Seen by this MD during an ER visit for maybe 2 minutes. No explanation of what tests and procedures were being performed or the clinical rationale behind why they were being done. Basically, this provider had every test in the book run on me even though I did not have symptoms to justify the need....where is the clinal skill in this? Then, 4 months after the visit, I am billed by TeamHealth for the “services” provided by this MD a ridiculous amount of $1,751. If the MD had spent the time to come and discuss his testing plan with me and the rationale for why certain tests were being run, I could have provided my input and decided to go through with certain tests or not. Instead I am stuck with a huge bill which does not reflect the time that the MD spent with the patient. Being a healthcare professional myself, I would classify this as poor patient care.
