as possible. Both his staff and he tales the time to address my daughter and listen to her concerns. We never feel rushed. I am appreciative of his skills.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Appointment was at 2 p.m. as I write this review it is 4:30!!! We have been back and forth from the waiting room twice! This is our 1st visit and if I can help it the LAST! They are overbooked! Not considering Covid-19 the waiting room is full no way to possibly adhere to social distancing when you are elbow to elbow! Absolutely HORRIBLE!! If I would have invited this doctor to my place of business, and made him sit and wait for 3.5 hours, I wonder what he would have to say....maybe things like, “I feel so disrespected that you would tell me to be here for a 9 am appointment but don’t really acknowledge me until 12”!!! Why wouldn’t you just have scheduled my appointment for 12!! “It seems like you value your own time more than your paying customers, the people that keep you in business”! I don’t care how good of a doctor you are, no person deserves to be treated this way! Follow the good book and “treat others the way you want to be treated”! Wait time is horrible. Not set up for covid-19. Chairs are close together and not 6 ft apart as recommended.

Dr Hinrichsen is fantastic, the administrative staff who answers the phones however is horrible.I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve called and they just pick up and hang up the phone (no hello or anything). Could really use some extra training on that end. Impossible to get ahold of anyone there BUT their answering service is awesome as long as you call when they aren’t open you can atleast leave a message with them. Dr. Hinrichsen is great with my daughter and I trust his professional judgement and opinion.

Dr. Hinrichsen helped us strengthen my 3 year old’s weaker eye with patching, before it got too bad. We love the clinic!

Wonderful office. We were referred here by our pediatrician. Helpful and easy to schedule with; appointment went well. Dr. Henrichson was great. Will definitely see them again if needed.

Our daughter sees Dr. Hinrichsen for estropia and nystagmus. He is very good with her and professional. She had correction surgery in February and can already tell her issues are mostly resolved. The office usually runs behind on appointment times though.

DR HINRICHSEN at Eye Docs For Kids at the Highland Clinic is the rudest, most unprofessional person i have met in a very long time, maybe ever. It is unfortunate that people take out their issues and personal problems out on other people especially in front of children and on his own patients at that! Our experience there today was shocking the way he treated us today at my daughters eye appointment. I pray I never treat people half as bad as he treated us today. I let this be example to my 6 year old daughters how not to ever be and that there are sad miserable people out there we need to stay away from. If he really hates others or his practice and is really that miserable he needs to be shut down!

Not pleased with this Dr at all

Upon my arrival, I was told that I had a $75 copay. I had NO idea that I would EVER have to pay this amount. Every other person who came in had a copay or $50 or less. My child is on her father’s insurance so that makes me responsible for the bill. I explained this to the receptionist. I only had $40. I thought this would be enough to cover the copay or that there would be none at all. The receptionist said that she would check with the doctor. A few min later, I was told that I would have to reschedule. Mind you, I had already taken of f from work. I guess it’s a business and the health care of the child is NOT the most important thing, even though I could’ve just been billed. I had to figure out a way so I need up using a credit card to pay the difference. At this point, I was highly upset, but I had to stay so I could make sure that my daughter got the help and assistance she needed. Staff are so friendly, they are wonderful with children. Arrived early, paperwork already done and turned in and waited 45 minutes before we were called back. Dr. Hendrickson has a great disposition and his staff is just wonderful!

Great Doctor. He did emergency surgery on my daughter this Friday no questions got her in and performed the opperation. Not only was he very thorough with explaining her condition he showed up on the Saturday befor Christmas to check up on her. Very pleased.

Refused to continue care for my infant after discovering the baby was seen by a pediatric dermatologist (per our pediatrician's recommendation) for a dermatological review of a condition that affects both the skin and eye. Horrible wait time!!! My appt was scheduled for 3:00 p.m. When I arrived, I was told that four people were ahead of me. Ok, so my appt time doesn't matter? Waited two plus hours to be seen. We will not be returning. If I was able to give this company no stars, I would.

Absolutely ridiculous!!! Waiting for over 2 hours in waiting room that is extremely LOUD & WILD. And only to see the eye doctor for 5-10 minutes? The staff seems nice enough, but if you can't handle the number of patients then DON'T SCHEDULE SO MANY IN THE SAME DAY. I would much rather wait another week or two for an appointment than to sit here all afternoon doing nothing. We will drive to Dallas before we come here again. My son is now 10 and has been going to Dr. Hinrichsen since he was 3. He had to have surgery on both eyes due to them not being straight. He has severe stigma in both eyes as well as far sighted. Dr. Hinrichsen has always be kind, informative and attentive. When he was 3 his surgery went great. We still go here. Yes it's busy in the office and crowded waiting room but they have expanded it since I've been coming. Everyone I have delt with has been friendly. The long wait is the reason for my 3 stars. They are great doctors

Dr. Hinrichson was amazing with my 4 year old. The rest of the staff was excellent with him as well. The clinic was clean, the waiting room was nice and calm, and we were seen quickly on a very busy day. Ignore any bad reviews you see. This place was great. Other reviewers are way off base and have unrealistic views of reality.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. We are military so this was the doctor that was given to us to go too for our son having an eye turn issue. Dr Hinrichsen was extremely patient with my 8 month old who wanted to keep grabbing all the thing places in front of his eyes. He was extremely good with him, it shocked me and my husband! The staff was friendly. We waited for a bit but that doesn't bother us they are a busy office, ppl need to learn to be patient. They are doing what they can. Not sure why all the bad reviews. This is a children’s eye doctor so the waiting area is filled with.....yes, children and they’re not always silent. My wife and I took our 5 month old daughter because her eyes were crossed. We were extremely impressed Dr. Hinrichsen he’s a pro. We were there a few hours but they were super busy, had to have our daughter’s eyes dilated then wait about 45 minutes before we went back. Wonderful doctor! Went in and found out my daughter had congenital cataracts. Operated about a week and a half later and she has been doing great since. Highly recommend. For the people saying the office is crazy, it’s a pediatric facility and this has kids. Some parents control their children better than others and that is no reflection on the doctor’s office. There is a quiet waiting room if you ask. Also, my wait time wasn’t bad, but even if it had been I wouldn’t have minded greatly. People travel to see the doctors in this office and I’m just thankful to have them as a part of our community! Wonderful doctor! Went in and found out my daughter had congenital cataracts. Dr. Hinrichsen performed my daughters first surgery when she was four months old. She had to have a second surgery a year later. He has been wonderful with her for the past six years. He is always proactive and diligent in taking care of our concerns. Great care!! My only complaint is the wait time in the office.

I called and set up an appointment for my son 2 months prior. I was asked the day I made it if he had insurance and I said yes and preceeded to tell them what insurance. The girl making the appointment said ok no problem just bring both cards with you. I took off work, drive a hour to the office only to have to deal with the rude receptionist. After being there for 30 minutes and filling out paperwork I was then informed they did not accept our insurance! What a waste of time and money!
