Dr. Gerstenmaier is awesome! The office staff is very rude. I’ve found also from other people that if you are on Medicaid that they schedule you months and months away. However if you have private insurance they will schedule you right away. Insurance discrimination? I don’t know however I’ve witnessed this and was very surprised.

My experience has been terrible! I only have this dentist office 1 star because I could not give a zero! The receptionist is one of the most rude people I have ever met! She must hate her job, she is so mean and unpleasant. As for the dentists…I am completely frustrated. My daughter had a tooth filled in December 2021, 3 weeks later, she has an abscess on the gum above the tooth and she had filled 3 weeks ago. We went to get the tooth looked at yesterday and they told me the tooth wasn’t filled in it’s entirety, that is frustrating it’s self! They drilled her tooth, put some cotton and medicine in the tooth, sealed it and told us to come back February 25th!!! I took her to a new dentist today, she had to have the tooth removed because it was dead. Why in the world would you send me away to come back a month later and fill a dead tooth! I do not feel like they are providing the best service e possible. Also, she has 5 other cavities that were not detected at her last appointment which was less than 6 months ago! I am MAD!!! I missed my son's appointment for the 1st time ever when covid hit so much happened when my job shut down I called to apologize and reschedule and she was rude n told me to write it down this time and make sure I don't miss it. Both dentist are amazing but the receptionist is horrible! She's so rude with everyone and acts like you are bothering her! Would deffintly get 5 stars if it wasn't for her! Please do something about her!

All 4 of my kids go here and the dentists are amazing. They did so well with my youngest son. He's autistic and doesn't like the dentist, but they kept their patience with him and did a great job. My son was supposed to have an out patient surgery back in January and he ended up getting covid so they said they elwood call back in 4-6 weeks to reschedule and never did! Excellent dentist!!! We have been going to them for a couple years and it has been nothing short of amazing. You get to go back with your kids. They do all 3 of my kids at the same time AND my kids are NOT afraid of the dentist.

My kids dentist referred us to this specialist. I called to make an appointment today and am very stressed and confused with the way the receptionist treated me during the phone call. She was very rude and seemed bothered. I don't understand why.

They are a dentist office that cares. They try to prevent your child’s fears. They are great with kids who have special needs.

A father/son dr team, both dr's were incredibly kind and explained everything they were doing to the child in a way they could understand. My son's tooth was potentially needing a cap, but the dr wanted to make sure that was really necessary first. After cleaning the tooth out he determined it only needed a filling. Love that conservative approach when it seemed our previous dentist did as many billable procedures as they could get away with. Don't take your child with special needs here. My child with autism -no putting him to sleep, no prescription going home. We ended up in the Emergency room.

I called in to make my kid a dentist appt and the receptionist was nice and polite at 1st but then I told her we had buckeye Medicaid and she said they were booked all the way up until December. The receptionists and hygienist are extremely rude!!! The dentists are okay. I don’t think they spend enough time on the patients. They also don’t allow you to make a follow up appointment after your visit. They send you a reminder post card. Then when you call to schedule. They are 3 months ahead in the booking schedule. Dr John and Dr Jack are both patient, skilled and excellent with all children, as well as those with special needs. I highly recommend this practice.

Amazing pediatric dentist! My son is only two years old and we went today for the first time and had the most amazing experience. The dentist is very patient and very gentle! Got called back to see him right on time. Everyone was very friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better dentist for my son! Highly recommend!! ????????????

The receptionist I just spoke to was so rude! She just barks dates, doesn't use completely sentences when speaking to me, and had an overall bad attitude. I've heard the doctor is amazing so I will take my kids to their appointments, but they need a new receptionist.

When my siblings and I were children we went to this dentist office. The Dentist has always been pleasant, professional, patient with us. Now that I have children of my own, my kids attend this dentist office. I would have given the office a 5star rating if not for the receptionist. On multiple occasions the receptionist has been rude, short tempered, and has low customer service skills. Its very disappointing that as the first interaction that customers receive is with her and her attitude reflects badly upon the office. Dr. Gerstenmaier is fabulous! He is wonderful with my three year old daughter, so much so she leaves saying “I love my dentist!” I think it’s the “princess vitamins” (flouride ????) that does the trick!

Very clean office. Bright yellow chairs. Child friendly with stuffed dog giant teeth to brush. They do the best they can w fussy kids. Parents can stay with child. Treat bag when done.

We have emergency custody of our nephew since the passing of his parent when he was little. Dr. Gerstenmaier was the only dentist that would take him as a patient because of the insurance he had. My husband and I want to commend him for all the years of service he has given to a lot of children in the county that have not had the means otherwise. He has selfishlessly served tens of thousands of kids being paid a very minimal amount I can assume. When I have called in for appointments for our nephew Wendy has been fantastic and even Dr. G has answered his phones and talked with me for appointments. They are just fantastic and I hope everyone gives him the kind regard he has given to so many! Be patient and thankful that there are still good doctors like him willing to serve! I love the dentist here. We drive up from Columbus to see them. However the receptionist is always ( every single time I am here) rude and unfriendly even during check out time.

I've gone to Dr Gerstenmaier all my life and he is pretty amazing. Very quick, but still does a great job! He is always in and out of your mouth before you know it. Sometimes his hygienists are grumpy, but that's okay we all have our bad days. Over all I have had a great experience with both Dr Gerstenmaier Senior and Dr Gerstenmaier Jr. I will be sad when I have to move on to an adult dentist. I would recommend them to anyone. I'm a nurse and there is even a dental office in the clinic I work in, and I still drive 45 minutes to Fairlawn to see (both) Dr Gerstenmaiers. They are so nice and it's just a friendly caring atmosphere EXCEPT for the receptionist who is ALWAYS incredibly rude and unhappy. Hunter is my 14 year old with autism. He had really bad experience in 2008 with a different dentist. It has been really hard since then to get him near a dental office. We met with Dr Gerstenmaier. I appreciate the professionalism while examining and operating on my little children. They seem to take a lot of pride in their business as pediatric dentists; however, when met with outside of the dental office, the both of them seem to be taken aback by my waving and saying their names in a public place as they did not respond other than for the son to stare vehemently back at me and the father simply "ignored" the situation altogether with his head hung down as he "fixed his trousers" after an evident lunch break... I was totally disgusted and dismayed by both of their "subtle" actions. It was very clear to me (a very short, communicable distance) that they definitely could hear me call out their names as I happily waved in their direction... And for that I am not very happy. Professionalism extends far beyond the dental office exam room when you are a true professional and of good character. What I took from that experience was that they are all about the bottom line and appear to be quite racist in the worst way, or so it seemed. You can tell Dr. Gerstenmaier has been doing this for a while, but I always kind of feel indifferent when I leave there. My son got the care he needed, but I don't know that we would go back there if there was another dentist covered by our insurance that performs the specific services we needed. The staff is kind of rude and unapproachable and the entire office could definitely use a makeover as it looks straight out of the Brady Bunch.

Dr. Gerstenmaier was my dentist as a child and now he is taking care of my two sons. My oldest is on the autism spectrum. Neither of my children have any fear of the dentist after seeing him. Both of my kids were nervous at the first visit, as any child would be, but they both calmed down as he talked to them. He takes time to talk to my 6 year old about where he could do a better job at brushing and how to take care of his teeth overall. He also takes time to talk with me and answer questions. After taking my younger son, who is 2, for his first dental visit and seeing how well he handled such a young and active child, I had to take time to share how impressed I was.
