I slammed my hand in my car door and was positive I fractured my hand. Dr Fernandez was able to squeeze me in and was so helpful and extremely knowledgeable. He listened and was able to provide a diagnosis of my hand issues. I’m so thankful for the care I received!! From the radiology staff to the physicians assistants, everything was a 20/10!

The best hand/wrist orthopedic experience anyone would ever have is at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush with Dr. Fernandez. From the start, registering at the front desk to having surgery is just seamless. I was impressed at how professional and caring the staff was when I went in for surgery. From the registration process to surgery was amazing. The nurses are the BEST nurses out there. The anesthesiologists are amazing as well. I had a nerve block and honestly didn't feel a thing. I was out and on my way 3 hours after arriving. These folks have it ALL down to a fine science. You can't go wrong, doctor Fernandez will listen very carefully, and give the best options for treatment. He has done 2 surgeries for me and if I ever need a 3rd he'll do that one too. The greatest part is, you get the BEST hand/wrist specialist available!!!!!!!!! Thank you to Doctor Fernandez and his staff, truely a 5 star experience!

Everyone was absolutely amazing. Dr Fernandez and his team are amazing professionals with great a sense of humor, empathy, and patience. Everyone from Evan who custom molded a great splint for me, to Mellissa who really helped ease my nervousness in the OR, to the anesthesiologists (Alexi and chief!) for being hilarious and knocking out my arm, and of course Dr Fernandez himself, made the experience as incredible as possible. What was really cool was seeing the same staff in the office as in the surgery center. I was expecting different folks, but that made it so nice. One of my favorite things about Dr Fernandez is he really took the time to explain my options along with their pros and cons. He even showed me the screw in his hand which really gave me the confidence to go with that option. I don’t want to ever break a bone again, but if I do I’ll definitely head back to Dr Fernández! Thanks everyone and you all rock!!!! p.s. that chocolate cake was the best!!

Dr. Fernandez is very professional and what I like most of my recent visit, is that he explained to me with graphs what is going to be needed to do to improve the symtoms that currently I have and in some way bother me. I definetely will recommend Dr. Fernandez as an excellent Orthopedic Specialist.

Dr. Fernandez is extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind. He really cares about his patients. I have complete confidence in his abilities. I highly recommend Dr. Fernandez.

Dr. John Fernandez is the man, very knowledgeable, caring and humble. Came here from another care provider who did not explain to me exactly what was going on with my wrist injury, just looked at it and said all you need is therapy and pain continued, I’m glad I got referred to Dr. Fernandez he explained to me and showed me exactly why I still had pain in my wrist and talked to me about the best option I had, no wonder he’s a 5 star Doctor. Dr. Fernandez repaired a previous surgery I had done near my home. I live about 2 hours away. He gave me back full function. I am returning back to him for a for a different hand issue. I trust him and he is worth the drive! Very relatable and down to earth.

Dr Fernandez and all of his staff are amazing.

I believe in 1st impressions and from the first time I met Dr. Fernandez I knew he was a good Dr. He explained my condition to where I understood everything, he even genuinely cared. I would recommend him to anyone needing hand or wrist surgery!

Very nice guy. My hand was operated on by a different Dr with a different practice. It did not go well, my hand was made worse, way worse. I saw Dr Fernandez several times hoping and praying someone would fix my hand. Never really got anywhere as far as a solution. I get it, no one wants to fix what someone else totally destroyed. Its coming up on 2 yrs since my surgery and my hand is terrible. I wish I had seen Dr. Fernandez for my original surgery. My quality of life has suffered tremendously. Very nice guy. Dr Fernandez is an amazing Doctor. He explains everything to you before you walk out the door doesn’t rush you and listens to what you have to say. His staff is all amazing also they are there for all your needs day or night. I would highly recommend him.

Went in for carpal tunnel release. All my questions were answered all my concerns addressed. The took a anxious situation and made it a pleasent experience. From the front desk to the fantastic sergeon . All expectations were met. Came in as a patient. Left feeling like family. This was the best experience I've ever had at a health care facility. He repaired my basilar thumb arthritis/pain in both hands (9 mos apart) w CMC Joint repair w removal of my trapezium bone and anchor to my 1st met. I was back to work in 2 weeks (as a nurse anesthesiologist as sole anesthesia provider in a hosp). All other 3 orthopods I visited wanted to do an extensive proc by taking a tendon fro my forearm for repair w 3 mos recovery/no work….I am now 4 months postop after my 2nd hand was done. Couldn’t be happier. No more pain. No more eatin Ibuprofens from a pez dispenser (lol). Went snow skiing for a week in Colorado about 10 weeks after my 2nd surg and snowmobile trip w buddies about 13 weeks after that 2nd surg. I’m tellin you, this hand surgeon was amazing and his bedside manner was superb. Recommended my aunt for same exact surgery, and she feels the same as me. Trust him. Put your hands in his hands!

One of the greatest doctors I’ve been to. Very informative & intelligent, he’ll get straight to the point & tell you all the possible outcomes and he’s super nice & friendly.

Dr . Fernandez is the best doctor. I have even been told by OT’s & physicians from other hospitals that Dr. Fernandez is the BEST! I had been living with pain 24/7 for years…no more pain! He also found other issues in my hand and issues the last surgeon missed and he fixed. I cannot praise him enough for how much he cares about his patients. He & his staff make sure you are comfortable & understand everything and TRULY CARE! He is the BEST!!

I love the staff here at Midwest orthopedics. They are always so kind and nice. Always welcomed with a smile every visit.

Dr. Fernandez doesn't bs you. He tells you how it is and he runs his VERY detailed plan by you. I trusted him my very first appointment with him. He doesn't give off that generic "professional" vibe. He's more of a people person.

I have seen Dr. Fernandez on two different occasions. Once for a broken wrist and now for a tendon issue. Dr. Fernandez makes sure I have his cell number and answers questions throughly, He has always taken very good care of me.

When u get appointment requests and asked to do a review of a Dr. U have never seen, or even live within 1500 miles from, u get suspicious. Opting out of their texts doesn't work. Calling them they will transfer u back into queue if u get someone on the line. Stay away from these fraudsters!!!!
