Dr. John H. Bissell

We have had very bad service from this office, it appears there are some patients they do not want to work with. I spoke with a lady by the name of Heather who was very unprofessional and rude she stated she is the owner. She feels that her making a phone call to the PCP she was doing a favor for the patient. I explained to her that she made the decision to make this call which took APEX 2 1/2 months. I then made the call to the PCP since Heather could not seem to reach them and it only took 24 hrs to get the information. Now we are in 4 months and the pt is still in pain with no svcs. We were told that appointments for injections are only done Monday but Heather called her and pushed it out another week now we are going into 4 1/2 months. She scheduled the appointment on a Tuesday even though injections are only done on Monday. When I questioned Heather as to why they changed the appointment to a day we were told injections were not done she accused me of being hostile and canceled the appointment and any future appointments that were to be made. I suggested she pull the recorded calls There is so much more to the experience but I am trying to shorten the story.

Dr B is great and his staff are the best I have ever interacted with and actually care!

Dr Bissell is a wonderful doctor. He always listens and tries to solve whatever I need. His staff also needs a shout out!

The people at Apex has a HEART of Gold and they Love their Careers. I am also Blessed to have these guys as my care takers my Doctor and my brothers and sisters in Christ. You can't find a better Group of people than at APEX.

Very thorough.unfortunately the hospital was not as such.Went immediately as recommended. All I received was meds that made caused nausea. 3 days later still in bed. Told them sensitive to meds did it away.

I had my first injections today and I am really excited to say..they really do work..I was surprised at how quick this was and much better I felt so soon..10 thumbs up for me..thank you

Their Ketamine Clinic has been life changing! I live with Fibromyalgia and chronic back pain and was bed-ridden for 80% of my day. Now, it's the exact opposite and I'm a functioning person for 80% of my day! I'm on Medicaid, and have never had to come out of pocket for a single penny! I will be forever grateful to Dr. John Bissell, MD and his staff for what they have given me. The best part is that they have a new 'employee' by the name of Van that brought me so much comfort! Doctor Boswell spent a lot of time with me explaining medical procedures as he tested the areas of concern.

Working with Heather has been a wonderful experience and my pain level is decreasing, which is something I thought I would never be able to say!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bissell since the summer of 2017. First I have to say that I love his staff. They recognize me, know why I'm there and always have smiles. Especially the front desk clerk, who even recognizes my voice on the phone. I always on time for my appointments and I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. The nurse and I play guess my weight today and she is gentle with the tasks and questions that she has to ask. In the exam room I have never had to wait more than even 5 minutes for Dr. Bissell to come bustling in with my chart in hand. Although we have to go over the same questions, because I am a chronic pain patient, we've talked extensively about options other than medications. He is always up to date on the latest papers written and other research projects that are in the works. I've liked his staff and him from the beginning and hope to be to see him for many years. I enjoy seeing everyone in the office. They're always going above and beyond to be pleasant and helpful in any way they can. I feel like Dr. Bissell listens and understands my pain needs.

Excellent service great staff, Dr.Bissel does excellent work l definitely will be back and for sure refer my family and friends.

I really really like that this Doctor Office is always willing to help and understands what I am going through as a patient!!!! I would recommend this office to anyone that is dealing with pain.

My experience with Apex Physical has always been great. I have been attending their clinic for over 5 years and everyone has always been very helpful in those years.

Dr Bissel is easy to work with. He listens to the patient. He takes his time to find a way to work with you to help reduce the amount of pain that you are in. I have highly recommended him to my friends and coworkers in the past and wold do so in the future.

The staff is great however the Dr is not the greatest. I initially thought he listened but he doesn't. .. after more than two years of seeing this physician I reviewed my records to find he frequently misrepresents the visit notes. For instance, if he forces a medication change on the patient even though the patient has been on a steady dose of medication "x" he forces the patient to accept a lower dose against their wishes, or BAM you run the risk of getting dropped cold Turkey. Even though you Express yourself as not in agreement with the change, and that the previous dose was in fact therapeutic, he fraudulently records that the patient "understands and agrees with the change'. Is this common practice in the field? The uncaring reply does little to change the fact that my rights were violated during the last visit by not allowing a chaperone in the room when Mr Bissell made the decision to drop me without notice. Even though this is a "highly regulated field, according to the DEA this is also a highly SUBJECTIVE "one formula does not fit all" situation and does not mandate "a reduction for ALL patients." It is a recommendation that should be considered in context to each individual patient's condition and treatment. DO NOT SEE THIS PRACTICE IF YOU HAVE LEGITIMATE CHRONIC PAIN AND WANT UNBIASED TREATMENT. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A VETERAN. The VA has an excellent, honest, understanding and professional pain management TEAM that was more helpful in a few months than years with APEX. Bissell cares less about the patients than he does about the patients money. The DEA does not require a urinalysis at every visit but it works out well for the practitioner who can charge the insurance for the tests. This practioner is narcissistic and forgot the hippocratic oath a long time ago. You are only asking for trouble if you go to this practice. I understand the options are limited in this area, but BEWARE OF THIS business, you're asking for trouble in short and long term mental maltreatment. Don't use Apex Medicine if you ever want a doctor that you can reach. My wife is in horrible pain, and we have called for a week since the meds they gave at her first appointment did not work. Since that time, we have called over 15 times in the hope of actually speaking to a live person. No luck. All messages go unanswered, so don't bother leaving a message either. I assume someone actually works there, but make sure to leave the right message the first time because after that, you can't even reach the machine. If you're a Veteran using TriWest. Go somewhere else. Their scheduler (Maddie?, Matty?) blatantly told me today that filling out and faxing a form to the VA for appointments is not worth her time then hung up on me when I was explaining what TriWest needed to approve my next appointment. I called Community Care to see how best to proceed, and they verified that the said form is the best way to get appointments after the initial referral. I called again to try and explain what the VA told me, and she hung up on me again. Because of this, I will never go to Apex again. So now when we all wonder why Veteran Suicides are so high, the answer is people like Maddie at Apex. I had an appt for a covid test today, scheduled in advance for my surgery that is out of state in 5 days. I show up to the clinic and all the lights are off, there are two people there staring at me without so much as a greeting. I stated I had an appt and I was informed that as of yesterday they completely shut down the covid testing. I received a confirmation text this morning regarding my appt, and a confirmation email this week as well. I’ve been waiting for this surgery for months, and now will likely have to cancel since other covid testing sites are closing soon and tomorrow is a holiday. Hopefully I’ll get my money back for travel and lodging. This is all because of the inconsiderate doctor that runs this clinic apparently. Imagine, a simple notification yesterday would have given me ample time to find an alternative plan, and I could have had my long awaited surgery. I am so upset and saddened... I just want to start this off with if I could review the staff of this clinic separately I would. They have always been incredibly kind to me. It may be hard to reach them over the phone but in person they always treated me well. Dr Bissell on the other hand has never been kind to me. I spent 7 years as his patient only to end up being accused of lying when I said I didn’t drink alcohol. I am on a lot of medications and wouldn’t risk my health over a drink. But once I came back positive for alcohol my words meant nothing. I would’ve had more luck talking to a wall. I tried asking if it could be related to meds, food or any other environmental factors. He said no and decided to decrease the regiment Id been on for 7 years. Ive since learned that 6 of the tests that he said I was positive for were all negative. Only 2 tests came back as positive and it was for insanely high amounts. Im happy to say that Ive found a new pain doctor who treats me 10 times better than Dr Bissell ever has. I still have no idea how I tested positive for alcohol but my doctors and I plan on running every test imaginable to find the source. If I ever truly tested positive. At this point I don’t even trust that those results were meant for me considering I had negative tests that he labeled as positive. Dr Bissell is one of the most caring Drs when it comes to lessening my pain, thank you so very much.

I have been going to his office for last 4 years, the staff has always been friendly with me and my spouse. Dr. Bissell does everything needed to control my pain and shows concern. He runs what test are needed and follow up is great. I have never had any issues in the 4 years.

I think the constitution was very informative. I look forward too getting started and lose this weight along with all the individuals that was in the class. I wish everyone great things and transformation.

Dr Bissell is always very thorough and explains every step of the what he is preparing to do he is always considerate and is always sure to ask if I’m doing alright..he does his best to put me at ease and I really appreciate that

Very nice and through visit. Dr Bissell was polite and courteous. He asked questions and also answered questions no problem. He explained everything out .

Always staff are prompt and professional. Office is easily.accessed and very clean. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Just don't break the rules, pay attention, and remember they all honestly want what's best for you.

My first visit with Dr Bissell was great he was very professional, pleasant, caring and show concern specially on this painful day, also the front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful , hope that my future visits to continue as the the first one. Thank you.

I have been going to Dr. Bissell for quite some time now. He has THE BEST pain management physician I have been to and I have been to a lot. He is straightforward and doesn't give up. I highly recommend him.
